i feel like i should put this out in case my blog gains more followers:

i am not a teacher, an educator, an elder witch, or anything like that. i am simply an intermediate witch and pagan, and my blog is not intended to teach or to be taken as the “cold hard truth”.

i run this blog as a way of storing information and to be able to share my practice with my little corner of the internet, because my family is less accepting of my practice and i like to find community on here. again, my blog is mainly for myself!

i make mistakes sometimes. i do not claim to know everything, i will not ever know everything, and certain parts of my practice may not be the same or even similar at all to others’. i am not trying to “mislead” beginner witches and pagans; however, if anything i post has blatant misinformation, please tell me! only keep in mind that different practices have different rules and focal points, so something may be true to me and not you, or vice versa.

As someone who has studied the history of Early Modern European witchcraft at university it is funny how many terfs spread theories as indisputable fact that are unaccepted within mainstream historical scholarship.

Yes men could be witches. No it was not a conspiracy against midwives. Yes it was rooted in misogyny and the societal disempowerment of women. No this was not the only relevant factor. Religion, class and social dynamics were also super important. Not to mention the blatant anti semitism.

The European witch hunts are such a fascinating and disturbing historical phenomenon, and I hate how it has been over simplified to support a radfem narrative.

this is the first lesson you learn: you are always wrong.

there is no electric hum buzzing through the air. there is no stinging bite to the sweetness of the mango. there is no bitter metallic tang to the water.

there is no cruelty in their laughter, no ambiguity in the instructions, no reason to be upset. there is no bitter aftertaste to your sweet tea, nothing scratchy about your blanket.

the lamps glow steadily. they do not falter.

II.

this is the second lesson you learn: you are never right.

you are childish, gullible, overly prone to tears. you are pedantic, combative, deliberately obtuse. you are lazy, unreliable, never on time.

you’re always making up excuses, rudely interrupting, stepping on people’s shoes. you’re always trying to get attention, never thinking about anyone else, selfish through and through.

it’s you that’s the problem. the lamps are fine.

III.

this is the third lesson you learn: you must always give in.

mother knows best. father knows best. doctor knows best. teacher knows best. this is the proper path. do not go astray.

listen to your elders, respect your betters, accept what’s given to you as your due. bow to the wisdom of experience, the education of the professional, the clarity of an external point of view.

Radfems calling pro trans queer activists "homophobic" has got to be the biggest joke in my millennial life.

Like, dear children, we were marching against and facing down hate groups such as the Westboro Baptist Church when y'all were playing in the sandboxes on the playgrounds. To have LGBTQ+ rights handed to you when you grew up, so you could turn out to be brainwashed bigots no better than those white supremacist alt-right cults that we've spent half our lives fighting and defending our queer friends against.

i love that there are ways of cleansing & charging rooms and objects other than using smoke. you can open the blinds and cleanse with light. you can open your window for a while and cleanse with the fresh air. you can also cleanse jewelry and other objects by your open window and let the air flow around & through it! you can sprinkle water around the room too. you can charge your room with the energy of plant life by bringing small tree branches or even just some leaves into the room and replace them once they dry up. try having houseplants too! you also can leave objects in the grass or under a tree for a while so they can absorb the energy of pure life. there is magic everywhere
