The gesture, sensuality, fabulosity, drag, boldness, the powerful bodies, fashion illustration is embedded into Jojo's Bizarre Aventure's DNA. The decision to make a shonen like this is what makes jojo such an unique work of art in general. It wears all of its influences on its sleeve, openly and shamelessly, Araki is a completely shameless artist.

Speaking of things I've had lying around in my folder but never really got anywhere with is this au where the countries respresent guardians of the nation, sort of like the legends of King Arthur and Gorm the Old rising to protect the nation during great national peril.

During peacetime (Relative peacetime, that is) they're asleep to conserve energy for when they're really truly needed, which means some of them have been actively asleep for hundreds of years, while others have had shorter periods of time where they've had to sleep and rise more often - Those countries are usually more worn out. Being literally the size of a building kind of takes a lot of energy just to be around.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they're like 40-50 meters tall (130-160ft)

How or why does their clothes just so happen to fit whatever era they're in? It's a mystery, even to me

No but, their size is a way for them to be absolutely sure they are able to rally and can take charge to eliminate practically anything that's in the way. More modern day, like with what you see with Arthur, they're more strategic about it - Arthur would be looking for the PM to tell him to fix it or Arthur may or may not take matters into his own hands, if you get what he's saying.

In the au the threat, however, is a drawn out tension that's nearing a breaking point (Think: current day political sphere tension) and the nations are forced to do some actual thinking and some actual heavylifting for once in their admittedly way too long life.

I wanted to redraw this screencap but with an eldritch-like horror being. Struggled with that because I am terrible at designing those. Then Gabriel came to mind. Who better than Gabriel? No one. I also ended up extending this into a comic because I saw this situation vividly in my head and had to bring it to life. SO in the end, more cross over stuff. This was inevitable, I think.
