just a heads up if you’re interested in my ocs I could make one whole post about them

all i can say is they’re gonna be part of a webcomic i’m making called Crossing Over ((and bc i couldn’t think of a better name than that, i might change it tho)) and it’s gonna be gr8 with no actual plot, just both of them and a whole other cast of characters interacting in everyday shenanigans, and possibly making friends with characters from other worlds (?)

I love how literally anything we might dislike about DA: 2, we just blame on Varric misreporting.  Zev’s tragic un-hotness?  Varric thought he was overrated.  Orsino’s transformation and death were bullshit?  Varric told it that way to help Orsino disappear.  All the dungeons are the same?  Well duh, Varric hates caves.

I love it precisely because it totally works.  Varric DOES make everyone more badass (and Bethany more tit-tacular) in the beginning.  He DOES make himself suddenly massively overpowered in the beginning of his personal quest.  He’s an unreliable narrator and a liar and we know it.

Varric as the teller of DA: 2 is simultaneously amazingly awkward and totally great.

I love this in part because I’m a sucker for a good unreliable narrator, in part because I’m a sucker for Varric Tethras in particular, and in part because it opens up the way for headcanons that directly contradict in-game events.

(I especially support the Orsino theory because of how Varric gets offended in Inquisition if you question Orsino’s fate but not if you call him on the unlikeliness of Hawke’s battle with the Arishok.)
