Y/n turns to lock the door as we leave our shared cabin. They run their sweaty palms at their sides showing their worry.Y/n grabs the basket holding all their herbs and medicine for the day at the shop and looks up at me with a smile.I can't help but smile back.so perfect.Even if the smile of theires to mask there worry its perfect.

I can't say I don't feel bad for making Y/n worry, but if this works out I can be with them always.keeping my love safe is all I want.

We walk through the forest on the dirt trail carved into the earth from the years of y/n traveling it.Y/n walking in front of my and I notice thr lack of a pep in they step.

"Y/n?....something wrong.please tell me."and with that Y/n stops abruptly.Their shoulders shack slightly.

They turn to look at me with slit tears in their eyes."Y/n?"...I reach out and pull them into my hold and kneel slightly to meet their eyes.I gently brush away the tears that threaten to fall on to their cheeks.

They open there mouth but close it again.soon they speak small chokes between words."I worry....I know these people and they would never do anything to hurt you...but......I can't help but remember when we were kids and thinking Id never see you again.That you were hurt or worse". Tears fell from those beautiful eyes.I wip them and hush my voice a little,"That was scary...but we aren't kids anymore. we have more control now.I love you Y/n.And nothing can take me away from you.Like you said, you know these people.Its not like I'm moving in I'm with you for a day. Ok?"

Y/n relaxes and falls into my hold as I wrap my arms around Y/n's waist.

I take in y/n scent...the same as alway.

He sounded almost sad. A sigh leaves my lips as I turn to face him, his nose rests on mine with his tusks leaning against my cheeks. "Xruel you know why I can't". The light shines through my office window as I finish up my shift after miss takes her leave....AND THANK GOD SHE DID!she was a sweet old woman for the most part but she was a talker.A sigh slipped as I think of her voice going on and on about her grandkids and the drama in the nersing home.My fingers were taping way fillings files.and updates....y/n.... they're all I can think about.They smell like everything I hold dear...the love of my life. Their eyes are so deep they have a whole world under those orbs, It's all I can think about everything about them entices me.I lay my head into my hands as work seems to hard as my thoughts fill of y/n, and as if on cue I hear a light knock .

He gestured for me to take a seat as he left for the kitchen.The inside looked as large or more so from the outside.The stone walls are decorated with plants,old art and swords from many years ago. He soon walked in the two tea cups in hand and set them on the coffee table with a small clink of the tea cup and stone.He looked at me with a small smile"it's not poisoned I a sure you". "Just missed you is all".I smiled at his antics and pat the hands laying on my stomach."well thats sweet Xurl but I need to get going.The shop isn't going to open itself and I need to give these to Mr.pine."at my words his grip tightened around me as he pulled me into him...here we go again.

This is going to be more of ✨WHAT ITS LIKE LIVING WITH XURL✨

Xurl was...always with you. He would often sleep at the side of your bed (when you fall asleep he would sneak into the covers).He would often nuzzle you with his tusks. It was strange to say the least but you weren't complaining you needed the company and being in the forest all alone wasn't the safest as we learned earlier,so having an orc roommate wasn't bad ... especially one so*cough cough*.

You weren't completely in the dark about orc culture...you lived with them for quite a few years ,but you were far from an expert.Xurl's behavior was unusual but you assumed pre and post puberty would change behavior and even what was expected culturally and you didn't see orcs interact with each other in there own homes.Maybe there a more touchy species .So it means Xurl likes you (there not lol he just obsessed with you *cough cough*)

Xurl would often hunt and gather food for you.You have fun running around the woods with him finding food and even Herbs for your little shop

One time you accidentally stumbled upon Xurl taking a bath in a nearby river and you saw everything from his torso up.It was a sight.He saw you and even invited you in but you were too much of a blushing mess

With Xurl being your new roommate you made more space and got rid of low hanging lights so he can walk around more freely(still small lol)

He would often try to follow you into town when you go to work,but you have to always stop him.Times have changed but not everyone has changed their mind set.Your town is relatively inclusive and safe, with a Neko family and Mr Pine being of elf blood.But an orc as you realize is much different than a cute Neko especially when the town is made up of mainly humans. So you do it for his own good.

It does break your heart each day when you see his sad lonely face 😭(but you always promise you'll return)

(he totally stalks you by the forest line to make sure you're safe....yeah)

I've been living with Xurl for a few months now and he was definitely entertaining and nice to have around. We've been trying to get to know each other again, but funnily Xurl didn't change much...well personality wise anyway.But Xurl has been acting strange as of late. Fidgeting more, stumbling over his words he was nervous and anxiety ridden. I decided I'd bring it up to him. He's beginning to worry me and the moment I decide to open my mouth he shoves one of his tusk rings into my face.The gold piece of jewelry was reflecting the sun beautifully and beyond the ring and his large hands.

I see his eyes

They were practically looking through me.A blush crawls from my neck to my cheeks as I register what this means.As a child I would often see orc couples share matching rings on their tusks similar to the human tradition of wedding rings.I stutter and look around "T-This is lovely X-xurl b-but"I couldn't even finish my sentence before I saw the hurt in his eyes and he lowered the ring."O-Oh I...I'm sorry"I could hear his voice quiver a little and my heart started to swell and I started to choke up.

"Xurl...I'm really flattered..but-" I was cut off again "I thought we had started courting...I should have know...I'm sorry y/n i will go" his head was hanging low to hide the tears in his eyes as he walked to the door I felt annoyed by his fast assumption and interrupting me like THAT SHIT HEAD... "MY GOODNESS XURL CANT YOU LET ME Finish A SENTENCE" and I quickly grabbed his hand stopping him from moving towards the door.He looked at me with a mix of confusion and relief as his hand clasped over mine ."I was going to say I'm flattered and I should have known what some of the stuff I did for you implied in orc culture.I've gotten rusty in the department"his eyes raised from the floor but still held a sad look.

My face flushed as I thought of my next words "Xurl I don't want you to leave...I like you a lot...........Like in a romantic way but I didn't think we were counting originally so the ring was a surprise".He shot straight up making him reach his full height and his eyes filled with hope "Xurl...I...lov-" but before I could finish my word strong arms were around my waist and lips on mine.I relaxed in his touch.

Time has changed a lot of things.Who know 9 years can change the world so much that the war is over... for the most part.People are living together.But Mixed species kingdoms aren't nearly as common and there is still prejudice,but things are getting better...

I wonder if I will meet Xurl again.will he even remember(....ooooooooOOO he REMEMBERS LOL)

I grab my Herbs as I walk out the door.I was met with trees and ferns as I enter the woods and make my way to town so I can open my shop.Time went on and I became an herbalist and became well known for my knowledge of various species needs...I believe that everyone deserves treatment and their species shouldn't stop me from doing that...it was hard and a lot of work.learning from so many different masters of so many different cultures and backgrounds was hard...but worth it.I made it to the clearing that my little town was in as I walked down the street to my small shop. The mornings were always the same

Make extra cold medicine (it's that time of year)

I open the shop and start the fire to make the tea and follow the list from there.

The sun soon fell and the day ended.Closing the shop and entering the forest was always nice at night with the stars doting the sky.As I walked the path from the town to home I heard the sound of a wage coming...RIGHT FOR ME HEAD ON as I see the lantern light swaying from its holder. The wage was soon at my side and two arms were around my waist."who would have thought taking someone was so easy" a scruffy voice says as his lips were nearly tickling my ear.My heart starts to race and I start to squirm as I realize my situation,I start to claw at his hands and arms but he was strong...way stranger then I was.his companie just chuckled at my struggle and tears fell from my eyes...what's going to happen to me.

I smelt something...something I held dear to me, practically an obsession but it's been years...I had false hope before but something in me told me to follow the smell and my instincts.I left the cave I took cover in and followed the scent and as I adventured in the woods I came across a screen of someone being kidnapped...if there how I think they are...those men are dead.

I ran at full speed as I graded the head of the man holding the kidnapped person.I threw them across the forest floor and heard cry's of pain from the man of the floor .I heard the shock of the two still left on the wage.I soon grabbed the other kidnapper and threw him to the forest floor and anger rushed through me but I must stay calm(he not calm at all). I try my hardest to gently say"cover your eyes and ears" and as Soon as I saw the dark shadow of person in the wage cover their eyes and muffle there ears I walk over to the man on the cool forest floor. I see the terror and disbelief written all over their faces. Their eyes the size of bowling balls...the kind of face I felt petty for before I got into my line of work.With out remorse I crushed their skulls under my foot. I look back to the wagen and see the shaking small form.I slowly wakes closer and breath in their scent...it....it was y/n... it had to be.my heart started to beat faster and I feel butterflies in my stomach.I whisper as gently as I could "y/n...is that you...are you ok" the smaller form turned to look directly at me for the first time ..."t-thank for h-helping me sorry I'm just shaken up"

I looked at them....it....Was y/n.With out thinking I picked y/n up and held them close to my chest.

I didn't know if I should be scared shitless or feel safe as this orc straddles me in his arms.He felt so warm and safe...almost familiar...then I remembered he said my name."um do I know you...you said my name but I can't seem to place you...were you a past patient". After I said that he gently put and hand on my cheek and his face looked soft."No y/n I know you for much longer..you were my best friend..Im Xurl".

when his words finally seeped into my thick skull I gasped and tears welled into my eyes.

"Xurl"?..."OH MY GODS"

I warped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his shoulder.He held me closer and tightened his grip on me and with a shaky voice I say "thanks for saving me" my tears returning to my face.

"of course...I'm only returning the faver after all these years"

I invited Xurl to my house (ovy) and as we made our way there Xurl never let me out of his hold.The only time my feet hit the ground was at my front step."sorry if it's to small for you..."He only smiled and bucked his head under the door."nice place...it's almost as cute as you"I blush at his comment and look at him with a pout...this was the first time I saw him in...9 years...and the first time in light.

He was so different.

He was very very tall maybe around 6'7...7'0 tall with a toned body and a sharp jawline and his choice in clothes didn't help my wandering eye.He was only wearing a jacket and pants leaving his chest bear.His long dark hair was in a half up half down hair style with braids and gold jewelry.His tusks also grow...and they now have a thick gold ring around them.

"you like what you see"?...

"Yes...I mean you changed...a lot the last time I saw you.You were barely taller than me then me back then. he chuckled "Its nice to know you're just as cute as I left you",my cheeks became a deep red and I look at him.

"When did you become such a flirt hmmmmmm...I bet you flirt with anything that breathes."

He looked at me with puppy dog eyes . "Only if the things that breathes is you" I laugh at his trouble come back....

"I'm not lying....you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.Even when we were kids"...I froze at his words"you mean that"and he says so low and soft I could barely hear it "yes.i could never lie to you y/n"and he snatched me into a hug.

As I felt y/n agents me once more i could feel the instant relief...y/n was perfect so cute...small...I could die.But I must restrain myself .For y/n and what we can be.I finally asked the question that was itching at me sense I got here.

"y/n...can I stay here with you"

"Of course"

People of all species lived in mixed communities, cities and kingdoms and the land was at its highest and with all species together living was easy playing off each other's strengths. But a famine came causing a panic .Starting a war between species for resources and land as people left or were kicked out of kingdoms to their previous home lands.But before the war took place you lived in an intermixed kingdom and your best friend was an Orc boy.

"Xurl"I called as I was trying to find my friend as we have been playing hide and seek for the past 2 hours and I haven't found him yet.As I called for him again I heard a childish giggle over my shoulder as I looked up to see him hanging from a tree above.

"Hey that's sooo unfair" I whined as Xurl swung down to the grass. "Oh come on y/n don't be a party pooper it's not like we said trees were off limits....so next time look in a tree" he says with his teeth filled grin showing off more than his baby sized tusks. I pout as I grabbed his hand and we walked to my house for some snacks. A faint blush danced his cheeks as I pulled him along...

But as we reached my yard a siren cried over us.Me and Xurl never heard such a siren before but as we saw the panic in adults faces we knew it was bad.Parents we're picking up their children and leaving or grabbing other things of value.Me and Xurl just looked at each other.And just on cue a man....or a knight I have never seen before in red and gold armor grabbed Xurl and I apart and through Xurl.

"XURL" I screamed as I tried to run to him but was stopped by the human in the red armor"don't touch that filthy thing child...it will infect you"...I was shocked and scared as i looked at him"no no he won't...Xurl is my friend" and when I went to look at Xurl he was being taken by other unfamiliar people in red armor.I was scared and didn't know what to do...my friend...my best friend was being taken and I wasn't doing anything.But as he was being dragged away adrenaline ran through me as I looked around to see every thing on fire.I grabbed a small piece of wood burning with a flame and shoved it in the eyes of one of the knights holding Xurl. She cried in agony and horror as her fellow knight also let go of Xurl to assist her.The three knights were distracted as I grabbed Xurl's hand and ran never looking back at the knights in fear of feeling guilt or seeing what I have don't to the eyes of one of them.

As we ran we see that it's not just humans taking orcs it orcs taking humans or other people not of their species.I heald onto his hand tighter as we ran.We weaved through crowds of frantic people as we tried to find one of our parents remember the four of them going to town square for shopping.And as mother luck was on our side I bumped right into the chest of my dad.His eyes the size of plates as we meet eyes...he grabs me and Xurls arms with no explanation as he lead us though the crowd to an ally way leading us to mom and Xurls parents.Xurl runs out if dad's hold into his mother's arms with tears running down his face...

Some time has passed and me and Xurl were holding each other for dear life as our parents talked about what was happening and what the next plan was."kids"Xrul's mom says as she bent down to our level."this is going to be really hard...but we're going to have to leave". And of course I thought Like no shit look at the place but then she said"and go our separate ways"

To cut the sob story short it was hard.

me and Xurl had to be literally torn apart as our parents made it to the forest line and had to go our separate ways...but no matter how young we were we know deep down way we did...no we're we went would expect a orc and human family as a package deal at the time.

That all Happened nearly 9 years from now...I still think of Xurl a lot
