Doctor Who Moodboard: Death & The Master

During their childhood, the Doctor and Master (Theta & Koschei), were bullied by a boy named Torvic. In order to save his friend’s life, Theta was forced to kill the bully. He was later confronted by the personification of Death, who wanted him to become her disciple, but he rejected and suggested that Death make his friend her champion instead. 

And that moment was what created the Master: Death’s Champion.

weve got the doctor talking to the menti celesti again making his horrible little bargains. weve got another incarnation of Death, this time a snake like in the little folktale from The Also People. we've also got the doctor directly referencing the hare folktales, in such a way as to imply he understands that the nondiagetic narration of the folktale is referring to him, metaphorically, as the hare. and i will have to talk about my Thoughts about the VNAs gradually making fiction and reality blur together more and more later.

and then of course just more of him trying to solve problems by killing himself, and another reference to him Dying Badly in TVM being his karmic reward. and i love how he knows and understands the terms of his impending death and how it will be his greatest fear and a complete loss of control and hes still trying to keep one last little bit of control over it by begging to die now.

there are a number of worthy contenders for the title 'first gay doctor who companion' but personally i like saying it's Oliver Harper bcos there's just something very funny to me about pointing to well known TV comedian Tom Allen and saying 'he is the first gay doctor who companion'
