I spent the entire holiday holed up in my room and watching Castle. Sorry about your hangover.
My metaphorical hangover will be short-lived. I plan to listen to Linkin Park and other like minded adolescent angst-spewing legends in order to forget the emotional trauma these holidays have caused me. But Castle, hey, you probably had a ton more fun than me.
Are you sure that’s not a real hangover? They feel sort of the same, emotionally. Gotta drag your feet through both and maybe, depending on your personality, hang your head over the edge of a toilet for a while. It can be very helpful whether you actually feel sick or not. You’re so disgusted with your surroundings that you forget to feel disgusted with yourself.
I’m sure they’ll forgive you for overlooking them on the most widely commercialized religious holiday in history. Or they’ll never talk to you again — I probably don’t know your parents.
No, I'm positive. I would remember if I'd had any to drink in the past week and I am 100% clean, trust. Although you're right, I'm about five seconds away from vomiting, mostly because the New Year isn't here yet so the 'holidays' are still going and I have to remain The Grinch. Yes, it's true, here in the great city of New Orleans, I am the one and only Grinch. I had a makeover, can you tell? God, I hate holidays. Look what I've been reduced to. Cavorting with 'writers' at a 'writers convention' in order to spread my distaste for Christmas.
Eh, they're into Thanksgiving, the bastards. They'd really disown me if I didn't come home for their picture-perfect Turkey fest. They're probably just pissed that I didn't come home to take a Christmas picture. They like to make people think we're a family from the 1800s. Pitchforks, mistletoe, it's the whole deal.
Christmas is over and I feel like I have a holiday hangover. At least now I don't have to stress about sending my parents anything.
So…Christmas was fucking boring this year. My parents sent me new skates, at least.

And it's the thought that counts, right? Damn. Are you sure? Not even...poetic horror, or whatever genre you write? 'Copy' is such a gross word. I prefer 'borrow for the extended period of forever, without credit or permission.' Besides, it's not like I would leave without giving them something. They'd have the heartwarming knowledge that they brightened my parents' day, if only for a split second. Giving is the only currency I run on.
Think it is, yeah. Ha, well, my parents always go with the cliché saying of ‘it’s the thought that counts’ so who knows? Your parents might be the same. Though, perhaps that saying wasn’t invented for maxed-out Starbucks cards.
No, that saying was definitely not made for Starbucks cards. Maybe sticky birthday cards and half-assed drawings, but not Starbucks cards. My parents don't even drink coffee. But it doesn't really matter, my parents aren't the type to say that in any situation. Maybe I'll plagiarize someone's poem around here and send it to them. No one will suspect a thing. Hey, no reason for asking, but you don't happen to write poetry, do you?
Is it proper etiquette to send gifts to family on Christmas, even if you're not going to be seeing them? I just now realized my parents might be expecting something from me, but unless they accept maxed-out Starbucks cards that are only valid in California, I've got nothing.
I feel like there could be better solutions than coffee. Dominic. How about yours? Is it short for anything?
Ew. Solutions. I prefer temporary, I'll-think-about-it-later-inducing quick fixes over anything permanent. Coffee gives me the pick-me-up I need and the glorious knowledge that my shakes have been quelled for only a short period of time. It gives me something to look forward to in the morning. It's nice meeting you, Dominic. Yeah, it's short for my full name, but you don't get that until I know I can trust you with the info.

Wasn't she supposed to be Country? She must have really fallen down the beaten path. A little, yeah. I read those books when I was pretty young so I didn't even realize Harry and Ginny were supposed to have a thing until, like, the last one. But that could have been my general tendency to be oblivious to everything and not just my childhood naivete. But c'mon, Harry was never going to die...think of all the hate mail J.K. would have had to answer. Including some from me. Harry was my best friend, how dare she mess with our beautiful friendship? Does she understand the revolutionary amount of trauma she's caused me? P.S. Can I have her autograph?

Now I have to somehow twist Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hit into my plan to ruin Christmas. I didn’t wanna involve them, Stevie loves Christmas. Look what you’ve done. Ruined her dreams with your little lies. Thunder only happens when it’s raining, players only love you when they’re playing. Say, Christmases they will come and they will go but when the snow washes you clean you’ll know, you’ll know (that numbers are the truth).
Loud music is the #1 cause of stress for most people above the age of one-hundred, did you know that? Maybe you should consider that before blasting your "Linkin Park" and "Nirvana." There is a 100% chance that you're not only harming others with your emo vibes but also robbing the old of their only solace in their time of dying. You know what? Fuck your numbers, man. Children are dying and you're still hung up on 1+1? Way to be narrow-sighted. I will be telling everyone. Fleetwood Mac hate numbers too, any true fan would know that much. I bet you haven't even listened to a single song of theirs, you poser. See? You're ruining my Christmas right now. Way to go. I'd watch your back if I were you. My Christmas spirit, formerly keeping me from harming your pretty little head, is long gone.
If I was a student at Hogwarts, I would use Howlers to send nice messages to people. So you’d be sitting there eating your breakfast when an owl comes and drops a letter in front of you. Then it opens and shrieks "Katie loves you! Stay flawless!" and burst into flames. Awesome idea, isn’t it?
That's....I'm at a loss for words at how amazing of an idea that is. Mostly I just want you to know that, in the case that we attended Hogwarts, I would want you to be my best friend. Of course, we don't, so that's completely irrelevant. You're still pretty cool though.
The one song I like is Fifteen; that’s the only one I can tolerate. Everything else is just her complaining like usual. To each their own, I guess. That last bit, sort of. The main focus of my writing is never romance, though. It’s the adventure, mostly. Like Harry Potter. You didn’t focus on Harry and Ginny while you were fearing for Harry’s life. That’s pretty cool.
I'll remember to listen to that one then. I'm sure I've heard a lot of her stuff in passing, she's pretty popular, I just don't always have my ears open to that sort of thing. Personally, the only thing I saw while reading Harry Potter was that romance, even in the first one when their interaction lasted about .2 seconds. I have always been a supporter of Hinny. Voldemort? Bonding with Sirius? None of it mattered, man. Harry really should have gotten his priorities in order. Yeah, I guess it's something we sort of have in common. Supernatural and fantasy cross in a lot of areas.

That would be one opinion. Not to say that I disagree, or agree, mostly because the only songs of hers I ever listened to intentionally were the ones from the Hunger Games soundtrack. Supernatural, cool. Would that be exclusively horror or are you a part of the new age wave of supernatural romance? Fantasy and fiction.
