I love when someone is explaining instructions to a group I’m in and they look at me and it reminds them to say something about using preferred names/pronouns or that there’s vegan food options available. I go by my given name/pronouns and I’m not vegan but I’m proud that I can provide this service

i was in the supermarket and a guy looked at me and calls over to his wife like "honey what are we having for dinner tonight?" and when she told him he nodded and, still staring directly at my shirt, said "i'll get some garlic bread"

Hardly on the same scale, but the other day I was at the grocery store and went to buy some luncheon meat. I asked for some roast turkey, and the lady at the deli stand looked at me, and questioned if I had asked for turkey, or ham. I clarified, turkey. Didn't think too much of it.

It was only on the bus ride home that I realized I was wearing a shirt that said in all capitals, "HAMS." (And with images of cuts of hams and the names of various types of hams)

Trying to find an old tumblr post I used to see a lot.

It started with someone listing "places with uncanny energy," like gas stations on a road trip, empty movie theaters, etc.

Then someone reblogged it and said those are called "liminal spaces," defining liminal as in-between, neither one thing nor another.

It was the first time I'd seen the term "liminal" applied to places like that, and it's driving me crazy, I want to find and put a date on it so bad.

Predates the 2020 spike in interest by four years

Predates the earliest mention that KnowYourMeme attributes to Twitter by two years

I'm pretty sure this is the moment the term "liminal spaces" was attached to this sort of imagery, and it's TEN YEARS OLD TOMORROW!

I think toymaker would enjoy zoos!

Since he can’t leave his realm..all he had at the time to know what the outside looker liked was the people who somehow came into his realm..they would probably have a few things at least including a small card game too…but not much

In the giggle he didn’t really pay much attention to anything..only the doctor and humanity

He would absolutely be bouncing all over the place wanting to see the exhibits to the point the doctor would be chasing after him AND he would probably try to take a flamingo…

The doctor would try keeping the childish god out of trouble…while on the trip…

He would love petting the sting rays and little ocean creatures too and loving watching all the sea animals…Specially jellyfish!!!

He would just be looking at everything and asking ALOTA QUESTIONS to the doctor

Not too long ago, people would say that the only animals that really knew how to play were, like, dogs, cats, apes and monkeys, maybe dolphins.

But, then we learned that other animals play. A lot of mammals do! And then we learned that dolphins play. And rats play. And otters play.

And then that expanded too. Octopi play. Birds play. Crocodiles play. Heck, bees and wasps play.

So. My point is. Every so often the Toymaker gets an interest in a new animal and introduces games to them. He needs more individuals to win against, after all.
