âDid someone call for me?â
Iâm going to be dropping most of my threads, cause Iâm not feeling anyone and Iâm also going to be working on Naotoâs pages a bit to see if I can figure out what exact direction Iâm going to be taking her.
Attaining one's dream requires a stern will and unfailing determination
[The Magician] || [Asks] || [Regulations]
Starter call?
   That response was probably the last thing he expected, but then maybe that was the problem all along. If she did so much to lie to him, and then had to force herself to tell him the truth, itâs clear she didnât think he was really so worthy of knowing it. The others apparently knew though, and were comfortable with it, and her enough to lie to him about it. But then, they were all friends, and if her telling him to shut up is signifier enough, heâs clearly not a part of that group. Â
  Not to her at least, and that thought is enough to truly shake him. He thought thatâ with the male Naoto at least, that they were friends. Close even, but between this apparently being the truth and how sheâs acted since revealing it, this has to be how she truly is. The avoiding, the running, this cruelty, it must be who she really is. Here he thought she wasnât like so many others that he feared were just dealing with him, but it seems sheâs just the same. Maybe he shouldnât care, just as sheâd said before, but he still wasnât so keen on being deceived.Â
  He doesnât have to let this be a mistake. He can just⊠he can keep his issues to himself. They can justâ they can go back to normal. He isnât hurt, he can⊠he can make himself trust her and the others still. He can act like nothing is wrong, since apparently they shouldnât. All of that he can handle on his own. They are called âpersonal problemsâ for a reason, after all.
âN-no it doesnâtâ It shouldnât be. It wasnât stupid. Can we just⊠go back to normal? Not with you having to lie of course, but everything else. Us being friends.â
   Originally, he had more to say. So much more, in fact. Her response was enough to essentially void any plans he had of how to approach this, and he was left scrambling to say something, anything, instead. What he managed wasnât quite what he wanted, and it wasnât nearly as eloquent or persuasive than what heâd planned originally, but it was something. It was the main point of what he wanted all along and heâd have to just allow this to be what he put forward.
Naoto went from tormented to just terrified, she saw the transparent figure of her Shadow just standing there. It was bad enough when she could hear the whispers of her Shadow in her head, but to actually see it was just terrifying. She was about to open her mouth to warn Yosuke of the danger, then the Shadow just shook her head with a twisted smile on her face. She started shaking in her spot, Yosuke the only thing that was separating her from her Shadow.Â
âDonât bother letting him know Naoto. Only you can see me, only you can hear me, only you know that Iâm back.â
The Shadow taunted the Magician walking closer to the duo with no one pointing it out. Naoto didnât know what to do as her eyes darted around, her mind shifting from listening to Yosuke to a flight or fight mode. She didnât know if her Shadow was going to try to kill her again in this world, and she wouldnât let Yosuke see it, or get in the way. She remembered that she had one last line of defense against the Shadow as she shut her eyes.
âYour me and Iâm you, your me and Iâm you, your me and Iâm you.â
She muttered quickly just praying that would be enough to get the Shadow to go away again. To leave her alone, but to the Magicianâs dismay the Shadow was there when Naoto opened her eyes.Â
âThat only works if you believe it Naoto, which I know you donât. So why fight me? Youâve seen what happens when you try to let people know that Naoto Shirogane is really a girl, how do you know that the others donât think the exact same thing and just kept their mouth shut because they needed numbers? How do you know your precious partner doesnât think the same way that Yosuke-kun here does? They donât even need you anymore, Yosuke-kun has wind skills and Yukiko has buffing skills. Your too small do do any serious physical damage like Teddie and Rise and your healing skills are pathetic next to Chieâs. So there is no reason for them to keep you am I right?â
The Shadow continue to talk, as Naoto just didnât even hear what Yosuke said, as the Shadowâs words that have been eating at her the last few days were finally breaking her. She covered her ears and shook her head frantically, not like that was going to do her any good. She just wanted everything to stop, especially her Shadow talking.
âShut up, shut up, shut up! Just go away, I donât want you here, Nothing you say is true! Just go away!â
She yelled at the Shadow that stood behind Yosuke. Her body language was anything but normal as she looked for an escape route, and the moment she saw an opening she bolted from the area leaving all of her stuff behind and her blue TV World glasses fell out of her pocket and hit the ground. The Shadow smiled watching itâs host run off and started to fade away. But if Yosuke was paying enough attention he would hear itâs parting words.
âThank you for everything Hanamura Yosukeâ
âWeâll be alright, though. We can look in the most common places, first. I think we should start near where we first found her.âÂ
They thought that would be the best course of action, ruling out the most common places first and foremost before moving onto other areas. They would find Yukiko no matter what. Leaving a team member lost wasnât an option.Â
âCheck there, the dungeonsâŠit might take a fair amount of scouting.â And they might have to work without navigation this time. âIf we donât find her this round, weâll gather the rest of the team and do it that way.â
With no way of reassuring her entirely, this was the best Souji could do. Finding Yukiko wouldnât be an easy feat with such a large expanse of world to explore⊠And splitting up was no option, either.Â
âI agree, and I can take us to the Twisted Shopping District. I could never forget that path later.â
She replied to the other sighing, really not wanting to go back there. But for Yukikoâs sake she knew that she just had to bite the bullet on this one and go. It wasnât until she started talking that she realized how tightly she had her weapon gripped and took a deep breath to calm herself and her grip loosened slightly.
âI can scout, Iâm small and quick and Jiraiya just makes me faster.â
She replied as she could feel Jiraiya there beside her, reasuring her just a little bit. But in this situation, any little bit counts a lot as she prayed that Yukiko was safe and sound wherever she was.
âI hope we can find her quickly and not have to gather the team since that takes time for everyone to get out of their commitment. But lets get going then.â
âYosuke-kun is at it again. Please be nice with him.â
Iâm not quite HUMAN anymore, but Iâm still MYSELF!
Let's be cruel.
Send my character the meanest, most cutting insults and remarks you can think of.
  This time it was his turn to cut someone off. After sheâd pulled the same move on him time and time again, it almost seems funny to be on the other side of this interaction, but nothing causing it is funny. Not in the slightest. Maybe, maybe they can laugh about this later, but in his mind, the best case scenario would be being able to put this behind them entirely, never to bring it up again.Â
  Heâd tried to catch her to have this conversation during their break for lunch only to have trouble even finding her, and not for lack of trying. She had to have been avoiding him for something. Or moving around. He was nothing less than thorough in his search. With his plans to steal her for lunch thwarted heâs found himself waiting just off to the side of the schools gate. There was no other way out, sheâd have to pass him.Â
  He was too angry, too upset⊠He was too everything to get any real explanation about what he was told yesterday. Though if he was given one, it was lost to him in the nearly ceaseless echoing of  âlieâ and âforcedâ that filled his head since the previous day.Â
  He definitely had no idea that she-any of his friends had the ability to crush him so thoroughly but damn it, there had to have been some sort of reason for it. As tempting as it was to do so, he canât afford to truly stew on it now, if he did heâd be lost to his more raw emotions and would be unable to get any answers, again. No, he needed to keep this numbness heâs forced on himself to get anything done.Â
  And there she was, apparently in a rush to leave, but with a few strides he catches up with her easily and gets a grip, likely too tight, on her upper arm. He roughly pulls her aside, she puts up some fight but none hat he couldnât outdo with some effort. He only stops moving once theyâre in a far corner of the fence surrounding the school building. It feels cruel, and even predatory to trap her this way, but he canât afford any early exits. Not if he wanât to be rid of this pit in his stomach.Â
âWhyâ Why did you lie?â
  He could start simple. Work into more complex lines of questions as they move along. Heâs not entirely sure how heâs doing, but he canât afford to not retain information the way he did before. His voice is initially angrier than intended, and he pauses to adjust his tone, putting one thats more calm, genuinely questioning. Itâs not genuine, but itâs not the biggest lie between them. Itâs a necessary one anyway, he canât afford to be too confrontational. Not yet at least.
Naoto was too distracted with the voice that was whispering to her in her head to even notice that Yosuke was near her. Well not until she felt a rough grab on her arm and panicked for a split moment before she realized that what grabbed her wasnât dangerous, it was Yosuke. The main person she was trying to avoid, and she struggled to get away. She didnât verbally call out because she knew that he wouldnât hurt her... well at least she hoped that he wouldnât hurt her.
âHow can you know for sure heâs not going to pull the exact same stunt like he did yesterday?â
Her Shadow asked her and she just tried to block out those words, she got nearly no sleep because of her Shadow constantly waking her up. She hasnât seen her Shadow in the real world yet... but the voice was just too similar to be anything else. She just gritted her teeth and tried to ignore the voice, that was just getting harder and harder to do.
âHow do you know that those friends that you have arenât just going to drop you? They probably only accepted you all that time ago because they needed power. But with the team at eight Iâm sure they donât need you anymore. Your destined for loneliness.â
âShu...shut up.â
She muttered to herself as she was forced to go wherever Yosuke wanted to take her. Which she didnât have a single clue where that was, then they stopped and he cornered her. She knew that she was much smaller than him, and this position just reminded her that she wasnât in a position to fight back, like a weak girl. She didnât look at him as she thought how to respond. Nothing about her right now, showed any signs of Naoto being ok, like her normal self.
âWhy... why do you care? It was stupid of me to say anything.â
She muttered looking away from him and then thatâs when she saw it. Her eyes went wide, those golden glowing eyes staring right back at her. She didnât say anything as all she could focus on was the transparent figure of her Shadow, dressed in well a very revealing blue dress.Â
Emergency commissions!!!
megikaja:
chromnifico:
Hi my name is kana and Iâm a dirt poor college student needing extra money to pay my bills because my two jobs wonât give me enough hours to survive Iâve opened up commissions to help me out!!! PLEASE LOOK HERE IF YOUâRE INTERESTED. If you canât afford it or arenât interested PLEASE reblog this to spread it around!!! If you are interested please either message me here OR EMAIL ME AT [email protected] Thank you so much!!!
Please, please help spread this around. My friend, Kana, can really use the help. Her art is absolutely amazing and she deserves the recognition. More importantly, she is going through a very, very, very hard time and she can use as much income as she can get. Two jobs + being a full time student is not easy, and im sure we can all relate to needing some extra cash. If you cant afford to make a commission, please, please, please, please pass this around! liking it wont be any help. but reblogging it can at least get it around. I donât usually reblog signal boosts like this, but Kana is very important to me, and it would mean a lot to me if someone helped out.Â
There was something off about the Magician at school today, normally she every energetic and always talking. Yet today she was anything but that, she was quiet, kept to herself and looked like hell. It was clear that she didnât sleep well last night. She was purposely avoiding everyone that she knew and when class was over she got up quickly and tried to get off campus as quickly as possible.
âItâs been a day since the incident... and no one has come to see you. Are they really your friends?â
âShut up and go away.â
She mumbled under her breath at that all too familiar voice in her head. She wasnât paying attention, and she prayed that no one would stop her from leaving.
The first thing that Naoto did when she got home was run upstairs and shut her bedroom door and lock it shut. Then she reached into her pocket and pulled out her cellphone. Since the case started she never turned it off.. until now and she left it on the table with her TV World glasses and just dove onto her bed quietly started crying to herself.
âSome friend hun?â
A voice whispered in the broken Magician as her head shot up and looked around to see if anyone was there in the room with her. There wasnât anyone there as she just put her head back on her pillow. She just shrugged it off as just hearing things and just lied there crying softly to herself.
With Naotoâs head burried in her pillow she wouldnât notice the transparent figure smiling to itself behind her. It was her Shadow just grinning at how weak her host was and knew that she could push the Magician even farther now that she was out.

âYouâre⊠Youâre kidding, right?â
  This has to be a joke. It couldnât be anything else, no one would be this cruel. Who would- who could do something this cruel. Make him question himself like this, and even beyond that just⊠Why would she lie about it all? Why would all of their friends lie?
  This group, itâs all he has. They know that, everyone in this damn town knows that, but somehow she didnât trust him? Heâs trusted all of them, especially Naoto with so much! Heâd- He has no secrets from them! Even what secrets heâd hoped to keep she held him to the fire and forced him to tell her! What kind of hypocritical garbage is this? This, it has to just be a joke. Another one of the not well thought out pranks that heâs come to expect from Naoto. But then againâŠ
  He knows that heâ She isnât lying to him, or maybe she is, how would he know? Heâs been duped before. Sheâs the best damn liar he knows, and to have all his friends do the same⊠They mustâve been laughing over what an idiot he was this whole time. And here he was worried about her! God, heâs so stupid!
  And what kind of stupid shit⊠Force herself to tell him? She couldâve just not lied in the first place! Sheâ The tears that were threatening to fall before do exactly that now, but rather than concern itâs rage. Lying to him, making him into a fucking joke, making him soâ He growls now, not quite able to form words. If this were a guy, which apparently isnât the case,, heâd punch him. Instead, his hands ball into fists at his sides, so tight, and so angry, he can feel a distinct pain in his palms and his arms shake from the force of it.
âThis isââ
  Heâs found his voice, but not the words. He moves a hands up to run through his hair, but he canât bring them to relax, and instead finds himself rubbing his fists at the sides of his head. It only serves to sink him further into his rage. He squeezes his eyes shut and grits his teeth while sucking in an angry breath.  Â
  After several tense moments of him forcing himself to breathe deeply, a habit heâs been trying to pick up, he opens his eyes. Now though, instead of the earlier rage, his expression is only hurt. The rage is, without a doubt still there, but itâs been buried. For now at least. He just needs to remove himself from this situation. Maybe- Hopefully distance, will make this less of⊠whatever it is.
âOkay.â
  He couldnât think of anything else to say in this. He understands what she said. Heâll just recognize that and leave. Itâs all he can think to do right now without making things worse. What was she even expecting from him? Was he meant to justâ No. Heâs not going to dwell on this right here, otherwise heâll find himself seething again.Â
Naoto knew that this was a massive thing to let someone else know about, well at least from her perspective. This was the single most important secret she kept next to the case. Everything else she almost wouldnât mind telling everyone else. But doing this, this is putting herself out there, shedding her protective armor... the facade of a male Naoto Shirogane to reveal the soft, weak, and true appearance of Naoto Shirogane as a female. She didnât know what to expect of the otherâs response, because for some reason he seemed a bit different than the others. She didnât know exactly why that was, maybe it was because they both worked at Junes or something along those lines.Â
But his first words just shook her, she knew that she never talked about her Shadow and the only two that saw it was Souji and Yukiko. But after everything, she was hoping, no praying that his response would have been a bit better. She was expecting surprise, since this was a big secret and an important one to her. To just get a response of is this a joke was just devastating to her. She thought that Yosuke knew that when push came to shove and things got serious that she wouldnât joke around. But clearly she was wrong, very, very wrong. There was a lump in her throat that she forced herself to swallow. She just stood there waiting, hoping that he would be ok with this, to try and understand why she did this.
But as he talked it was clear that she was wrong, if anything it seemed to her that she upset the younger boy by coming clean. But she was just too shaken to even try and come up with words for his reaction. As this was the most negative reaction to her coming clean out of everyone in the group. She didnât know if that okay she got was one saying, âfine whatever I donât care anymoreâ or if it was a âsure I get what you are saying and Iâll respect itâ. But she made no moves to stop him from walking away, once he was out of sight she just pulled her hat down and turned to run all the way home. Resulting in some confused stares as she ran, tears just coming out of her eyes.
~~~~
Where she once stood, a form started to manifest. The form knew that no one but Naoto who was currently very much out of sight could see. A smile crept onto itâs face as it stared down the path that the detective took.
âHanamura Yosuke... I will thank you later for letting me free.â
The form spoke to itself as it turned to the direction that Naoto ran off to and faded from view. The golden eyes glinting with new found enthusiasm.Â
Souji gave a quick glance around too before slipping their own glasses on and climbing through to the other side after Naoto had entered. No sense in wasting time if she was sure she was ready so they needed to get on with it before anything bad happened.Â
âDonât let your guard down,â They chimed when they were through, brushing off their clothing. Knowing she must be worried, the leader wanted to ensure Naotoâs safety as well, but surely she could be trusted with that.Â
âOf course partner.â
She replied shrugging the tote bag off her back and unwrapped her tonfas and pulled them out. She took a deep breath knowing that she couldnât let her emotions take control of her actions right now. If she did then things wouldnât end well for her, Souji or Yukiko.
âI donât know where to look for her to be honest... I really didnât think this through.â
She admitted to Souji looking down, with the bag full of medical suplies and other standard items in the bag.
âOkayâŠâÂ
He pushed off with one foot just as Naoto had done. However, unlike Naoto he began to wobble and wave his arms in order to keep balance. It was honestly quite hilarious. The tall, stoic teen who rarely talked was wobbling on a skateboard.Â
It was amusing to say the least to see the other just struggling with the skateboard. She knew that at this point she really couldnât help him since itâs all about balance.
âThatâs it Zen. Itâs all about balance now.â
ăYosuke-kună
âI canât say how much I appreciate this, Senpai. I donât feel like I deserve this at all. I still feel I was at fault the other day.â He raises his arms and gestures toward his torso.Â
âIâm sorry I couldnât dress as well as you to match.â He was wearing his normal outfit, the most dressy clothes he owned. A vest and button up top beneath his jacket and dark jeans. âItâs really all I have right now. I hope thatâs alright.âÂ
He drops his arms and walk over to her and in his best effort to be gracious and friendly, throws an arm around the girls shoulders.Â
âSo where exactly are we headed?â
âNo itâs fine, it was mostly my fault so I figured this would be a good way to say sorry. But donât worry about it, I didnât tell you about it so you wouldnât have known. I think you look perfect.â
She admitted knowing that the other didnât have a ton of income after the thing with his parents and then the police force and such. But she didât mind, she thought that he looked great and she really enjoyed seeing him dressed like that. When he put his arms around her, her eyes went wide in surprise and she blushed a bit.
âUm.. my house. He offered to take us in his car so we donât have to pay for a taxi and no one would see us on a train... He also said he had some errant to run in Okina anywaysâ
