Heads up,

I think I'm going to be either deleting this account or leaving it in an archival state and moving away from the LoZ fandom entirely. I've mentioned before that I'm not having fun, but I think that's really solidified for me in the recent weeks. I think my time in this community is better enjoyed lurking, rather than directly contributing.

I have other socials that I am fully comfortable giving out to my mutuals upon request, so this isn't a final goodbye.

My bsky under the same username (ganonfan1995) will continue to be active and eventually be converted to a different handle. I'm looking forward to exploring my own projects more, which will focus on concepts better suited to the person I am now. My bsky is an 18+ account, I no longer want to create art with an all-ages/strictly SFW appeal.

This is not to say that I haven't had a wonderful time participating in this fandom, I've grown a lot since 2019 and I'm forever grateful for all the love and support everyone has shown me in this time. Rather, as I'm entering a new decade in my life, my goals and ambitions towards my work have shifted and the joy I've once felt creating for this fandom has slowly dimmed.

Thank you for coming on this journey with me, and I look forward to entering a new era!

No one can say what went wrong, only that she was lost, and with her, a precious light that has not graced this world since days long considered legend. Is the Princess still alive somewhere? Does she watch over these lands from afar, like an angel called home to her mothers, the Golden Goddesses who themselves play no role in the world anymore?

All the magic they gifted us through her has faded. Some believe it never existed at all.

Now that this fic has made a lot of people cry (yay!) here's a fun insider fact:

My initial idea for The Girl in the Crystal was a full, multi-chapter fic that followed Ganondorf's attempt to prove to the world that Zelda was the lost holy princess of legend. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that dragging this out into a full-fledged story made it lose a lot of its magic.

So when my original ideas for the Winged Zelda prompt fell through, I realized just what I could do with this idea. The first sentence took on the fairy tale vibe, and just like that, the magic had returned.

If you haven't read it yet, strap yourself in for an emotional ride that may leave you just a little devastated.

hi im back with more zelgan. i wanted to play with contrast and also a very old arranged marriage au i used to have, where zelda and gan were thought to be the embodiments of the sun and the moon

It's a little hard to see because they are not very intense, but i made a freckle edition (i will post it separately later if you like)

The gazebo stands on a tiny hill, one lone birch tree next to it. It looks haunted and so empty without its usual occupant dropping sugar into her tea and circling her teaspoon, out for more gossip, eyes glinting. The clinking of porcelain is another sound to its daytime symphony. For now, only cicadas and rustling leaves make up her company.

Zelda steps closer, circling the stone table set in the middle of it as she lets her fingers caress the carved patterns on it, registering every raised line. A nonsensical pattern to her, but according to Rauru it meant something – what, she had already forgotten again. Must have been something mundane.

„The Lady is also unable to find respite on this beautiful night?“

A nightly encounter will change Zelda's and Ganondorf's fate forever, after months of looming around each other. The Blood Moon's rise plagues the mind after all.

Time for our first Meet the Contributors Zelgan Week feature! @imagineaspen (imagineaspen on AO3) on their Day 5 - Mythology/Music Contribution: Ganondorf became one of my favourite Zelda characters the moment I saw him playing that organ in Ocarina of Time, so of course I had to share an excerpt from my fic for Mythology/Music. I like to think that music is something that both Ganondorf and Zelda share a deep love for and find comfort in, especially their Ocarina of Time incarnations. Anyway, this will be my first time participating in any kind of fandom event and personally I doubt there’s a better one to start with. :)

First Look: When Zelda lifted her head, the last note fading out, Ganondorf’s eyes were closed. She watched the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed; she’d rarely seen him more relaxed. She set the harp down at her side.

Abruptly, his eyes opened.

“Dance with me, Sheik,” he said.

“Er – what?” she said. His lips thinned. “When I was here before, they were always throwing parties, dancing and drinking and gorging themselves on food while my people suffered. Well, I am king now.” He waved a hand and she heard music once again, sounding like it came from everywhere and nowhere. He then extended that hand to her. “So dance with me.” Utterly insane, Sheik thought. Zelda took his hand. Check out more during Zelgan Week, when the full story will drop on September 26th!
