i gotta be honest with how many minors are in the MCYT community its crazy to me that a majority of the community and its creators are still on Xitter. like. Oh- yeah, be on the site that has a bot that happily generates CSAM of ppls kids? On the site ran by a fascist? Yeah? You want your largely child-and-teen-audiences to engage with you on that platform? You're okay with putting your content on a platform that allows this to happen?

i dont play on public servers really, but ever since i started playing on mcc island i've been having the most delightful little interactions with players which amuses me greatly. People are so playful on there

Been curious and so i'm doing some data gathering. Bonus points if you mention in comments/tags what SMPs were your favourites to watch and why :]

What makes a roleplay SMP interesting to you (as a viewer)?

I mainly watch them for the creators I like

The narrative of the SMP's world itself

The individual character lore of the players

The community around the SMP

The visual presentation of the SMP (world design, builds, textures, etc)

Viewer interactive elements (i.e ARG's)

I don't know but i'm placing dirt blocks anyway

Personal thoughts regarding smp's below the readmore

I actually *rarely* do dedicated watches of SMP's, oftentimes because the vod-format can be quite rough to me. HOWEVER, I play in SMP's (private or publicly watchable) quite often and dedicate myself strongly to roleplay.

For me, a primary reason for not really following an SMP is that as much as I enjoy the creators, I find a lack for what makes these things interesting to me- Narrative. Many SMP's seem to be *very* light on the world lore, which makes it very accessible for a broad audience, but feels like a missed opportunity to get to tell a collaborative story instead.

Consequently this makes SMP's that aren't actually roleplay based more interesting to me, because I don't go in with the expectation to see a narrative. I.e hermitcraft, any content SMP that manifests for a while, the life series. (I do not consider consistent bits a narrative)

Of course, I'm not very in tune with SMP's these days. Especially as I'm not on twitter anymore which seems to still be the home base for all MCYT things being formed.

In all honesty, I think the only recent RP SMP i've become aware of that genuinely had its creator go balls to the walls and be fully honest into its world lore and visual presentation is The Flight, although there I'm just lacking the time to explore whatever POV's are present to really involve myself as a viewer. Perhaps narrative SMP's require more edited content to be more accessible, huh? Something to think about.
