elsa let out a chuckle. "no, just elsa," though she liked to imagine sometimes how different things might have ended up being had she been born to fewer responsibilities than running a country. no doubt she would have been working alongside some of her old friends to keep the united states safe instead of simply her own country. perhaps her face would be plastered on lunchboxes and matching thermoses, but... the national postage stamp of arendelle was enough. she'd never needed worldwide notoriety and barely knew what to do with it in her own homeland. "hate is a strong word. i can't say how much i'd enjoy a summer in florida, but here and back home, summer's aren't too unbearable." her natural body temperature kept her cool enough in hot weather as well as made even the most bitterly cold winters not mean much. "well, i'm sure the city looks rather lovely with a light snow coming down around it. like in all the christmas movies. perhaps one day. i tend to get a little too carried away if i play mother nature," like when she froze all of arendelle for a day. fortunately, her handle on and training of her powers made reversing it a fair bit easier than it could have been.
she chuckled, shaking her head. "they won't follow too close. they know that i can protect myself just fine on my own anyway, so they don't exactly insist on being attached to my hip as much as they would if i were, well, normal." her gaze dropped to their hands as he slowly reached out and touched her hand, the heat radiating off of his own skin like a furnace compared to others. not that many succeeded in touching her to begin with. despite the control that she'd gained over the years, her fear of accidentally hurting someone else still remained, though not nearly as intense as it once was. being touched at times when she didn't expect to be sometimes startled her enough for her powers to... reveal themselves in inconvenient times. the fact that his hand had moved slowly, testing the waters made her not pull away and not recoil in fear of herself. she breathed out a chuckle at his statement, her cheeks flushing faintly as she nodded. "i suppose we'll see then, won't we?" she let out a chuckle as she watched the little flame character character dance around. it was a shame she didn't have olaf with her. she let out another chuckle at the thought of the two of them interact, even if she doubted that would ever happen.
because elsa was fairly certain she had johnny figured out as a person. she had a feeling that this was something he tended to do and often... and never with the same woman. not that there was anything wrong with that, of course. it wasn't as if she was looking for someone to settle down with. arendelle had never had a problem with her ruling alone and unmarried and frankly she stayed too busy with that to even consider the thought of looking for someone else. then there was the fact that they lived on opposite sides of earth. she shouldn't even be entertaining this idea, but she supposed she wanted to do something she shouldn't do just once, while she had a bit of time off. she shot him a grateful smile, standing as he pulled her chair out for her and nodded once, slipping her glove back on. "sounds good, i'll see you out back then," she agreed. after a quick chat with the security and giving them the plan, she met johnny out back. she gave him a smile when she saw him, her gaze travelling to the car giving an impressed nod. "certainly one of a kind," she agreed, letting herself in. "so where are we going?
Never short on confidence, Johnny liked his chances with Elsa based on how everything was going so far. He wasn't that same cocky 16 year old that he'd been before when he and his family ventured out into space and got bombarded with a horde of cosmic rays that gave them their incredible and fantastic powers. Back then, he just wanted to be a solo hero who could completely show off all of his abilities and be the big time hero as much as his ego would allow, but a humbling experience quickly put the hero 'gig' into complete perspective for Johnny. Now that he was in his mid twenties, there had been so much heartbreak, tragedy, and hard lessons learned in Johnny's life, but at the same time, his flames burned brighter than ever with optimism, renewed hope, and the passion of a fire that just couldn't be extinguished. Admittedly, he was a sucker for a classic trope here and there, and with both he and Elsa being complete opposites in the fire and ice, it was already starting to write itself into the fabrications of reality, much to his benefit, and hopefully hers. "The holiday season, light snow, your bodyguards not being complete peel artists. Sounds like everything is coming together at the right time, in the right place Elsa." That patented smirk of his was slowly starting to etch itself onto his face more and more consistently, and the Human Torch wasn't going to be shy about it either.
When they finally met out back, Johnny finally took a moment to appreciate her for the true regal beauty that a queen with her wintry aura could possess. It wouldn't have been his first time dating someone who was royalty, but that wasn't a story that needed to be told or delved into here. "Alright, so admittedly, I didn't fully think of a plan when I first met you and asked you to come with me. Honestly, I just wanted you to come take a ride with me and see where the vibes take us, but now that I think about it, I know exactly where we can go that'll put a smile on that blooming face of yours," he assured her. Going slow with his motions, he offered his hand to her, and after a few seconds of reluctance, she gave it to him. He looked at her knuckles, brushing a brief warm touch of his finger over them to see how her skin would react to his touch. The interaction was fascinating to say the least; did opposites really attract in this fashion, or was there more to it than just a melting feeling? Either way, Johnny planned on making this trip as memorable as possible for the ice queen herself. He wanted her to be able to think about him consistently whenever they weren't apart; lasting impressions were everything after all.
After opening the passenger side door into his car, he helped Elsa settle into the vehicle before sliding across the hood of his vehicle in style. Getting settled into the driver's seat, Johnny gave Elsa a slight smirk and nod of confidence, turning the vehicle on as the engine roared to life. This wasn't just any specially designed convertible after all; this engine was something he and his brother-in-law Reed specifically worked on and souped up together. Something so damn strong, energy efficient, and an item that was incredibly way ahead of its time, all things considered. "I'm about to take you for the wildest ride you've ever seen," Johnny promised Elsa, putting the vehicle into drive as they hit the open road. For now, the snow hit the top of the car as they drove smoothly down the road and without issue, regardless of the weather outside. Once they drove for about a good thirty minutes, with nothing more than Christmas rock music playing quietly in the car, they were finally on the outskirts of the city, where some of the more snowy mountain scape could be seen off in the distance. "I wanna ask you something, Elsa. Have you ever flown before? And I'm not talking about on a plane either. I'm talking about just drifting in the clouds, watching the landscape of everyone below your feet. You ever wanted to fly, Elsa?"
