Cooking is an integral part of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as food is one of the only ways that the player can acquire hearts while out in the environment. However, what makes cooking such an interesting and engaging system of play in the game comes from the fact that its generally imprecise. While it’s definitely possible to create wrong dishes, unless the player has access to a dish that has already been made, it is up to them to experiment and logically figure out what items will work best together. Some of these are obvious, but each food (and its many variants) can only be found by continuously experimenting with the ingredients the player finds around the world.
