ROOM 208D: THAYER REYNOLDS & GARRETT PENDRAGON
criygn bc my mom is talking smack about me and i can hear it :)
“Shoot- I’ll get them.” Thomas ran after the papers, grabbing them all before they got too far away before returning to help Garrett pick up the rest of his stuff. “I’m really sorry- I should have watched where I was going.”
“You didn’t have to,” Garrett says, feeling quite apologetic for acting like a massive asshat. “Just keep an eye out next time, alright?”
[She laughs at herself, pinning her towel to her with one hand as she covers her mouth with the other.] Sorry, I swear I’m not usually this terrible. It’s only when I’m alone in a towel with a hot, sweaty guy who’s obviously mad at me for stealing his hot water.
Usually? [There’s another long pause before the meaning of her words sink in.] Oh. Well, the hot guy is very uncomfortable because the girl with the towel is making conversation, in only a towel.
littlehazel replied to your post:

I’m a funny person, Garrett. You’ve just never seemed to appreciate my humor. Want a cigarette?
You’re funny every once in a while. Uh no, I’ll pass, my smoking days are long past me.
this gif is something i will cherish forever
Bailey looked up as she found his eyes on her, she found herself going red, letting out a shy laugh. “What?” She asked, not rudely as he looked at her. “Well why do you like punching so much?” She inquired, curious now as to who the boy was, what he did, why she didn’t see him around much. “Yeah, i can imagine. Are you going to go to watch?” She tilted her head to the side to question. She made a small face at the career fair, still not knowing what she wanted to do. “The career fair was nice, yeah. Very informative. Did you find anything interesting?” She realised she was asking a lot of questions and immediately flushed red, feeling bad. “Oh no, no, it’s okay. That’s not because i fell. Um. I have some other… Things.” Bailey waver hand hand vaguely, smiling however as he laughed. “Why don’t you talk to people often? You’re great company. I mean- unless i’m annoying you? Am i annoying you? Because i can leave, i totally get it if i am.”
Shaking his head slowly, Garrett tried to cover the fact that he’d been staring by clearing his throat. “Nothing, nothing.” He stared at the ground in front of him as he walked, his hands now stuffed deep in his pockets. “Punching is easier for me. Always has been, always will be.” He tried not to remember how he felt: the bullying, the rush of power he got from it, it was toxic and the only way he knew how to let the toxicity out was by punching things until he couldn’t remember. “No, I’d rather stay away from all the fighting if I can, don’t want to rage out or anything you know? Sometimes being too passionate is a bad thing. The career fair, it was alright, there wasn’t anything I was too interested in, however.” Why was he answering her questions so nicely, what was wrong with him today? He cocked his head again, wondering what these ‘other things’ were. “Okay.” he said simply, but he was a tad worried that she was in more pain than she was letting on. He’d known the question would come, and he winced slightly letting out a small hiss from between his teeth. “I tend to hurt people by being around them, or I used to at least. I guess you can say paranoia or something like that.” He shakes his head again, “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“Care to join me?” Her voice is quiet and solemn.
“Alright.” He says simply enough, sitting down next to the girl. “What exactly am I joining you for? Pity party, drinks, food, what?”
She blushed as he removed the leaf from her hair, laughing quietly. “Thanks.” She said, falling into step with him. “Well you don’t need to punch- whenever i feel angry, or stressed, or upset, or bored- i go swimming. Nobody gets harmed and it feels… Kinda like how it feels being up in the trees.” She said genuinely. Bailey wondered why he was so hesitant but didn’t say anything about it, “Are you enjoying May Madness?” She asked, because if he didn’t want much conversation then she could talk enough for the both of them. Bailey laughed, running a hand over her head and body, just to make sure. “No bumps or bruises, i should be fine. Just a bit dizzy but that might be because of. Um. Other things.” She quickly said lamely. Because she hadn’t eaten much. Well, she’d had a little, and it was still hard to do, but she was trying at least. “I don’t think your company is awful at all. Did somebody say that to you? Because that’s not true. You’re interesting! And nice!”
“Yeah,” he replied dumbly as he walked. Garrett stared down at the girl and realized just how tiny she looked compared to himself. Le petite princess, he thought randomly to himself as he wondered how she was so passive whereas he had a temper that burned brighter than the light of a thousand suns. “If I were to go swimming as much as I go to punch random bags hanging from the ceiling, there’d be no more water in the pools.” He paused, raising an eyebrow at Bailey. “Never been up a tree before, but I bet it feels liberating.” Garrett shrugged, pursing his lips. “I’ve been doing great now that I’ve been eliminated; it lessens my chance of hurting anyone. And the career fair was great. What about yourself?” He was so bad at small talk, and he wondered how he’d managed to get this far along in a conversation without snapping at all. “Dizzy? I might not be correct, but I don’t think that’s a good sign at all.” He let out a small huff of laughter, rolling his eyes. “Trust me, I’m worse than this. No one’s said it to me because I don’t talk to people often.”
Bailey beamed, glad he hadn’t forgotten who she was. She gladly took his hand, standing up, noticing how strangely soft his hand was but quickly releasing it, brushing out the leaves from her hair. “I’m fine! I’m a bit clumsy. Um. As you can probably see. Sorry, i saw you walking along and i wanted to say hi.” She beamed again, even more widely, not knowing why but enjoying his company- plus his face wasn’t bad to look at. “Punching more punching bags?” She wondered why he hadn’t laughed at her joke, maybe he didn’t understand it. But she could let it go for now. “How are you? Do you mind if i walk with you? I should probably make sure i don’t have like- a concussion or whatever.”
Garrett stared down at their hands for a quick moment before stuffing his hands in pockets right after she’d let go. He saw a stray leaf peeking out from her hair and removed it without blinking, tossing it in the wind. “I can see that very clearly.” His eyebrows were now raised, confused by the girl even further. “Oh. Alright...?” Garrett wanted to curl up into a little ball; no one had looked at him with so much joy and cheer since his first Christmas probably. “Well, there isn’t anything else to punch around here,” he said with another shrug. “I’m doing alright,” he said hesitantly, wondering if the girl wanted something out of him or if she was genuinely this sweet all the time. “Shouldn’t you go to a doctor or something? But sure, if you don’t mind my terrible company.”
O-oh right. I don’t think so. Can you run out of hot water here? I’ve taken forty-five minute showers before without them going cold. If you’re that hot maybe you need a cold shower. I mean, you aren’t hot. Wait, you are– fine. I meant– I was just. I should get out.
Who knows with this school anymore? It’s like I’m not sure if I should be more worried about the darkness or how cold it gets at night sometimes. [After a long pause, Garrett nods slowly.] You should probably do that.
Bailey was hanging upside down from a tree, her legs tangled in it. It had been a long time since she had done this, a long time since she had felt this free and genuinely happy. She felt at peace with herself, something she hadn’t experienced in so, so long. She opened her eyes, noticing a figure walking along. She squinted, thinking she recognised them and pulling herself up, crawling along the branches quietly, trying to get a closer look. She placed one foot on a branch, gently swinging herself closer to the male when the branch snapped- Bailey let out a shriek as she went flying forward, falling onto the ground with a soft thud in front of the man, her head spinning and her heart pounding as she lay there, tangled in a broken off branch now, sheepishly on the ground. “Hi… Thought i’d… Drop in. Get it?” She blinked up at the male, realising who it was now, “Garrett! I- Bailey- i mean. I’m Bailey. In case you forgot. Hi. Sorry about this.”

The walks back to his dorm were the only peaceful moments he got other than his time at the gym. They were probably the only thing he looked forward to in his day, which might seem sort of depressing to some people. He always walked back alone, mostly because he hated bothering anyone with his terrible company. Today had not been one of those days, seeing as a small, brunette girl had falled from the sky, or was it from the trees? By the looks of it, it had been the tree, and he winced in sympathy when she landed, almost as if he’d felt the pain of her fall as well. Garrett stared down at the girl, half worried and half confused “Uh, hello.” Garrett replied, his brows furrowing together. “No, I haven’t forgotten,” he said casually as he held out a hand to help her up. “Are you alright?” He asked, cocking his head to the side slightly
“Felt like it.” Jaina shrugged.
“Everyone is dying to touch the royal lips and you just... I can’t believe you.”
“Hey I’m doing a social experience. Can I borrow you for a second? Kay, thank you…” Jaina then pulls the other into a kiss.
“Okay but why did you do that?”
