hxetaek:
“it’s nice to meet you jihwa,” hoetaek replies with a friendly smile, adjusting the strap of their bag before the slip their hands into the pocket of the long black skirt their wearing, shifting their weight from one foot to the other. “sorry if my method of helping was a bit weird, when you’re a witch in a place where there’s werewolves and vampires and all kind of intimidating creatures, you sort of find your own little tricks to get by,” they explain with a sheepish chuckle.
“so, where are you headed? it seemed like you were trying to get somewhere in a hurry, do you need a guide? I’ve been around here for a while I know a fair few short cuts.” normally they wouldn’t offer so much help to a stranger, but jihwa seems harmless enough (although, hoetaek should probably know better then to judge a book by it’s cover around here, but they’ll take their chances), and with nothing for them to do now that class is over, they figured they might as well try and make a friend. “though if you’re good, I can leave you alone too, don’t want to disturb you if you have to hurry off,” they add quickly, not wanting to seem annoying with their offer.
She nods her head in a gentle gesture. painted fingertips wiggling a bit in anxiousness. Jihwa needed to warm up to people, she knew, but it took her a minute nonetheless. “It’s okay, it was funny how quick they moved.” She says, her voice gentle and almost like a whisper. It was no doubt that Jihwa had a quiet voice, she wasn’t used to speaking above it and the new-ness of the situation wasn’t helping either.
“I have an alchemy class...” She tries, her voice sounding just the slightest bit louder than before. (After all she did want to make friends.) Though the minute they start to go off into a small tangent, she blinks unsure of how to handle the ramble, “no no, i think i’m running late. So if you want to help that’s fine! I’d appreciate it.”
jintingfei:
Tingfei had gotten more than used to the overcrowded hallways over the past five years. Too many people trying to get to too many places who were all far too stubborn for their own reasons. Though a quiet soul he had gotten used to just barging his way through whatever groups were trying to block him from his destination that day even if it led to a few hisses and insults thrown his way. Maybe that’s why the sight of a face he hasn’t seen before struggling with this exact problem catches his attention. It only takes a few seconds for Tingfei to decided to help the girl with her predicament. His hand gently landing on her arm as his other quickly twirls in a way that makes the group in front seemingly blow into the closest wall. “Come on.” He says gently, weaving the pair of them through the crowded hallway until they finally make it to somewhere a lot more deserted. “Not to be rude but if you ever want to get somewhere on time in this place you’re going to have to get used to being a bit more forceful.”
It all happens to fast, or at least... that’s what she thinks. If she had been a lot more comfortable and in her.. element, she’s sure she would’ve done something more..forceful, to use his own words. But because the walls were all so new to her, she felt.. tentative about how she would come across if she just tried things any which way she chose. The whole purpose of her coming was to h i d e the fact that she was from the (Again arguably) most powerful coven, not bring attention to it. She’s sure she’s going the right direction though, at least until they take a few twist and turns and she’s too intimidated to say it’s the wrong way. Her books curl tighter into her chest, smile slowly tugging as she looks at him with a grateful nod, “Right.. I’m just new.. so it’s.. hard figuring out what I can and can’t do.”
ellixnx:
Just by the others reaction Elliana could already tell that the other was a fragile thing, she raised an eyebrow when the pink haired girl bowed at her “ No problem, you don’t need to bow and please don’t apologize on my behalf because I don’t feel sorry at all and if he is going to cause problems then it will only get worse for him “ she replied with a small grin “ you’re okay though yeah ? “
She couldn’t say she wasn’t slightly intimidated. After all she had only been there for two days and it was an extremely new environment, Jihwa had hoped that of all things, she’d get used to it the more she settled in, but she was impatient and that definitely took time. She sticks her bottom lip out unconsciously, frowning at the thought that she shouldn’t apologize but she was still thankful for the other. “Yes, I’m okay. Are you?” it would help just a little, if Jihwa’s Korean improved But she just didn’t know what to say.
ellixnx:
Elly was regretting her decision, she should have just gone into the water and get to her destination that way but no she wanted to see what it was like walking down the hallways like everyone else. Never again was she going to do that if it was like that all the time. The siren huffed as she was walking behind a pink haired girl who was struggling in getting through. Elliana wasn’t annoyed at the girl she was annoyed at the people who didn’t seem to move considering that other people are walking down the hall trying to get to where they are going “ Yah ! just move to the side idiot, this hall isn’t a place to stay still like a rock “ she commented to the person that the pink haired girl was trying to slide past. The person heard her and glared at her but moved so there was more space.
The sudden shout started Jihwa if anything, eyes opening wider at the suddenness of the voice and surprise. Countless thoughts began to run through her head as that sudden feeling began to bloom in her chest, so she apologizes on the other’s behalf, continuing on to shuffle past the the male before turning around to face the other, and give her a proper bow, “Thank you.” She says, holding her books tighter to her chest, “I hope that person doesn’t give you problems.. I apologized on your behalf. So hopefully..”
hxetaek:
there were way too many people here, hanging out in the hallways with seemingly no desire to move, which makes it safe for hoetaek to assume that theirs wasn’t the only class that got cancelled. this isn’t a totally unusual occurrence, there are a lot of students here and sometimes the halls get clogged as a result, most of the time all you really need is a little bit of patience. and with the rest of their day now free for whatever, hoetaek has all the patience in the world. it seems like it’s a different story for the girl in front of them though, as hoetaek watches her try to navigate through everyone. she gets stuck though, the guy she’s asking to move apparently not hearing her, and hoetaek takes pity. they’ve been there, enough times that they’ve come up with a solution they carry around with them.
“here, let me help,” they say, moving so they’re standing next to the girl, and leaning in so she can hear them, reaching into their bag and rummaging around until they find the potion they’re looking for. “sometimes you have to get creative around here. hold your nose,” they tell her, opening the vial and tipping a drop of dark green liquid onto the floor, before quickly closing it again with one hand and squeezing their nostrils shut with the other. the effect of the potion is almost instant, a foul smell like rotten eggs suddenly filling the hallway. it’s gross, but it has the desired result as suddenly all the students around seem to practically disappear in their haste to get away from the smell. “come on,” they say to the girl, their voice nasally through their squished together nostrils, as they lead her down the now, mostly empty hallway. “I’m hoetaek, by the way,” they tell her once they’re far enough for the smell not to reach them. “and you’re… new?” they take a guess, considering the fact they’ve never seen this person before in their life.
Brown orbs widen and pink lips pout a bit in surprise; expecting anyone to help wasn’t only a bit in entitled ( or at least, she thought so.) but also just genuinely unexpected though she was grateful for the help either way. Jihwa wasn’t much of a talker, she found silence among friends comfortable and she strives for the friendship in which she wouldn’t have to say much if anything for the other to understand where they’re coming from. So it was’t surprising at least when she gives him a simple nod and does as she’s s=told, a few single pitch hums of agreement or confusion slipping past her lips.
There’s a curiosity in her though, interested in just exactly how he’s going to help.-- To then which she’s surprised at the potion he pulls out. She didn’t think she would meet another witch.. or .. warlock so soon. She finds herself following him, blinking in surprised from the sudden situation as her pink locks bounce with each step but she’s amused nonetheless, gentle smile on her face as they stop far away enough from the smell. “Yes.” She says with a definite nod, “I’m Ting--Jihwa.”

the laugh that bubbles out of his throat, he can’t help it. neither can he help the bright smile on his face. he thinks it’s kind of strange though. it’s not that often that his heart feels so light or at ease- in fact, he really can’t remember the last time he ever let his emotions run so freely. but then again, maybe it was the atmosphere. seated by an open window, the breeze coming and going every now and then. the sunlight filtering in and shining down on him. he’d always been fond of warm and breezy afternoons.
or maybe it was his company- jihwa seated across the table from him and equally bright smile on her face. it was safe to say that he was fond of the young witch as well.
though he hadn’t known her for very long, upon bonding with the younger and getting to know her, she’d started to resemble something akin to a younger sibling to him. it was a strange thing to feel like he had someone that he could consider family again, but it was a feeling that he wouldn’t trade for the world. letting his laughter die down, he spoke up after a moment, amber eyes sincere. ❝ i hope you’re enjoying yourself, ❞ he mused aloud.
In all honesty Jihwa hadn’t thought she was that funny, but she’s glad she can make the other laugh one way or another. She had only been here for a few days, at most and it had made her happy that she at least had someone she could decently call a friend now. It made the torture of living on campus a lot easier than had already been. She didn’t know where most things were, or the quickest way to get from A to Z but having someone she could joke about it with made her days brighter.
Speaking of which, her brown hues reflect warm tones of yellow and brown, as she looks at the people passing by, werewolves, Veelas and other warlocks just to name a few of the species she saw out of the window. She was surprised in the jump of warmth, but she enjoyed it none the less. Spring was her favorite season for many reasons.
Her eyebrow raises gently, taking some time to sip on the warm mug of hot chocolate that sat ever so delicately in her hands. Her eyes brighten up a bit, forming small crescents as she smiles at the warmth and sincerity in his statement. It made her feel good. “Of course I’m having fun.” She says, setting the porcelain mug on the matching saucer , “I hope you are too.”
The hallways was quite crowded, littered with loitering bodies as it seemed like class for the day had suddenly been cancelled, or over--- to which it was, Jihwa didn't know. After all she was extremely new to the campus (Just two days old, a freshman through and through.) and the probability to cancelling things was something she hadn’t ever heard of. But either way, she was going to go and return this book to the library---Unless it wasn’t open. Would she get a penalty?? Today was the last day to return it, but how is she supposed to return it if the library’s closed? The pink haired girl sighs, lost in her own thoughts as she tries to navigate her way through the people, too scared of bumping into the wrong person. "Excuse me..” Jihwa says softly, large book pressed up tightly against her chest as she tries to slide past the person in front of her.
