January 9th- Top tier marriage Day So 'goroawase' (turning numbers into syllables ) is what I'm mostly using as the prompts. Today is 1 (ichi, i, hito, etc), and 9 (kyuu, gyuu) 1-9 would be 'ikkyu' , and a very well known 4 kanji phrase (yojijukugo), is ikkyuu-nyuukon 一球入魂 , meaning putting your heart and soul into every pitch , a baseball saying. However! Ikkyuu- nyuukon (the way it is said), could also have the kanjis 一級入婚 , putting the best into a marriage, entering a marriage that is the best, or , top tier marriage. Seven Herbs Day- January 7th So traditionally, on this day, in Japan, you eat porridge with seven herbs. This tradition goes back to ancient times when people would pick young greens in the snow during the first week of the New Year to welcome spring. The porridge is eaten to cleanse the alcohol and heavy meals had during the New Year. -------------- The young greens are also referenced in poem 15 of 100 nin-isshu: "For your sake, I went out into the spring fields to pick young greens, while the snow kept falling on my robe-sleeves. " - Which is a love poem. --------------

There's an explanation for the picture, daffodils are also called narcissus (flowers), and in this poem by Basho, you have the daffodil/narcissus and a paper screen reflecting one another, but instead of a paper screen, I used just paper. Playing with the ideas of beauty, and reflecting that beauty on paper.

The goroawase for 13 is 一汁三菜 (ichi1, juu10, san3 sai) 一 ichi (main food/staple dish) ,汁juu (soup), 三菜 sansai (3 dishes) which is what a typical Japanese meal looks like. Here's an irasutoya (free use picture) image of it looks like:

So it's typical Japanese meal, which I represented with characters of maruma. Yuuri being rice, the main food/staple dish, Gunter being the soup (as that's his nickname, the soupy/juicy man because he's always crying/bleeding out of his nose), and the three brothers as the three dishes.

PREDICTION (of something)

2 months of radio silence from the maruma crew - since Takabayashi -sensei said: "Christmas is Cancelled. " when there were no Christmas plans (12-24-2024). It's February 24th, 2025 today. Radio silence. However. My prediction is that something BIG is coming either July or August 2025. I don't think it's a novel. Might be the elusive kkmS manga. Might come with an 'event' as well. Might be a drama cd. I think things are cooking- I can't reveal how, and nono it's not fortune telling- This is my prediction. If I'm right... then I'm right. If I'm wrong, then I'm just an insane person. XD I will leave this here, let's see if I'm right or not. It might even start in June... (...?)
