The reason pop culture fans behave so badly, like accusing Zoe of being worse than Hitler, is because pop culture fans believe that everything in the world is deserving of criticism except, ironically, their own criticism. They believe in "holding everyone else accountable", but not in "being held accountable themselves." So, they don't operate under any rules of right and wrong "that might cause our own behavior to be wrong".

Yeah... sad but true.

I just wish people would keep their arguments consistent, you know?

If we're not allowed to criticise a character because they were abused, then why are you criticising another character who was abused?

One thing I really hate when people criticise Andre is that they use the tired old phrase "He's not even related to Zoe."

I mean... of all the things he's done. Being someone Zoe can actually turn to is the least objectionable thing he's ever done. And what happened to "Being related doesn't make you family."

I guess if you have a biological kid, you're never allowed to adopt, ever. And if you do, you have to favour the biological child.

Regarding what you said about nobody standing for anything without pushback, here's a quotation from Matshona Dhliwayo: “To avoid enemies, say nothing; to avoid critics, do nothing; to avoid haters, be nothing; but to avoid mediocrity, ignore all.” In other words, the only way to avoid enemies entirely is to do nothing and express no opinions whatsoever. But that makes you mediocre, so you should say the truth, and then ignore the enemies you make as a result.

I'll never understand why people think screenshotting someone's social media and then encouraging their fans to mock, belittle, and harass them is appropriate.

Look, if someone blocks you. Leave them the fuck alone!

And you know what? Sometimes you DO need a hate-sink villain. You really think anyone on staff likes Valentino?

Of course not. He's a serial rapist pimp. But they keep writing him because he's funny. And sometimes you need a character that's got no redeeming qualities at all to provide a moral contrast.

People who angry that the main character doesn't always know everything is very odd to me, like do they secretly wish to have omniscient character

No. They just hate the character and will get on their case for absolutely anything.

A good example would be Alya from Miraculous. Her salters are just flat out racist and hate her for being black. You know why I can say that with certainty?

Because another character does everything Alya is accused of, and yet she's not treated with the same scorn, hatred, and dismissal. Now what's the main difference between these two characters? It's very subtle, pay attention. It's almost skin deep.

Your lucky you're not in the antis community because few years ago they're discussing about how vivziepop and brandon rogers secretly hate octavia.

While Brandon did make insensititive joke about her and certain tweet vivziepop liked, they don't have other proof beyond that . They're main complain is always about how stolas is infantilized

This is why Twitter is a terrible place to discuss anything. Disregard it completely.

I do kind of agree that Stolas is infantilised a bit. But I think the narrative is giving Stolas enough of a punch in the gut that I don't feel the need to hate on him.

I should judge a show for what it is, not what people claim it is.
