Three: Glorious Masquerade
Oh boy, where do I even start?
If Idia had already admired how Silver looked in the past, in one single home screen line he made sure to simp a little more, in case we all forgot. (I haven't found proper translations for some of these starting now so we will have to cope with google translator.)
And Silver worries about Idia, going as far as showing gratitude to Rollo for helping Idia enjoy the time they walked around the town because he was concerned Idia wasn't enjoying himself.
Then... The Rhythmics.
Yes, Idia doesn't only dance with Silver, but Silver only dances with Idia, TWICE, when Malleus is the one he is obviously the closest to.
Of course you can say they just needed to properly distribute the students, but how many ships can you say have danced together in their source? Malleus/Sebek shippers rejoice as well.
And last but not least, SSR Masquerade Idia vignettes.
When I pulled this card by a miracle on jp twst, I did not expect whatsoever for these vignettes to be ridiculously centered around Silver of all people in this event.
The first part he was the only one (with the obvious exception of Ortho) to try and help Idia prepare for the performance with positive encouragement instead of scolding. (And back to wonky translations)
The screenshots speak for themselves (with what's discernible), with Silver noticing Idia puts himself down so much and wanting to encourage him, even if he ended up adding to the pressure accidentally.
And after the performance Silver went to talk to and compliment Idia in a moment that felt out of some fanfic for me who has loved this pairing for so long, not to mention how much Silver shows he cares about and respects Idia and Ortho's relationship. And apologizing for before to top it all off.
If after all of that you aren't as frustrated as I am by this ship being considered a crack/rare pair, I don't know what to tell you. And with the Diasomnia book around the corner, knowing for certain that Idia and Ortho will play an important role like all the previous dorms did to each following book, I wouldn't be surprised if we got even more material.
And even if we don't, I'm honestly happy enough with how much the Glorious Masquerade event fed us.

Family
Before delving into the Masquerade event, we should first look at the most important thing to both Idia and Silver: their family.
Idia's bond to Ortho is so strong that it hardly needs any explanation for Ignihyde stans, he countless times did things that would have made him uncomfortable or been unpleasant or worsened his social anxiety for the sake of Ortho's happiness.
And Silver's bond to Lilia also needs no explanation whatsoever, he was raised by him and they are both affectionate towards each other, Silver going so far as always talking about how great his father is and constantly smiling - something he rarely does and has mentioned not coming so easily to him - when talking about Lilia and how much he means to him.
And so that makes the bonds between Silver and Ortho as well as Idia and Lilia so important for the ship.
At first one would say only the latter really has any proper material to work with, what with the both of them being gamer bffs and unaware of that fact. But Silver and Ortho started all the way back in Labwear Ortho vignettes and made a big comeback for Fairy Gala IF, as well as the Masquerade event that we will get into shortly.
Both Idia and Silver cherish their family members so much that without a doubt they would admire the same coming from a partner, they would understand why family > most anything else. Silver already showed how he likes that in others by picking Deuce as someone he would have for a sibling and one of the reasons was Deuce's love for his mother.
I'll start off saying that this is in no way an attempt to start a ship war or to say the other ships with the two aren't valid, or that they even have less material because I don't think they do, this is just to point out the AMOUNT of material these two have that has been glossed over or forgotten or maybe just remains unseen by many.

If you already liked this pairing, you know all about these vignettes.
One of the few times Idia openly admires and compliments another guy's appearance, even if Silver was none the wiser.
Iman as Tina Turner and David Bowie as Mick Jagger is something one does not need to live, but it’s still A+ content imo, especially regarding the good chances that Mick saw this dress up
By “diseases,” they mean microbes (MICROBES, not the same as PATHOGENS), that were living their merry lives in water when it began to freeze over.
Yes, we are going to be okay, at least as far as these little friends are concerned. The odds of a microbe that evolved in an aquatic environment THOUSANDS of years ago suddenly up and adapting to infect a human system as soon as it’s thawed are basically zilch. (The megaviridae [big ass viruses] that are the actual subject of the above clickbait infected ancient amoeba. It would take a TREMENDOUS amount of time and selection pressure for these viruses to learn to infect human systems, even by viral time scales.)
You SHOULD be worried about deforestation, especially in rain forests, which has the potential to release microbes that are more than adapted to mammalian systems and are generally happy to make a zoonotic (animal to human) jump, especially those that primarily infect simians. The major hemorrhagic fevers (Ebola, Marburg) were more than likely first exposed to humans after major deforestation.
Everyone keeps making jokes/posts about Total Eclipse of the Heart, so I made this. It made me realize that there’s a lot of dramatic turning in The X-Files.
