Seedlings Update (01 October 2024)

- 3 pepper seedlings on the paper rolls

- 1 pepper seedling on the rectangle container

- 4 chili seedlings on the small circle containers (+1 extra on the side)

- 4 chili seedlings on the paper rolls

- 2 tomato seedlings on the milktea cups

- 1 tomato seedling on the circle container

- 1 tomato seedling on the square container

I watered them today with a home-made liquid fertilizer from kitchen scraps.

Pepper Progress 🫑 - 23 Sep 2024

I germinated this the same time as my tomato seeds. It graduated from its toilet paper roll now, and I’ve transferred it to a bigger container since the roots are growing outside the tissue roll.

Only 2 survived from the initial 4 seeds, but they’re already starting to grow true leaves.

Soil Germination for Chili seeds. Day 2.

19 September 2024.

I planted them yesterday, but I’ve already tissue germinated them 7 days ago, last 12 September. The tissue grew mold, so I transferred them to soil. Let’s see how they grow.

My tomato progress 🍅🌱 (12 September 2024)

It’s Day 8 of growing these seeds from store brought tomatoes. I germinated them on 04 Sep 2024.

Steps I did:

1. Wipe the surrounding tomato content around the seed with a tissue.

2. Fold a new tissue paper in half and place the seeds inside.

3. Place the tissue in a plastic container.

4. Spray it with water.

5. Keep covered and put in a window sill or place in adequate light for 1 week.

6. Once the root grows and the cotyledon leaves are out of its shell, transplant it to the soil.

So I’m tryna propagate store-bought herbs today.

So I made the mistake of prematurely deciding to leave my peppers outside. I watered them today and when I got back for them, they were all droopy. I’m salvaging them by putting them back inside and putting them under artificial light once again. I’ll harden them off properly, which takes about 7-10 days according to an article.

As of today—August 18 at 5:11 pm, this is the state of my peppers. They’re showing greats signs of growth and two of them already dropped their cotyledon leaves. I have decided to leave them outside already and not put them back inside the house. I’ll give them three to four hours of direct sunlight everyday and then move them to a shadier spot in the terrace for the rest of the day. Hope all goes well. ❤️

Tried a new method of growing an onion and roots are already starting to grow. This has been sitting out for a day.

I repotted the peppers onto bigger sized containers, since they’re growing true leaves. Next time tho, I’ll just put them straight in here to avoid lots of transfers and possibly disturbing their root system.
