“Sebastien.” Bas offered, it was amusing that these dryads had opted to do all of this just for the sake of being like everyone else. The house, the bed, even all the furniture looked as if it had been lived in by someone else before the dryads decided to call it theirs. Maybe that was Ekho’s point of asking about thrift stores. “I think this technically counts as breaking and entering, but stay here long enough and you might get squatter’s rights.”
“Oh, cool. I like that name. It has a great meaning, I think.” Something like that. He wasn’t even sure. Gael was just trying to give out a compliment. He didn’t know this guy so he was trying his best to make a friend. It usually wasn’t so difficult for him, but this guy was Ekho’s. Something about that made this awkward. “Why does everyone keep saying that? I think it’s perfectly legal. That’s what Eury says.”

“Aster mentioned him to me while we moved the couch.” Rather comically all the way down the street and then they’d had to wrestle it into the actual villa. The idea that Aster and Gael had brought another into their relationship didn’t bother her all that much. “He said he’s a manticore.” Said couch still doesn’t look right and Eurydice frowns before gesturing to it and then sighing. Striding over to it, she sinks down onto the piece of furniture, right in the corner. It’s comfortable at least, even if she can’t find a place to place it. “I’ve met one, a manticore. He did something to a bunch of mortals in a bar.”
“Oh, he did? Yeah, he had been visiting us often. But he was at sea, too. Like a pirate.” It was pretty cool, he thought. At first, at least. That was until he actually talked to Paris and realized that the manticore didn’t think it was all that fun. He only wanted the best for his partner though. Gael wanted the best for everyone really. He only hoped he could make things better for Paris now that Aster and him were back and walking the earth. “Yes. Which isn’t all that great really.” He moved towards where she had plopped herself down and sat down next to her. They would figure out the right place soon. “What did he do?”
parisxashar:
Gael was always strange, but Paris just figured that’s what made him so lovable. He’d just gotten the dryads back, and he wasn’t going to do anything to put them in harms way. Despite the fact that they perhaps held the one thing that could kill him. “Then lead the way.”
Paris had always looked at Gael like he was a little bit awkward. Which he was. Communication had never been his strong suit. He always felt like he was putting his foot in his mouth trying to impress Paris. Nevertheless, he lead the manticore to the place they called home now. “You like it? We’re upstairs,” he said as he almost ran up the stairs, hoping Paris would follow. “And here’s our room.” Then he moved in further. “And here’s the bed.”

“Bas.” The witch said gruffly as he did his best to try and think of something to talk about. Usually him and Ekho just fucked and then the dryad filled the silence. “He told me all of you decided to get this place together?” Sebastien said simply, he didn’t really know much about dryads beyond what Ekho had told him but the witch was curious to learn more. “Are there a lot of you here?”
“Bas? Is that short for anything or just Bas? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to,” he said as he moved to head inside and lead the other man into the house. It wasn’t exactly fixed up completely yet, but it was presentable. “Yes. We did. My friend, Eury, decided we should get a home since that’s what people have these days.” He was much more used to his tree, but at least he had a bed to share with Paris and Aster now. “No, not many. Just a few.”

Eurydice. Sure, it was most likely a more common name given his feet were firmly planted on Greece soil but— what was the chance Gael actually meant a different Eurydice? The odds of that didn’t exactly make sense between the two brain cells Casper was currently rubbing together. There wasn’t much surprise in the fact that she had friends within the bayside, though it was still a mystery to him on what exactly she was in the first place. The man he now stood within Caffeine & Caffeine had the same familiar feeling as the woman they spoke of, but Casper only let out a chuckling snort as Gael spoke of their adventure. “I think the actual term is squatting, yah know- since no one actually owns it,” which was still against the law, but the jackal wasn’t sure he would classify them as the same charge. Though he wasn’t an officer or had any kind of education, Casper had spent enough time around those who had and he was well versed in testing their limits. His eyebrows stayed slightly furrowed before emerald hues glanced at the coffee menu, “Is that, um, bona fide? Like you can just snatch a place up like that?”
“Squatting?” Wasn’t that a workout? Last Gael checked, that was a workout to get your glutes looking better. Why would someone be doing that in an empty house? Then again, maybe it meant something else. He was sure that Casper wasn’t just using words like that without meaning something entirely different from what Gael thought the other meant. He wasn’t going to think too hard on it though. “Wouldn’t we own the place now though? Nobody else claimed it so it’s kind of ours.” That was what Eurydice had said. And Ekho had agreed with it. Gael didn’t have many thoughts behind his eyes so he usually just agreed with what the other dryads were doing. He simply used his braincells to be nice. That was the least he could do. He looked up at the menu in front of them. “I don’t know what to get.” Then he looked back at the shifter. “I don’t know. You would know better than us, right?”

@gaelepimelides·
Ekho wasn’t at his house… Or the rundown cabin in the woods that the dryads were calling their home. Bastien had opted to come by after his shift was over and instead of being greeted by Gael like he had expected, instead there was another dryad there. One whose demeanor was a great deal lighter than Ekho’s. Bastien had assumed that every dryad was an archetype of the past, though this one was… Kind, maybe even gentle. “Hope you don’t mind that I came by” Bastien said simply as he looked around the cabin, “I thought Ekho would be here.” The witch explained simply, “Do you mind if I wait for him?”
This man was waiting for Ekho? Since when had Ekho found someone that was coming to their home? Gael wasn’t surprised, but he was still shocked. Ekho had told someone where they lived which was ver interesting. He was very happy for the other dryad though. The rest of them had found someone to occupy their time. Gael and Aster had already found that for themselves so they hadn’t needed to worry. “Uh, sure. What’s your name? I’m Gael.”
eurydicekouris:
“Who is this Paris?” Eurydice keeps moving the couch to different parts of the room of living, her hair pulled back tight and sweat on her brow. She has suspicions, she has heard from Aster, but now she wants to hear from Gael, who she knows is incapable of lying to her. Straightening up and stepping back, her hands on her hips, she observes the couch and then her fellow dryad, expression curious. @gaelepimelides
“Well, he’s like Aster. My partner.” Gael was standing in the living room as Eury moved the couch around to a spot of her liking. He had long given up on helping considering this had been going on for far too long now. How was he supposed to help if he didn’t know what she wanted? “Why?”
parisxashar:
“You like that? I had to consume souls, you know. I think it wouldn’t be fun if I was still doing that.” Paris managed a small smile, though Gael’s answer made him wrinkle his nose, “Well hell, Gael, don’t make it sound like you’re doing me any favors.”
“No. I don’t think it would be very fun. Did you not have fun though? I would imagine you missed me too much,” he joked. Gael thought he was pretty funny sometimes. He would laugh at his own jokes. “Wait, no, that was’t what I meant. I do want to try out the bed with you.”

parisxashar:
“Lots of fish, Gael. And we just took a lot of other people’s food. We were pirates. I was a fucking captain. Isn’t that amazing? I had a sword and I was always fucking my way out of trouble.” Paris grinned a little, putting his arm around Gael, “You want to go try out the bed?”
“Well, that sounds like you had a good time. I’m surprised you had time to visit me with your sword training and all that ‘fucking’ your way out of trouble.” He had learned what that word meant recently so he was very adamant about saying it as much as he could. Well, maybe. “I wouldn’t mind trying out the bed. It seems like you really want to,” he said with a smile on his face.
orpheuxmiyamto:
“We can still go get something to eat, I am hungry,” he said. “How about Kiki’s? I’ve tried their stuff once and I liked it a lot.”
“Oh, I love Kiki’s.” He had been there a couple of times, but both times were good enough for him to want to go again. Plus, who didn’t like when food was different. He couldn’t exactly live off of just falafels. “I wonder what she’ll have on the menu today. I’ve heard it changes all the time.”

Location: Corinth Bay Hospital
There was an accident and as quick as Nikandros was, he hadn’t been able to stop it. Instead he was powerless as two cars collided in the middle of an intersection. It was bad, so Nikandros moved forward and assessed the damage himself. Badly injured, the woman that had been driving didn’t look like she had long - she looked at him with scared eyes and so Nik took her hand in his. A warm glow emanated from clasped hands that flooded under her skin, a flash of gold ripped through his eyes as she gasped for newfound breath. The blood at her temple dried and colour rushed to her features once again, she looked bewildered, lost, and then a paramedic was pushing him out of the way asking for her vitals. Nikandros just backed off, slipped away into the crowd, and returned to the sidewalk. “It looks like she’s going to be okay.”
Gael had seen the magic that flowed through the sphinx’s fingers and into the woman that seemed to be breathing her last breath. Thankfully, the other man had been around or the woman would have been in grave danger. He saw something in the other man though. Sphinxes were usually not so kind. From his experience, at least. As the sphinx stepped onto the sidewalk, Gael turned his head. “That was really nice what you did for her.”
gaelepimelides:
Gael wasn’t sure where Aster was going with this, but he listened nonetheless. The world had always been a cesspool for evil. That was why he always tried to be a decent person. Of course, he ended up making mistakes, but didn’t everyone? Being a good person cost nothing though. He would never gain anything from being rude. It just wasn’t in his nature anyway. “I didn’t plan on it.” He pressed his lips to Aster’s again. “I don’t want you to change either. I love you just the way you are.”
-
Their lips reconnected and Aster let calloused fingers run through the other’s dark hair. He did not know how it was that he came to be so fortunate, the world was a shell of what it had once been, and yet he still had Gael - and Paris had returned to them. It was in moments like this that Aster thought perhaps he could be content, so long as Gael was happy then surely he could be happy to. Their lips broke, and the dryad whispered, “I love you too.”
END.

“Fuel, as in coffee and some kind of pastry,” the jackal’s eyes flickered back towards Gael as a grin tugged at his lips, “Figured that would be something familiar to you.” Given the other had spoken of bread-like products the last time the two had been around each other, especially given there was no guarantee there would be finger foods at the house showing. But before they reached the entrance of Caffeine & Caffeine, the man’s words struck him and caused a furrow to his brow, “Eury?” It wasn’t difficult to wonder if it was the same Eury that he had met at the bar, along with running back into during the festival not so long ago and started to piece some conversations together. “Did you say break in?” Had she vaguely mentioned a place that she lived? Casper fumbled at the thought as the most significant points were rooted in getting to know each other’s interests, having only removed the ring she had gifted him when the moment required it. “How did you manage that one?”
“Oh. That makes more sense then. I do like some pastries.” He was sure that Casper would never let him live it down now. It had been a simple question about candy that Gael had somehow turned into a lesson about what bread to get from the market. How could he have gotten that so mixed up? Well, it was simple. Gael barely remembered what he ate for lunch the previous day. His head was basically empty fifty percent of the time. That was besides the point though. They were going to get fuel now. “Yes, Eury. Short for Eurydice.” At the next question, he simply nodded his head. It sounded weird saying it out loud, but that was what they had done. “I think that’s what it’s called when you go into a house that’s not yours. Eury is pretty fond of that. She got into this child’s house one time. It was up in a tree.” He moved into the coffee shop after Casper. “Well, she climbed into the window and then opened the door. Nobody has claimed it so she said it’s ours now.”
