he could’ve been grumpier, definitely was possible, but he supposed that it was a lucky thing that he’d at least had a good amount of sleep since he’d fallen asleep. so that was definitely a plus here. but kuro was surprised to see it being tingfei who the fox had ended up ranted to, and he didn’t exactly know him all that well, but kuro knew nearly all witches and warlocks that came to keisung at this point. perks of being a familiar that just wanted to help out, and just spent a lot of time around them in general. “maybe to you.. but sleeping on a table rather than a soft surface is killed on the back, no matter what form. ” kuro huffed out, sitting on the edge of the table now instead. “ugh.. they could’ve woken me up instead of just putting me on the table..”

Tingfei’s smile only grew as he listened to Kuro, his eyes crinkling slightly before he finally decided to stop reading the water divination book in front of him and focus on the familiar instead. He was a lot more interesting that was for sure. “I don’t understand why you haven’t just started investing in getting yourself a pillow for each room, so you can sleep on it in fox form.” He said with a small purse of his lips.  “They said something about how you would wake up grouchy and they didn’t want to be around for it. And considering the rant you just went on, I don’t think they were entirely wrong.” The young warlock could feel his need to laugh at the whole situation come up again but he managed to settle for just an amused smile at the situation of the other.

           there weren’t many people that knew of dongmin’s favourite place, in fact, he was certain nobody knew of it. it was in a secluded area, an area that was definitely prohibited. but did he care? of course not, he was a demon, after all. he didn’t care about anything. it was late at night, the sky was dark, the clouds slowly floating by as the moonlight glowed down at him. you could say it was the only glow on dongmin, his dark hair and everyday dark attire giving the opposite effect. he knew there wouldn’t be anybody around this time of night, so he knew he had no fear of being himself and working on his art. he found some sort of freedom of cooping himself up on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the view and the nightlights beaming. the soft echo of late drivers in the distance, the sound of the wind flowing by, the leaves against the tree flowing. it was relaxing, he enjoyed it so much. with his drawing pad in his lap, his left hand clasping onto the corners while his right hand held his pencil, he worked on his art. his hand flew freely, quick and smooth strokes against the paper as his eyebrows and forehead were creased in concentration. after a few minutes of sketching, he quickly flipped his drawing pad shut with a loud noise.

raising his head up, he didn’t need to turn around to know there was somebody amongst him, which was highly unusual. “i know you’re there.” his cold, loud voice was hard, his jaw clenching slightly. “if i were you, i’d leave.”

Night-time walks were something Tingfei had always enjoyed even as a child. The dark and cold was the best time to get peace for the warlock, the world seemed to slow down and become so much easier to observe. So here he was covered in two mismatching worn-out jumpers and his normal crooked glasses placed on his nose as he walked around the more secluded areas of the academy. For once though his wandering wasn’t for nothing. A small potions book was placed in his left hand with a ball of lilac tinged light glowing just over it to make it readable. Henbane was an ingredient Tingfei had been trying to work into one of his incantations for a while and whilst Keisung did actually supply the needed ingredient he’d always found wild plants worked better when it came to these things.

He’d walked past quite a few other on his little journey, mostly werewolves who would simply sniff him before moving on with their lives so he was more than a little surprised when he heard a voice addressing him. He turned slightly to face the other, eyebrow raised at the ‘threat’. “Why?” A few steps more were taken towards the other, the light moving upwards with a small turn of Tingfei’s head making it easier to see the other. “Last time I checked this is still part of the academy grounds and open to everyone.”

gaojihwa:

The hallways was quite crowded, littered with loitering bodies as it seemed like class for the day had suddenly been cancelled, or over— to which it was, Jihwa didn’t know. After all she was extremely new to the campus (Just two days old, a freshman through and through.) and the probability to cancelling things was something she hadn’t ever heard of.  But either way, she was going to go and return this book to the library—Unless it wasn’t open. Would she get a penalty?? Today was the last day to return it,  but how is she supposed to return it if the library’s closed? The pink haired girl sighs, lost in her own thoughts as she tries to navigate her way through the people, too scared of bumping into the wrong person. “Excuse me..” Jihwa says softly, large book pressed up tightly against her chest as she tries to slide past the person in front of her. 

 Tingfei had gotten more than used to the overcrowded hallways over the past five years. Too many people trying to get to too many places who were all far too stubborn for their own reasons. Though a quiet soul he had gotten used to just barging his way through whatever groups were trying to block him from his destination that day even if it led to a few hisses and insults thrown his way. Maybe that’s why the sight of a face he hasn’t seen before struggling with this exact problem catches his attention. It only takes a few seconds for Tingfei to decided to help the girl with her predicament. His hand gently landing on her arm as his other quickly twirls in a way that makes the group in front seemingly blow into the closest wall. “Come on.” He says gently, weaving the pair of them through the crowded hallway until they finally make it to somewhere a lot more deserted. “Not to be rude but if you ever want to get somewhere on time in this place you’re going to have to get used to being a bit more forceful.”

kuro wasn’t even sure when he’d been moved off of the shoulder of the one he’d decide to sleep on, only just now realising it as the small fennec fox stretched out and realised his claws were digging into a hardwood table, and not someones clothes.. and that was enough to startle kuro into an awake state anyway. last thing he remembered was being in the library with someone else, warm and cozy.. not on a table curled up– if anyone knew him well enough, it was that kuro hated sleeping on surfaces that weren’t soft or other people.. he just liked body heat and feeling close to others. so with a frown that probably evident on the fox’s face, kuro sat up and surprised themselves with the sight of another in the seat that his friend had been occupying before. he stared for a moment or two though, before jumping off the table and into his human form. “some people are so rude. i’m trying to take a nap and i just get placed down onto the table instead– do you know how uncomfy that is on your back? rude.” then again.. he must’ve been in way too deep a sleep, and he didn’t really care who he was talking to right now.

Tingfei’s plan for the afternoon hadn’t been to look out for a sleeping familiar whilst he studied but that’s what he had ended up doing. The person who had been in the seat previously had seemed to be in quite a rush but hadn’t left out telling the warlock ‘make sure no one wakes him up in a bad mood’. From what Tingfei knew about Kuro though the fox familiar was certainly going to wake up grumpy when he realised he’d been sleeping on a cold hardwood table instead of someone's shoulder but the deadline of his latest essay was telling him not worry about that too much for now. He bit his lip to keep himself from frowning as an instant frown took over the other followed by all the complaining he had been expecting from the moment he sat down. “It looked like you were sleeping just fine.” He said with a soft sigh as he looked over at Kuro now in human form. “They said they had a class they needed to get to by the way.”

hiii it’s lemon again!! and this is my second bab tingfei~ and angsty but generally nice warlock!! anyway, if you want to know more about him and just like this if you want to plot!!

tingfei comes from a rather prominent witch family in china which is known for having rather powerful witches and warlocks at young ages

sadly tingfei was a bit of a late bloomer and his family always looked down on him for it despite him being one of their eldest sons 

so his childhood was sort of just always filled with being talked down to and getting insulted but he always just took it very calmly and assumed this is how it was for any witch or warlock that didn’t quite live up to standards

when he was nineteen him and his mother got into an argument about tingfei being unable to perfect a certain set of spells and in a fit of anger his mother cast a hex at him which she had expected him to dodge 

tingfei didn’t though and now has a permanent scar that runs from the middle of his left cheek across the bridge of his nose and ends just above his lip on the right side of his face

after that, it was basically decided that it would be best if tingfei was shipped off and just after his twentieth birthday he turned up at keisung

now on to what he’s actually like

tingfei is a rather quiet person, he doesn’t offer his opinion unless he feels it’s needed and generally likes to keep his nose out of other peoples business but that doesn’t mean he’s complacent 

when he does let his opinion be known he makes sure it’s known. will not put up with people walking all over him, he’s had enough of that in his life

but he is a nice person and he doesn’t try to upset anyone if he can 

his powers focus mainly around fortune telling but he’s not a seer!! he’s just very good at reading tarot cards and astrological signs. and his element is air which he has very good control over 

now for just some random headcanons

he always wears his glasses slightly crooked, he isn’t really sure why but he just finds it more comfortable

literally never styles his hair, it’s always a mess but he likes it like that 

sort of has a pet owl...but don’t tell anyone about it. he always just says that it randomly flies into his room but he feeds it...and pets it....and buys it bedding 

doesn’t mind when people ask about his scar but has literally never told anyone the truth. everyone has probably heard at least three different stories about how he got at this point
