Minecraft: My World AU
I always knew intuitively that Minecraft Alex was a dyke. This is a woman with a gender neutral name who lives in the woods. She punches trees with her fists. And I believe our interpretations of this character should reflect that
Playing minecraft when I was like 10 I didn't fully know how to describe this vision but I knew in my heart
Minecraft Alex is building a house with her bare hands and digging in the dirt I just don't see her being super into conventional femininity
Absolutely OBSESSED with the implications of the "mourner" pottery sherd being an image of the warden
What if ender pearls are squishy and when you throw them, they splatter on the ground like a water balloon.
Like popping boba or fish eggs.
lumpfish. Very beautiful, very powerful.
Now that @grandmashouse is updated to 1.20, I could finally use the blocks I intended for this build.
minecraft but the world is slowly and noticeably decaying until you kill the ender dragon. hot winds blowing leaves off of trees and mountains being eroded. Lots of land slides and earthquakes as caves and hollow areas randomly collapsing inwards. most blocks exposed to air breaking down to cobblestone and then gravel before blowing away to form dust clouds. icebergs melting but also traveling in the ocean and slamming against shorelines. grass turning to grass path and then coarse dirt. a large percentage of planted crops failing to grow even in good conditions. animals becoming hostile and attacking you and each other. lava tubes underground growing and spreading organically turning the stone around them to magma blocks.
Imagine a minecraft world where the hero is unwilling to kill the dragon and all these effects have had the full time to take effect. There is no more bedrock, just crying obsidian. There is no more strong stone or fine sands. no more mountains or lands. no more wildlife. just a smooth flatland of jagged magma and loose gravel beneath a hot sea of boiling water. The air is filled with malicious clouds of ash and gritty dust, billowing and blowing strongly from every direction. The only thing from the past that remains, a large unnatural octahedron of basalt, continually being withered away on the outside and replaced by automatic redstone machinery. The final outpost. A home. A prison. A tomb.
is herobrine behavior/lore not common knowledge anymore …. has the world really forgotten about the 2x2 tunnels .. trees with their leaves all gone … the sand pyramids in the ocean … the herobrine shrine that would apparently summon him … the lost to time brocraft hoax livestream that further popularized herobrine as a concept (of which herobrine was just a painting from a texture pack, later removed to which the streamer would continue to act freaked out until the end) .. the original forum post from sometime in august 2010 that detailed encounters with a pseudo-player in the distance on a singleplayer world which included this screenshot
does anyone even care at all. about a herobrine so small
whoever is writing the minecraft lore rn needs a raise. bcuz some of the lore- and even just the theories- r so good and it gets. NO recognition
minecraft: "yeah souls have power and they can suck light out of things and there's sand in literal hell that have the screaming dead in them and when combined make a literal demon that rots everything living in sight and in the deep dark there's plants that can detect movement and hisses when broken and there's a warden that protects the caves and can kill you in one hit and it has souls in his chest and it makes a heartbeat sound and all the lights around it flicker off if its near"
us af: "oh okay"
don't forget the giant fossilised remains of god knows what that used to be and also the implications of the fact that villagers turned into zombies look different to the normal ones wandering around that just so happen to look like you. also the endermen speaking thing.
yeah! you can clearly hear them say "what's up" or "hello" when your not bothering them.
and then theres the destroyed bastions and the desert temples and the jungle temples and the ruined portals . what is up with this world we inhabit
"Lightning has transformative powers, gold has regenerative properties so strong it can save you from death, ghasts are trapped in Hell, piglins built the bastions and the zombification virus nearly wiped them out, the ancient peoples created some kind of apocalypse so fucked up it almost wiped out all life and basically severed the link between dimensions, and also none of this is real, the universe is just a story we're telling about ourselves because we're all stories and stardust and not ready to perceive the true nature of existence yet."
Bro.
There is only one mob found in all three dimensions. They speak in distorted words. They can teleport so quickly that no projectile will ever hit them. They roam freely. They roam in a world of villages, of bastions, of mansions, of strongholds, of mine shafts, of fortresses, and of buildings old and vast. Something built these structures.
There is only one mob left that retains the ability to build. To create. Endermen place their blocks haphazardly. Their actions appear random, but they can build all the same. They are the only living creature left that has the power to build. At least until you come along. You are also capable of living in all three dimensions. It hurts Endermen to be perceived by you. You are the only one that can hurt them in this way.
These creatures live in a place called the end, on tiny broken islands in an endless sea of void. Cities can be found on these broken islands. Cities and ships, littered with incredibly high level items. All built with purpose, a purpose that you might never get to understand. There are no people left here. There are no notes, no signs. Nothing left behind to tell the story of what happened but the buildings frozen in time.
The end is the only place survival players can obtain flight. The end is the only place creative players can easily die. The void can kill gods. It is the only thing that can kill gods. It cannot kill the Ender Dragon. You can kill the Ender Dragon. You can bring the Dragon back. You are not the first person to kill the Ender Dragon. You are not the first person to bring it back. Those who came and built cities, those who built ships in the void, those who figured out how to craft wings. They killed the Ender Dragon too. Every ship in the end has a dragon’s head. There are so many ships.
Those who came before you did everything you can do, and more. It did not save them. Yet here you are. You are not special in any singular ability, and yet, for some reason, you have made it here. You have survived. You are here, you are alive, and you are still creating. You are building, changing the world once more, taking apart the old and ushering in something new. Forming bonds in ways no other creatures can.
Those that came before you killed the Ender Dragon countless times. They brought the dragon back countless times.
And yet.
When you kill the Ender Dragon for the very first time, she gives you a gift. She has died countless times before, to countless hands. You aren’t any different, and yet you are. Because you are the first one to receive her egg. It is entrusted to you. There is only one egg. You cannot get it in creative, you can only get it from her. She has chosen you, out of so, so many. She will not tell you why. You are left to find your own answers. To create your own answers. That’s what the game’s all about.
Things that REALLY need to be in the Minecraft 1.20 update:
azalea wood
fixing the way red sand generates (it only generates in a single layer, making it impossible to do anything with it without demolishing a mesa biome) and the way red sandstone generates (it doesn't, at all)
adding mud, packed mud, moss carpets, and moss to existing "older" biomes where appropriate
reeds or cattails for swamps, which can be harvested to craft into thatch blocks for thatch roofs
shelf fungi
aging mechanic similar to copper where cobblestone can become mossy cobblestone over time, and then Mossier Cobblestone that can be sheared for moss carpets
fruit trees. The mangrove propagules have set the stage for apple trees that you can actually pick apples from. Please
Icicles
In fact I would be perfectly happy if the update was JUST this stuff. no new mobs no new mechanics just making the world look nicer
Minecraft idea vomit incoming in no particular order: Sliding, crawling, knocking on doors and trapdoors, arrows being able to shatter glass and glass panes, colored lighting, bricks of all types being able to be cracked by tnt, mossy bricks generating glow lichen or vines in the right environments, the nether having distinct layers of blackstone, gravel, and basalt near the top and bottom, being able to boost using rockets while wearing elytra without having them in your hotbar, projectile reflection enchantment, leeching (steal xp from players and mobs), being able to trident through certain blocks like ice, leaves, glass. malachite (green crystals, smelts into copper), cave lizards and flowers, rice, pottery system, crowns and tiaras, sea vault (giant underwater structure akin to a prison), drowned sometimes latching onto you “hugging” rather than hurting you directly, spiders walking upside down and sideways on walls on deepslate, logs, and leaves. Redstone pockets with pretty red crystals, armadillos, deer, elk, snails, birds, different wolf breeds, paintings becoming unique items rather than random, automated record playing on jukebox, ghostly apparitions in mineshafts, fog and sandstorm as weather conditions, different types of grass including clovers, ancient swords and tools from archaeology, stars and such you can see in the night sky only with spyglass, rocket powered boats and minecarts, drill minecart/automated mining added same time as nerf to iron farm, copper pipes and bellows, iron fans, phantom membrane leather, changes to phantoms in general including making them weaker in the overworld but a stronger variant in the end, rare green eyed endermen in the nether who will barter with you, crying obsidian name-changed to charged obsidian and magmatic obsidian added, both as a result from mob events; charged from charged creeper explosions, dragonfire, wither explosions and lightning. Magmatic from contact with lava for a long period of time, red dragons in overworld depths, underground “sea caverns”, bamboo building blocks, increased crit from 360 rotation in air before hit, shield bashing, sword parrying, explosive and poisonous gas pockets in deep underground, pumpkin pie placeable, apple pie same deal, chocolate cake same deal, golden potato and beetroot.
minecraft gothic
- You are the only one capable of building complex, planned structures. You are alone. You don’t remember building the temples or houses you come across.
- You are alone. You are the only one like you in the entire world.
- Villagers keep their hands clasped beneath long robes. You’ve never seen a villager’s hand. Sometimes you wonder if they have them at all.
- The villagers all have the same empty green eyes. They have completely different anatomy from you. They’re humanoid, but not human. Are you?
- The undead, however, have your face and your clothes. They seem closer to you than the villagers.
- You’re alone. You are the only one like you in the world.
- All caves are the same. You’ve been in a ravine like this one. Maybe you’ve been in this ravine. You’ve visited it countless times. No matter which way you turn, you stumble into it.
- No matter which way you turn, there’s more caves. Sometimes there’s torches. You’ve been here. You still can’t get out. Sometimes there’s not torches. Sometimes you give up escape and decide to explore ever deeper.
- You wonder if you’ve ever seen the surface, or if you were born in these caves with a vibrant imagination.
- You are the only living thing in this world.
- You come across dusty, abandoned mineshafts and rusty minecarts with loot at the bottom. You don’t remember building these or leaving anything behind. You wouldn’t shore up the walls with wooden posts. You know this world better than that.
- Then why does shoring up the walls seem logical? You don’t remember a world before this one. Why does this one feel so strange, sometimes even irrational?
- You’re alone. You are the only one like you in the world. You’re being watched.
- The caves aren’t yours. You’re the only one in them, but they’re not yours. They belong to something else - someone else, and you both know it.
- You’re alone in the world. You’re not alone in the caves. Their breathing and occasional humming echo in the stony corridors.
- Maybe the caves themselves are breathing. Singing.
- You are the only living thing in this world. The world itself, however, is alive.
- You make up stories for everything you build. You forget they’re just stories.
- The world sings to you. You clutch its music close and hope it never stops. In the silence after each song, you’re alone.
- You’re alone. You are the only one like you in the world, for this world is honest. You are being watched, for you are not.
- You’re the only living thing in this world. The world is alive. You are not alive the same way.
- The world exists to for you to live in it, and you think it resents that.
hey op? this is quite possibly the rawest sentence ever written on tumbler dot com and the fact that it came from a post about minecraft will forever haunt me
minecraft has always been this raw though are we forgetting the end credits sequence that like implies the world is all a simulation and the player is a god in tune with the universe
