“Nope..More so I helped a young woman deal with some scammers that were terrorizing my hometown with fake exorcisms and stuff like that.”
“Is that really something that should be handled by a school club, however? Still, sounds like an exciting school life. I never realised school clubs could be that much fun.”
“Sort o-Oh hey Sheryl!! L-Long time no see!”Glenn said as he attempted to hide the fact that he was working at the rather colorful and adorable looking cafe. “What are you doing here?”Good thing that he was done with working for now as it was part time.
“Ah, so you remembered!”, not that Sheryl thought she was easy to forget, but truth be told, she hadn’t seen Glenn for quite some time now. “Well, I found some time to relax for a bit. So, I decided that this place would be a good one for that. Just went by this really cute cafe, too.”
“*Yawn*Working Part-Time at a Cosplay Cafe sure tires me out..”Glenn mumbled as he sat outside at a bus-stop in Akihabara where the Cosplay Cafe he worked at was located also known as “Cosplay Base Higuchi”.
Sheryl had her first days off in weeks - and for some reason, Grace had decided that on that particular day, she wasn’t going to allow her to stay inside and work on songwriting. Apparently, she wanted the songstress to use her free time to get inspiration for lyrics. She understood where her manager wanted to do, but felt slightly offended at the idea that she wouldn’t be able to come up with something if that opportunity hadn’t presented itself.
After a short brainstorm, Sheryl decided that she would go somewhere she was not familiar with - and this place, with its bright colours and full blown activity, seemed like the right place for the inspiration she sought. Sheryl stumbled upon an adorable looking cafe, which seemed just like the perfect place to sit down and let her imagination do wonders. Before she stopped there however, she’d need to stop by elsewhere. Taking a few steps further, she overheard someone at a bus stop. A small smirk was visible on her face, as she approached this person.
“Working hard?”
[ ooc: i’ve been working on editing some things on Sheryl’s about page to include more details, while at the same time trying to avoid spoilers. added some more things to the guidelines pages, even though i am a bit confused over what should be covered in it, hopefully that is enough. time to actually get onto the roleplaying part of things! ]

“Pick up line? Naw, that wasn’t it, don’t be silly.
You can’t get lovey-dovey with someone of the same sex.
So…you won’t let me taste the chocolate?”
“Huh-- Well, of course not. You’re just a child, after all.”, Sheryl really needed to stop getting into early conclusions, even if this particular child seemed to act, like well, anything but one.
“And you can taste it, but I’m not feeding it you. Most definitely not through a kiss. Just have one and if you like it I might even consider buying you a box.”

“Well since you just took some, your tongue must have the same savor as this apparently ‘so good’ chocolate. So what about you give me a taste through a kiss? It’s better than wasting a piece of chocolate in case I wouldn’t like and spit it.”
“I--what? I’ll admit I’ve heard worse pick up lines, but aren’t you a bit young to suggest these things? You might get someone in trouble even if you don’t quite realise it.”
reminisce.

“I wanted to do great things.” Words carried on a disgraceful cloud of ash, followed by another elongated draw. A lifeline, one that kept her going but drove her respiratory health further into the ground. “But… Well.”
A weak smile caused those glossy pillowed lips to curl, if only the slightest fraction of an inch. Hiroko accented it with a soft chuckle and a shake or two of her head. A woman that traded her early years for cheap thrills, a noncommittal husband, and pointless fights wanted to achieve great things. Ludicrous.
“How about you?” Inquisitional brown eyes moved from the burning tobacco to the adjacent young woman. “Did you ever - no… you’re young. Do you have aspirations?” Hiroko wasn’t one for idols. Scarcely aware of the status of her interviewee, with or without the comforting haze of smoke.
She had been asked that question many times. For some reason, it often came up in magazine interviews, TV appearances and so many other occasions, despite how often the songstress made her personal goals known. However, even though the sentence remained the same, there seemed to be something different in this instance. Was it the apparent sense of grief? Perhaps regret? Or was it the seemingly never ending smoke that was getting to her? Who knew.
Hands to hips, confident voice tone and so she spoke, in true Sheryl Nome fashion. “Of course. To be the greatest singer this galaxy and all others have known. To be able to touch the hearts and souls of every person who hears me sing. To make them feel something if even for a brief moment.”, a small pause followed. “Giving something to others is the best thing we can do.” Her gaze landed on the woman, albeit limited by the smoke that surrounded them. She was curious as to what led someone to have apparently given up on personal goals, on aspirations, on dreams. It sounded like a miserable way of living to her. “To limit ourselves by what was or what could have been, that is no way to live. Hard work and self confidence get us anywhere, even when the circumstances seem grim.” At that point, to some degree, Sheryl was no longer certain whether she was trying to assure herself or the other.

“Your chocolate is okay at best,
but this basic looking lollipop is more than what it is.
Its flavor changes the more you suck it, it’s very tasty!”
“It is more than okay, you didn’t even taste it--! And is it a new brand of lollipop or something of the sort? I haven’t heard about it. Though if you’re complaining about how chocolate isn’t a good Christmas gift, a lollipop isn’t exactly an upgrade you know?”
Snickers.
“Don’t tell me this is what
you got for Christmas.
What I received is WAY better!”
“Ok, look. Despite what it looks like, this chocolate was extremely hard to find. It can’t be found just anywhere in the galaxy, you know?”
“Isn’t cooking all about following instructions? This looks nothing like the picture!”
“I can do a little bit of dancing. I’m afraid I might have some learning to do.”
“I’m sure we can take care of that right now. Show me what you got!”

“I think your music is lovely. Maybe we could sing together some day…?”
“Thank you, I appreciate the comment. And I don’t see why not, two talented people certainly make a better show than just one. Can you dance as well?”
I’m still learning to love the parts of me that no one claps for.

She was going to make him guess? That was the last thing he’d expected. And Sheryl, as Kaneda knew her, was enough of a puzzle already. Trying to figure out something like this about her would be far from easy, that was for sure. But, as ever, he’d give the task his best shot.
“Hmm… this is you we’re talkin’ about… so if I’ve gotta guess, I’m gonna have to keep that in mind.” A hand raised and he rubbed at his chin in thought, brain turning to decipher the answer. “Maybe… Somethin’ like dance or music? I feel like it’s one of those two, more than anything else.” Her point about his shopping idea had to sit on the back burner for a moment; more energy was going toward her little riddle.
“Well, here’s a plan: Go shopping, but buy some skimpy things you’d wear just for me,” he sent a wink the idol’s way, along with a smile. “The more skimpy it is, the easier you can say that it doesn’t count as enough clothes. Right?”
As Sheryl had expected, he had leaned towards the kind of subjects that were related to her field of work. A small smile made its way to her mouth and she took a few steps away from him, for no reason in particular. With her back turned to him, she simply spoke a bit louder than usual.
“Wrooooooong~. You should know by now that I am full of surprises. My talents expand to a lot of areas.”, maybe that was an overreach, considering how little success she had shown in the particular specialization she chose in the academy. A lot of control was needed and she was often too impulsive even during practise. But Sheryl Nome wasn’t a quitter and she would overcome her limitations for sure, no matter how long it took. Unfortunately her lack of time was a limitation she found hard to dismiss.
Of course, a conversation with Kaneda was never fully complete without the usual banter. She turned around and brought one of her hands to her hip, looking towards him. “Oh, so now not only do you want me to go through the hard task that is shopping, you want me to go look for something to suit your tastes.”
“I’m a mechanic at a garage. Specifically, I work on motorcycles, since that’s what I went to vocational school for, a few years back.” He smiles proudly when he says it, fond memories of his time spent clowning around coming back for a moment. “Well, if you want my vote on what to do, go shopping as much as you can. I know how you are about fashion and all.”
“Heh, that does sound like you. So you don’t just like motocycles, you actually do know a lot about them. Can you guess what I went to school for?”, while she had taken care of most of her education in private tutoring, Sheryl had a certain point enrolled in an Academy. It had been quite a commotion. “I could do that, but it’ll probably be such a bother. I keep getting told I have enough clothes already, as well.”
