The Representation Project presents a look at how women in the media were treated this year - some high points, yes, but a whole lotta lows. I don’t agree with everything spotlighted as a negative, but overall, it’s a lot to think about.

To spin it in a positive way - I think recently of Steven Universe, with its three diverse female protagonists; Bee and Puppycat, which raised hundreds of thousands; Wendy Davis’ valiant fight for reproductive rights and its international coverage; Catching Fire and Frozen, which did incredibly well at the box office and feature awesome stories of girls rescuing themselves and each other. What were your favourite high points for women in pop culture this year?

Flow is extremely important. So, so important.

It’s what keeps some people sane. It’s what drives the world’s most skilled and accomplished athletes, the most intense gamers, the hardcore hobbyists, even many of the most talented artists, musicians and actors - flow is what you get when unstoppable drive meets an unflinching will and unlimited dedication.

Flow is being utterly, truly “in the zone”. And it’s one of the most amazing feelings there is. 

This is why finding a sport, or a hobby, or a martial art, or a handicraft, or a new video game, or any skill-based activity that uses focus and requires practice and repetition is so beneficial for things like depression and anxiety and overall mental/physical well-being.

Glamazons vs The Curse of the Chainmail Bikini

A campy card game take down of the visual depiction of female warriors throughout nerdy pop culture.

THIS IS AMAZING! Glamazons is an anti-troupe card game wherein your character (whom is female) fights monsters of all kinds, in order to make properly functional armour out of them (Monster Hunter Style)

You start out in the cliqued Chainmail Bikini, and the winning player, is the first one to fully-dress themselves.

During our Horror Hangout Lucy Morris spoke about the recent success of the Asylum Jam.

Over 250 devs made over 50 games, within 48 hours. The goal was to see what horror could do without the harmful and lazy cliques of the genre: mental hospitals/ asylums, 'deranged' people, depleting the players sanity, needlessly cruel or terrible doctors ect (the list really does go on).
