"A Mil-Spec, everything-proof iPhone case with a freakishly slim figure."
Super slim. Protects against "swim/surf/rain/drinks/dust/sand/grit/mud/ice/snow/sleet/cold/drops/knocks/tumbles". Can be used in up to 7 feet of water and has an additional adapter for waterproof headphones. Listen to music while surfing or watch a movie in the shower. Craziness. "Protects against every-day hazards—full IP-68 rating against water and dust, and designed to Military Specifications" --- "High degree of shock and impact protection—tested to Military Specifications MIL-STD-810F-516.5 (2 meters/6.6ft drop on all surfaces and edges. 26 tests)"
Mostly created from scrap wood. Partnered with American Forrest. For every watch you buy, they'll plant a tree.
Handmade in the USA? $79? Deal.
"Hand stitched top grain handlebar tool bag has arrived. Known as the “Black Smith” tool case this bag attaches to your handlerbar’s and can even fit older style saddles. Put your timepiece, wallet, a cold beverage or other essentials vital for your commute. Wheelmen creates a classic cycling piece sewn by hand in the USA."
Fall/Winter Hats
I've been sporting the same U.S. Postal Service hat for years now. Thinking about getting something a little different to cover protect this bald spot from Missouri's brisk winters. Here are a few I've come across. I'll try and post more if I find any.
Barbour - Waxed Cotton Hunting Cap
Folk - Stalker Hat
Filson - Shelter Cloth Wildfowl Hat
Columbiaknit - Chunky Knit Cap
I wish I lived close enough to an ocean to be able to justify buying one of these. "Yosemite Paddle Boards are classically designed and hand crafted by one of Southern California's preeminent shapers and glassers. Excellent for cross training and core strengthening, these boards are simple and timeless in design."
I think I'm going to save up and pop some prescription lenses in to these suckers. This is the company that the military has contracted for years to make it's aviators. Made in the USA. Not bad for $109.
"Randolph Engineering has supplied sunglasses to the US Military and Air Forces world-wide since 1982. Famed for their extreme durability and classic American styles, these sunglasses are meticulously handcrafted using only the finest materials. The P3 is currently standard issue for submariners in the U.S. Navy. This version has been modified with a larger eye size and extended temples for a more general fit."
Can't imagine why I would need to zip my shoes in half and carabiner clip them to my pack. Still a cool idea.
Cool little knife with some extras. Not sure about this company but I've heard they aren't bad for a cheap knife ($43 from GreatwallOutdoor.com). Their 704 model is a popular EDC. I love the engrish on the sanrenmu site, like "foding knife" on the top of the page.
Sandvik 12C27 blade
Integrated wrench built into the handle (4mm/6mm/8mm/10mm)
Tungsten DLC window breaker
Bottle opener on the spine of the blade
Also comes in all tactical black w/ a black blade, but I failed to find a good image
Nice watch. Looks classy enough. Price is right. Might replace my Casio.
Had my eye on one of these for a while. They look like they're military issue or like a little dune buggy or something. Very minimal as far as scooters go. I'll take mine with knobby tires and all OD green, please. Maybe some ammo panniers. It'll have to wait a while. Right now I can pretty much bike to anywhere I need to go in town.
With:
Jeep's return to military products. I've been in love with old military bikes, motorcycles and Willys for a while so I'm finding these J8s pretty dreamy right now. I guess they're already dishing them out to other countries. I wonder if they're available for civilian purchase. May I have one, please?
Designed as a self-defense knife for women, but I'd still own one. Complete with a scraping/prying edge and (here's what really sold me...) a nail file. Not sure why they thought they needed to add that to appeal to women. I guess if I saw a woman filing her nails with this thing on the subway, I probably wouldn't fuck with her. Not bad for around $20.
Paul Fisher developed the Fisher Space Pen almost 40 years ago during a time when the 'race for space' was being fought. When astronauts began to fly they used ordinary pencils. The lead of these pencils could easily brake off causing dangerous situations when they floated around in the gravity-less space cabin. A safer and more reliable writing instrument was needed, the Fisher Space Pen. More than one million dollars went into the development of the Fisher Space Pen and in 1965 Paul Fisher successfully developed the first pressurized Fisher Space Pens.
They're only asking around $40 for it. Not sure if it's backlit or not. I like the idea and I can think of a lot of cool uses for it. I wish there was some way the sketches could be transferred to my computer as a doc. I think I'll stick with good ol' paper for now.
