oc story: pocket of summer
sahjskfjk this was rotting in my drafts since 2024..some old doodles from when i was playing fuga2 (including some solatorobo bc the music made me nostalgic for it .w.)
i had a dream last month about something like that which expanded into thoughts so i was putting them on paper before i go crazy LOL

(harmony side)
harmony-side takuma is a JIES employee, he's the most all-rounder in his team and his combination of courage/decisiveness/physical ability makes him ideal for solo activity when they're short-handed.
today his boss is asking him to investigate this new gate which they believe leads to the kemonogami world, but something about it seems off.
also i feel like harmony side takuma would have shorter hair. lol
even after voltobautamon's defeat, something about having absorbed the master's power keeps him sealed and bound to the master's domain...
piemon's consciousness has been destroyed and now dracumon is back in control. he somehow manages to exist without his partner, but is not sure if it's because of the master's power or because kaito is within him (somewhere). anyway he hasn't had anyone to talk to for the past decade and is dying of boredom, though he still feels responsible for piemon and kaito's actions now that he's the only one left.
however, he recently senses some kind of disturbance in the domain...and somehow his old friends takuma and agumon show up. he decides it's a good opportunity to investigate the disturbance...
(i can't really decide but also i thought it would be funny to have dracumon speaking in polite register(? 丁寧語) just because he's spent so much time in voltobautamon form by now)
(wrathful side)
takuma and kaito are the young leaders of a resistance force that has grown to a commendable size. they might be a bit impulsive, but they believe strongly in their goal to bring peace and have strong enough spirit to rarely ever waver.
today, minoru brought them some intel about a new gate that seems to be unsettling the kemonogami nearby, so they decided to go and investigate...
sorry that he looks so edgy LOL but wrathful takuma is a pretty edgy guy don't you think...
similar case to harmony!dracumon, the master's power keeps wrathful!aoi bound to his domain,
feeling guilt and powerlessness to change anything for the better, she spends the past decade in some sort of meditative state(?)...even with the disturbance she begins to sense, she's still debating whether to ignore it or give in to instincts and hunt it down.
something is bringing both domains together and it's not clear what, but they can sense the master's power in each other which causes some kind of fierce disturbance in their core and immediately drags them into conflict.
anyway i just really wanted to draw the image of dracumon wielding voltobauta's weapons (also i JUST realised both of them have the spinal cord tails..peak design👌👌👌)
harmony takuma is so done with all the fighting
on the side, harmony!aoi and wrathful!kaito chase after the respective takumas when they bump into each other and get the shock of their life LOL.
both of them are surprised at each other's strength, not realising that both of their resolves to get stronger over these years was from the regret that they weren't strong enough to save harmony!kaito and wrathful!aoi at the moment where it mattered most, and to prevent it from happening again.
what happens from there i really have no idea, i kinda want the whole gangs to meet but then i have to design them first so uhh😂😭maybe this can stay as a one-off
buttt i did entertain the idea that eventually harmony!dracumon joins kaito in wrathful side bc he really just wants to be with his partner again! and because he doesn't quite have a place to belong in harmony side...and now kaito has two gremlins to wrangle
maybe wrathful!aoi joins aoi and labramon to balance the master's power between both worlds? she does still have labramon's power so she can probably transform into labramon-like form for any situation where seeing two aois would invite too many questions (and plutomon even more questions lol).

maybe i can share one i'm currently working on, if people would like to guess whose evolution this is :)

so the premise of gnosia-style 2188 is basically, you gotta find out who has the nanomachine infection and cold sleep them so the infection won't spread😂
1) Izumi Juro
Age: 44
Authoritative with great influence over the debate, and also has good intellectual stats. However, he tends to paint a target on himself.
Notes:
Love interest is Morimura, may cover for her independently of logic.
Paternal feelings towards Yakushiji, may cover for her independently of logic.
Easily gets people to follow his lead with Seek Agreement, or cuts them off with Block Argument.
He is focused on doing 'what he feels is right' rather than just self-preservation, so he is great at contributing to trying to weed out the infected. He is powerful in debate but unfortunately a prime target for being attacked in the night lol, because the infected find him a pain to have him alive
2) Morimura Chihiro
Age: 52
A logical thinker whose words hold sway in the colony, she is also great at hiding her intentions. However, though she is respected, she is not necessarily well-liked.
Notes:
Love interest is Izumi, may cover for him independently of logic.
Maternal feelings towards Okino, may cover for him independently of logic.
Can use Retaliate to shift the argument away from her.
Though she seems very logical on the surface, her ulterior motives can be swayed by emotion, though she tries to hide it (it is hard to expose her through her acting/behaviour though, her composure is more easily broken by finding her logical fallacies). However, she's not very amicable and can come off as condescending sometimes, so she can be ganged up on once a group of people realise they are all against her.
3) Okino Tsukasa
Age: 23
True to his prodigy status, he excels at making deductions with the facts on hand, but not so much at detecting liars. His high stealth lets him get away with a lot.
Notes:
Love interest is Hijiyama, may cover for him independently of logic.
Usually relies on logic, but may turn emotional and accusatory in certain scenarios.
The zoomer trio (what I call Okino, Minami and Miura lol) are more earnest and not so good at playing old people politics, they believe in flushing out the enemy and sending them to cold sleep quickly, so they will readily use Definite Human/Enemy…which may or may not get people annoyed with them
Okino has higher stealth so he might not get killed off as soon, but his reputation in the colony isn't great (even if people acknowledge his intelligence) and he's not really good at catching non-logic-based lies
4) Gouto Renya
Age: 60
Often one of the first to arrive at the truth thanks to his high logic and intuition. Though his words hold sway, he is not very well-liked and easily ganged up on.
Notes:
He is generally focused on survival while trying to figure out the truth, but when the debate flow goes wildly against his expectations, he has a tendency to want to step in to correct the flow, which may work against him.
Even though he is wildly unpopular among the colony members, he IS still CEO and the members won't tend to voice their displeasure to his face (and his high charisma means they may still agree with him, even if it's on surface-level). They may say one thing and vote another way however if he has accrued enough hate/suspicion.
5) Sekigahara Ei
Age: 33
His high stealth allows him to act in the background without being targeted. His arguments are also convincing, though he is not well-liked and is terrible at lying.
Notes:
Usually acts on logic, but if he knows he and Morimura are on opposing sides, he will usually target her first. Even if they're not on opposing sides, he might take opposing actions just to spite her.
Doesn't particularly care about the group's agenda, even if he is working out who the infected are in the background. He's not opposed to causing/feeding chaos to see how the others react.
He's kinda sus so he tends to get targeted in voting for no reason, but he's often spared by the infected since he's so good at causing chaos either way. Ironically he's not great on enemy team because he can't pretend for shit, so he usually chooses to Obfuscate or Retaliate instead of outright lying.
6) Shinonome Ryoko
Age: 29
Generally well-rounded, though not very good at spotting lies due to low intuition. Her logic lets her deduce facts, but she tends to act on emotion.
Notes:
Love interest is Ida, may cover for him independently of logic.
She is the spite voter of the colony LOL (kukrushka but less airheaded). When she doesn't have a huge stake in the current argument, she will act quite logically and has a bit of initiative/leadership? to use Vote/Don't Vote. However, when she is repeatedly accused by someone, she can get affected and vote/kill them out of spite.
She does generally have good relations with the colony and remains civil, unlike some people..
7) Ida Tetsuya
Age: 29
Though not well-liked nor well-respected in the colony, he is great at lies and deflecting attention away, while detecting lies and deducing facts behind the scenes.
Notes:
He's the smart and talented guy that everybody hates lol…when no one has anything to go on he's easily voted against just because people find him sus or annoying. People don't tend to want to agree with or cover him either.
That said he has high intuition/logic so he is good at deducing the infected, but he very much plays according to his own agenda. If he's on the infected side he has no qualms throwing fellow infecteds under the bus to save himself.
His performance is super high while his charm is super low..what that means is people already don't particularly put stock in what he says so he also gets away with saying rubbish
8) Kisaragi Tomi
Age: 34
Although she is on good terms with the colony members, she prefers not to draw attention to herself, observing and deducing in the background instead.
Notes:
Though she's not to the extent of 'survive at all costs even if it means stepping on others', she's actually pretty good at surviving by keeping low-key, maintaining the balance of adding to conversations but not drawing much suspicion/hate. The downside is that she doesn't have much convincing power to change majority opinion, but people may see her as a reliable indicator that they are on track.
9) Yakushiji Megumi
Age: 8
As an 8-year-old, her words hold little weight, but she is less likely to be suspected. However, she is not a good liar nor able to keep up with complicated debate.
Notes:
Extremely hard to get her voted out (she will also use Regret to garner pity), unless she is logically proven to be an enemy.
She can get scared by accusations against her or violent/exaggerated reactions from others, and will usually target those who scare her. If there's no clear direction, she will usually just vote for someone she doesn't like, or someone who gives her bad vibes (i.e. lying since her intuition is not bad), though she can follow simple logic like voting Definite Enemy-marked people.
10) Ogata Nenji
Age: 38
Despite being disliked within the colony, he has a charismatic way with words (and lies) that leads people to follow him. Low on logic and may not be able to deduce facts.
Notes:
He is the Sha-Ming (lol) in that he can use Grovel to get himself out of cold sleep.
Very self-preservation focused, will change his narrative whenever as long as it allows him to hold out. He's Not Very Smart but either way he's not as focused on the greater good so much as his own survival; often also Seeks Help when cornered.
Similarly to Gouto, he is not well-liked but people won't say it to his face. They will definitely show it in voting however (and may vote him out just so he doesn't cause dumb problems later on).
11) Minami Natsuno
Age: 19
Being the youngest staff member, she is unable to command much respect, even if she is well-liked. She leans towards supporting arguments she agrees with.
Notes:
Love interest is Miura, may cover for him independently of logic.
She knows she doesn't have sway in the colony and is also careful not to bite off more than she can chew, but she's also honest and well-liked so hard to get voted off. She will often initiate collaborations.
She doesn't initiate much accusations or changes in opinion due to her low charisma, but otherwise she is quite active in conversations, and will try to fish out infecteds using Say You're Human, or Definite Human/Enemy people to steer the flow in the right direction.
12) Takamiya Yuki
Age: 43
A respected professor in the colony, her abilities are generally high. However, her poor intuition means she rarely detects lies, and has to rely on logical deduction.
Notes:
Maternal feelings towards Minami, may cover for her independently of logic.
Because of her low intuition, she can end up becoming too trusting of people she views favourably. However her logic is high, so she will go against even those she initially trusted once the facts prove otherwise (unless it is Minami, then she will be Very conflicted)
13) Kurabe Tamao
Age: 120
The old professor is highly experienced, and well-liked and respected by all. She tends to lay low, but becomes a force to be reckoned with once she steps up.
Notes:
She is like the Yuriko (lol) in that she is the boss enemy… or good ally if she is on your side. She will usually lay low and just chime in, but once suspicion gets targeted at her or someone she is trying to protect, she can get full offensive and easily control the debate, and everyone is very inclined to trust her.
As an enemy she's hard to down unless you can logically accuse/Definite Enemy her. The upside is that she is not particularly aggressive, but she will Retaliate/Seek Help when accused so it's difficult to get an accusation to stick.
As an ally she would be a good ally..except that she tends to lay low so you don't really feel like she is helping your cause. But she still votes and her vote can be a good indicator of who to suspect (assuming she is on your side).
14) Miura Keitaro
Age: 24
A logical thinker, he also excels at detecting lies and lying to some extent. However, he has a tendency to draw suspicion or attention to himself.
Notes:
Love interest is Minami, may cover for her independently of logic.
Has a reputation for being an earnest worker, hence people are more likely to believe his lies. But even if he has good work reputation, he's often just a step away from annoying someone by being too outspoken. Like Minami and Okino, he also readily uses Definite Human/Enemy so can be useful in the later stages.
He is great at detecting lies, which is a problem for the infecteds so his low stealth means he's prime target for getting killed at night lol.
15) Hijiyama Takatoshi
Age: 31
Not as technically inclined as the other members, he struggles to keep up with logic debates. However, he is well-liked and great at convincing others to take his side.
Notes:
Love interest is Okino, may cover for him independently of logic.
Because of his low logic, he tends to agree with those he perceives to have higher logic or respects, which may be a problem if they turn out to be on the opposing side.
Still, despite his high charisma, he generally has the sense to not randomly throw out accusations (he also works more towards overall victory rather than self preservation), and instead leans more towards rallying people to agree with someone he thinks is right. He's also a nice enough guy that people find it reassuring having him around.

i saw my 2024 summary post describing my life burnout and...unfortunately i'm in generally the same state rn, if not worse because 2025 gave me new health headaches LOL (all the doctors call it 'aging'...what is aging...)
i'm just tired and being online is hard but to everyone who takes a little time from their life to reach out to me, interact with my art, even just looking, a big thank you 💕💕
i think the one with the biggest effect on art lately is arm muscle weakness, so it's been hard to do my usual painting style (i can't control my strokes to the precision i want). you can probably see i've been slightly pivoting to using slightly cleaned sketches as 'lineart'? i won't call them lineart bc if you look at them they're really quite loose 😆
despite the persisting burnout, i actually have renewed interest in trying to get back into my personal dgmn projects (fanmade digis and pocket of summer)!! if only bc of all the amazing dgmn food this year so the digi brainrot is strong 😂 i'm currently playing time stranger and keeping up with beatbreak, and ofc i'm still stuck in survive hell.
though my issue with pocket of summer is that i left it off with a particular art style which..i don't think i can continue in that style 🥲 but also it's mid-chapter so it's weird to switch styles?? i mean it's a personal project so i can do whatever i want but still.....mmmmmmhh
i know 2025 has been a...year for a lot of us, but thank you for making it to the end of 2025 and best wishes to everyone for 2026, see you around 💕
