Every story had three sides: one side, the opposing side, and the ultimate truth.
From Mel’s perspective, her conscience was clear. She never faced a moral quandary, never looked at anything she couldn’t keep, or took things without asking, let alone steal. All the lackings in her life filled itself or Mel simply trained herself out of her want for them. Mel had a pristine record. And she lived her life with that notion until last night in her best friend’s house where his wife called her a thief. Well, Abby used more colourful language—thieving, conniving, homewrecking bitch—but thief was the main takeaway.
Mel figured that made sense from Abby’s side of things. The woman who looked at her husband wrong, cozied up to him during shifts, spent nights in their bed. Yes, Mel was stealing—she stole glances, stole kisses, stole another woman’s honey, I’m home. He was a stain on her pristine record, a wretched mistake she welcomed between her legs whenever she needed the comfort.
When he kissed her for the first time in the ambulance bay after a difficult shift, she ignored the shift in her morals. He was helping her through a bad day. That was a kiss between friends. When he pulled her into his car weeks later and whispered things between her thighs, Mel thought he was a friend doing another friend a favour. Stress relief.
So when he finally fucked her and pulled her to his chest, Mel figured it was another friendly gesture. He lay over her with the full weight of his body over hers, tracing her skin. His whispers tickled her ear as he told her the love bites and moles on her body were nebulas and constellations, and he was one lucky stargazing bastard.
Ultimately, Mel knew she and her best friend were inseparable—a truth his wife recently learned.
imagine it’s your first day at a new job and your hot coworker just called you his favorite

They were at the wedding reception of one of Frank's cousins, Sheila. He hadn't been particularly inclined to go but Mel thought it would be fun so he'd RSVP'd yes and checked the "bringing a guest" box without a second thought.
He was greeted by kisses on the cheek from relatives he hadn't seen for at least 15 years. He introduced Mel as simply 'my friend, Mel', not wanting to get into what happened with Abby but from the looks he was getting, they knew she wasn't just a friend.
And he could admit the way he was acting around her wasn't helping his case either but it wasn't like he was doing it on purpose. Leading her around with a hand on her lower back and cradling her waist when they talked to people, constantly checking in to see if she was cold, slipping food onto her plate and taking off the things he knew she wouldn't want to eat; the list went on and on.
Mel looked beautiful, prettier than the bride in his opinion. She was wearing a green dress and her hair was down, wavy from the braid she'd worn to bed last night after they took a shower. She had on heels from the very back of her closet that she'd only worn once before, meaning not enough to break them in. She was so intent on dressing up that he'd simply stashed her flats in their bag for when she couldn't stand to be in heels any longer.
He spent the night watching for signs that her feet were hurting but she didn't say a word even when they were on the dance floor. And the second he saw her grimace, he slipped away under the guise of grabbing some water. He lead her away from the crowd, getting down onto one knee to carefully remove her shoes.
"Frank Langdon! Please tell me you aren't doing what I think you're doing and proposing to your girlfriend on the night of my wedding!" Sheila yelled, irritated but not mad; it felt more teasing.
He looked up at Mel, strands dangling in front of his face. "I guess I can see how she came to that conclusion," he retorted jokingly. "I'm not proposing! Calm down!" He called over his shoulder.
"You better not be!"
Once Mel's trusty black flats were on her feet, he got up and immediately felt a twinge in his back. Mel caught his wince and rubbed her hand over his lower back. He pressed a kiss to the side of her head before turning around. A good portion of the guests were focused on them and he just shrugged. "Not proposing! We're already married so that would make no sense anyways," he rattled off, not thinking.
He heard Mel gasp beside him. "Frank!" She exclaimed in horror.
"Oops," he mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. No one was supposed to know, it was supposed to be their secret.

gone wild (for @dad-inside)
Mel knew in theory that she was being obsessive, but she didn't think that it was hurting anything. Sure, she had unraveled little pieces of his life he hadn't meant for her to know. But he hadn't hidden them very well. And she wasn't going to do any questionable things with the information. But every new thing she uncovered made him feel that much more real to her.

Mel starts cyberstalking her favourite erotic audio performer. Things escalate from there. (read on AO3!) warning: rated e + stalker4stalker
every day is a gift because every day i wake up i get to reremember that frank canonically goes outside to search for mel but lies about it to play it cool as fireworks explode over his head when he sees her
here's a little scene from a new fic i'm working on in which mel's therapist suggests she start a garden, and someone signs someone up to help her as a joke... 🤭🥰

He's never liked exhibitionism. Abby used to try to make out with him in the middle of her sorority parties in college; whenever he expressed his discomfort, she would pout and call him an asshole for making her look dumb.
So he can't explain how he's ended up in a club bathroom with his dick out, other than the fact that it's Mel. He'd walk across hot coals for her; fucking her in the middle of Javadi's 21st birthday party is an honor.
She wraps her legs around his waist as he lifts her dress, and she lets out the prettiest sigh he's ever heard as he slides his cock inside her. Her heels dig into his lower back, pushing him further into her.
And when she finally breaks around him – he pulses and spills into her moments later – he thinks that maybe he hasn't been giving exhibitionism its fair shake.
dude wait. what if we got really close together so we feel safe
