"I appreciate a being of their word." The fire spirit nods and follows Gary to Evil Tim Horton's.
"I am sure you heard the APB I put out about the gas leak at MGPA? I did that when I overheard the alarm while trying to report in to Luba about the camera case. I shut off supply to the building, per protocol, while I waited for backup from Bunny. Once she was on scene we proceeded to ventilate."
"Funny thing was... we never heard the alarm in person. Clear as day from Luba's office over comms, but silent in the corridors, with no sign of a gas leak."
She lets that sink in while they order coffee. She produces some shiny rocks of her own, although it is unclear where she was keeping them. Probably best not to think about it.
"So we decide to run a drill and take a closer look. Everyone got out except Luba and Krill. Luba refused to come out of course. Dumb, but their right. Krill on the other hand was not answering. And there were these big shutters sealed over her door!"
She thanks the cashier for their coffee and finds a seat.
"Something was not right. We needed to make sure she was safe. So I talked with Bunny. She said there was a blockage in the vents to Krill's room! Now we were really worried. Were they not answering because of hyperthermia or hypoxia? Or worse, what if there really was a gas leak, but only in their room!"
The fire spirit takes a moment to drink.
"So Bunny sent me into the vents with her windy thing. I was able to unblock the vent, but the moment I popped my head out, I was fired on! Suddenly I got turned into fog, Bunny was screaming that she has been captured, and before I can get a coherent word out, Krill was nowhere to be seen !"
"I had to fly through purple nuclear fire to get to Bunny, and that is when she told me that Luba was out to arrest me. I suggested turning myself in, but we agreed it would be safer if we made sure I was at full strength first. We parted ways, and then you were sent after me."
She takes another long drink, giving Gary time to think.
"So that is my story. A lot of things do not line up, and I really want to be able to make sure Swatch and Krill get the full story. I am worried Luba may try something drastic to keep me from speaking."
