I'm sorry this is such a gross thing to start a discussion on, but my editor underlined me describing human urine as 'sickly sweet smelling' and said "piss doesn't smell like that." BUT IT DOES! not talking about my own personal piss, but when you're walking around downtown and you pass a piss alley?????? it's very distinctive.

and then I brought this up with my friends, and their answer was "all the alley pissers in Toronto must have diabetes." NO! this is the universal human piss smell!

is this like how some people can smell ants? I have a unique molecule in my nose that lets me experience the full spectrum of human piss?

Sometimes when people try to dismiss the heteronormativity of the weird route they will cite the commonly held idea that hometown is this progressive queer accepting wonderland, and I think that idea is always very silly. Yeah there’s an open gay couple, but Rudy and Berdly both no-homo asgore’s gifts of flowers to Rudy. People will use the right pronouns for you but both ghosts who can’t transition don’t leave their home. Anyone can be voted for festival king and queen regardless of gender, but the titles are still gendered and the only couples we know to have won were straight. Hometown is a progressive leaning suburb that falls short in the way progressive leaning suburbs tend to. You generally won’t be in physical danger as a queer person, but you will remain an afterthought at best.

and thats not even to mention that China put out an open invitation to come tour the alleged concentration camps, which the US refused, many other nations accepted, with many muslim nations noting support for their policies publicly. Or the declining birth rates chalked up to forced sterilization, which was really a result of free birth control, with Uygher muslim population still on the rise at double the national average, or the fact that religious freedoms are explicitly protected in xinjiang, muslims have legal protections against hate speech, something which can hardly even be said for half of the west.
