Where is Porsche's husband?
WAIT! WHAT IS THIS SHINE FANCON I AM HEARING ABOUT?!
Shine will have a fancon on Nov 15!! I think it's a final farewell of sorts? Also, based on the trailer/preview on their X acc there might be additional scenes that will be shown there (ex. Trin apologizing to Tanwa, TrinTanwa pool kiss, Victor and friends) I think there might also be additional scenes for Krailert and Naran tho they weren't shown in the preview.
so i think the shine fancon will show more added scenes or an extended ending 👀 i also saw the swimming pool kiss in the trailer. i wonder will it be like a whole episode...? or just clips?
I MISSED THEM SO MUCH IT'S ONLY BEEN A WEEK SINCE THE LAST EP. HOW WILL I SURVIVE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRIN APOLOGIZED TO TANWA
HAPPY SHINE SAT- oh wait. 😭😭😭😭
we're back to normal boring saturdays, anon
happy (?) first saturday without Shine..
The way some of y’all are treating Trin is genuinely making me wonder if we all watched the same show
He did some things wrong and he is flawed, like every character in this show, but some people act like he’s the worst person in Tanwa’s life when his father is right here.
I liked that Paodem showed love to his son before it was to late and helped him heal, but he’s still the one who really was abusive towards him. Trin punching Tanwa does not compare to that. It was wrong and he shouldn’t have done it, but he wasn’t in his right mind when he did. He was in unbearable pain, overcome with grief and trauma, and it was made clear to us multiple times that this man is heavily traumatised. Again, I’m not saying what he did was right (and believe me I wish he hadn’t done it) but he otherwise is not a violent person. Before that, he was always so gentle with Tanwa. And after lashing out on him, he didn’t stay to hurt him even more; he left and broke down alone. We definitely can’t say the same about Tanwa’s father, when he slapped him multiple times in front of everyone.
It’s also a shame that Trin left Tanwa alone when he needed him. But let’s not forget that Trin is also going through a lot, even if he’s way more composed than Tanwa. It’s not surprising that he couldn’t be around Tanwa when, in his mind, he couldn’t save Victor because he hid the truth from him.
(Remember, Trin associates his absence with the death of someone precious to him. Claire died when he wasn’t with her; Victor died when he couldn’t go to him on time. And he couldn’t, because Tanwa kept him with him. Trin has no idea, at this point, that Tanwa tried to warn Victor; he doesn’t know that Tanwa was asked to hide the truth from him by Victor himself either.)
Trin is suffering a lot, and I think part of him wanted to see Tanwa — I mean, we did see him in front of the store; and then he asked Sucha to take care of Tanwa, which might seem selfish or hypocritical, but it also shows that he still cares, deep down, and knows that someone is there for Tanwa (while he didn’t have anyone after leaving for Paris and after Claire’s death, when we think about it). But he couldn’t be there himself, which again, makes sense. Tanwa might have needed to see him, but they also both needed time apart to heal and grow. Which worked just fine, on the long term.
And then there is the scene where, after reading Tanwa’s book, Trin immediately tries to talk to Tanwa and even decides to go back to Thailand to see him, when no one answers the phone, without thinking twice. This scene shows us how much he still cares, how he never stopped caring.
This is getting too long already. What I meant to say was, yes, Trin didn’t always treat Tanwa right, just like Tanwa didn’t always treat him right. But it’s understandable; it makes sense (especially when you keep in mind that the characters don’t know what the audience knows, and remember that not everything is black and white). And they are both far from unredeemable.
I’m sick and tired of seeing people villainizing Trin or Tanwa when characters like the General are right there.
please, i'm desperate - do you think trin told naran any part of the reason krailert couldn't come with him???? we didn't see him say anything (in fact i did find trin strangely passive throughout the whole dhevi/krailert blow-up and fallout - was hoping for a bit more queer solidarity though i get he was in a tough position), but the idea that naran left thinking krailert had changed his mind or chickened out is too much for my poor heart to handle! i reckon i can just about keep going if i can believe naran knew it wasn't krailert's choice, that it was in fact the depth and strength of his love for him that kept krailert away, but without that...doooooooooooooooooooooooom!
I would like to think that Trin had told him but they choose not to show in the series haha cause i think the lack of conversation between Naran and Trin was a stylistic choice from the director to make the scene more impactful (and i kinda think that Trin would just be repeating everything Dhevi had said in their prev confrontation scene which is why i think they decided to remove the dialogues. not sure abt it tho, just my interpretation!)
From Sarasawadee's last published entry, I choose to believe that Naran knows that Krailert loves him and if their situation had been different - no lives will be taken away or hurt, he knows Krailert will choose him again and again. Just like what he said, "some things do not need to be spoken aloud. some answers are better left quiet, unannounced because we already know them, deep down."
You know, I thought that as long as Trin and Tanwa got their happy ending I'd be fine. And although I am happy they did, I've just been sitting here, thinking about how bad I feel for Krailert.
You and me, anon. I keep switching back and forth with how happy and sad I am and it's giving me headache.
I think what made Krailert and Naran's ending stick to us was because we were almost there!!! We almost had that happy ending—Krailert's name was cleared, their photos were never leaked, he had that plane ticket, and everything had been going so well. Krailert was finally ready to be brave for himself and for Naran.
Then we have Moira's conversation with Dhevi. It made me think that she'll finally accept that Krailert will never love her and their marriage is nothing but misery and she'll finally stand up for herself, but oh my fucking god, I can't believe how fucking wrong I was about that woman. I hate it. I fucking hate her. I was honestly rooting for her because I thought she was just as trapped in that marriage as Krailert was, but oh fucking noooooo she's just where she wanted to be.
NESDC made an appreaciation post for Dr. Trin 🥹💙
"I'm delighted to be working with you, Mr. Trin. Even though I'm no longer working with the National Economic and Social Development Board, we all play a role in developing the country in one way or another. We're small cogs that coordinate and move this country forward together."
My hot take is that Tiva did nothing wrong! He was in possession of the same info as Victor, no more no less, and Victor enthusiastically chose to go full steam ahead so why is everyone acting like Tiva led him to the slaughter?? There was no reason to suspect Victor would be the one targeted since he wasn't going to be the only speaker (and all Tanwa said was it wasn't going to be safe and to be careful), so in a way Victor's just as 'guilty' for not telling the others about Tanwa's warning - what if it'd been one of them who'd got killed? Besides, if Tiva had rocked up saying the rich hippy dude was babbling about things getting real bad, do we honestly think the entire student body would've been like 'Okay that's it, let's just call the whole thing off'?? Victor clearly didn't believe him - why would anyone else? Not to mention it's not like the state getting violent was OOC - that was always a risk every time they protested. Nobody realised this time they were planning a full-on assassination. Justice for my pocket-sized revolutionary!!! (That said, I did love the scene with him and Victor's fam, and the fact they didn't hold it against him.)
Anon, I get what you are saying, and I agree. There isn't much he could've done because Victor had already been set to speak at the protest, so it wasn't Tiva's fault; it was and had always been Pracha's.
But for me, my initial anger towards Tiva was more about the way he addressed Victor's death when he was talking to Wut and Narong. I know he was probably so into his head at that time because of the loss of his friend and was probably trying to justify what had happened in his mind, but when he said that his reason for not stopping Victor was "because they can't postpone it later," it felt like he treated Victor as if he were a thing, a symbol that could further their cause, rather than his childhood friend. It felt like Tiva had gone so extreme that he only saw Victor's death as a means towards their end goal. Wut's line really resonated with me: "You're so blinded you couldn't even see the worth of human life."
Which is why that scene with Victor's parents is really important because that's where we see that it wasn't the case for Tiva. He was in as much pain as the rest of them and has felt the loss of Victor deeply, but as a viewer (who isn't really over Victor's death), I was fucking angry with him in that first scene ngl.
Sucha is such a good friend. It's not easy dealing with the gays and our drama, but he stuck by Tanwa's side!
Sucha is really amazing. I think Tanwa's life would've a 100 times messier if he wasn't there.
SUCHA APPREACIATION POST AHEAD!!
I love how he dropped these iconic lines while high, like bro was really connecting with the universe on a different level
He never really participated in any of the protest (as far as we know in the series) but he empathize with them (ft. the iconic pineaplle bong lol)
Also, I love how he was never fazed when TrinTanwa got together and were all over one another in Tanwa's store. He just accepted it and went on his merry way HAHAHA
And, he was just a really chill dude whose really loyal to his friend. I'm glad that Tanwa had some like him who cared when he was going through a lot.
I know this is a rather minuscule thing compared to everything else going on in this episode but oof, I do wish Trin punching Tanwa would’ve at least getting acknowledged. Why make it a point to draw a parallel to Tanwa getting punched by the people who love him if it just gets glossed over???? Is this cherry picking? I don’t know it just rubbed me the wrong way, just SO many things left unsaid :(
Nooooo cause I totally understand!!!! I honestly feel that if they added just one more episode the flow of the whole story would've been better. I am happy with the reunion we got BUT it would be much better if we at least get more of the conversation aside from under the bridge. It would be nice if we got to see Trin taking Tanwa around Paris, them addressing what happened the last they saw each other (the punch, Victor's death, Tanwa's promise to Victor) so that they can close that chapter and move forward together. Tanwa's book was able to cover majority of it but it would be better if they got to talk about it and apologize to one another!!! Also, it would've been better if we see them both visiting Victor!! and Tanwa will be like, "I kept my promise, Victor." 😭😭😭
Okay, but the ending was kinda rude tho. Why did they only show old and married Trin and Tanwa - but didn't show old and married Krailert and Naran, who were sitting right next to them? Cause they were there! They were! THEY WERE! 😭😭😭😭
"I heard they were just getting food when that scene was shot but they were beside TrinTanwa!!!!!!! THEY WERE THERE TOO!!!!! KRAILERT AND NARAN GOT TO BE OLD, GRAY AND STUPIDLY IN LOVE WITH ONE ANOTHER TOO!!!!!!" *i say as they drag me into a white padded room*
