Interactive Adventure: Festival of the Dragon Slayer
She was mulling over the buy, arms folded and drifting in between two sets of armour. Practicality vs pretty protection. Pretty hard choice in life of knight, who actually enjoyed looking nice now and then. Still, something told her that light step armour will work much better with her personal style of a fight. Now it came time to bargaining. She looked the seller up and down. It was an older looking model of a dwarf. She will have to play it well, dwarfs knew their shit when it came to armour and pricing their product. Yet, those 50 gold less would really work well for her. She shuffled closer and shined the dwarf brightest smile she could muster. The dwarf only stared her down with tired face of ‘i-am-already-done-with-this-shit’ Undefeated by the look, Jade snapped her fingers and pointed to the armour she was interested in. ‘Well then, master armourer, as you probably noticed, I would be more then interested in that armour, there is just one thing, I was thinking, you and me, we can make a deal.’ She raised her hands to stop him, when he was opening his mouth ‘Let me lay it down first. So, You sell me that armour little cheaper, say, fifty gold. I use it to win in that silly tournament and I give you half a price, which I believe would be 500 gold. Doesn’t it sound like win-win?’

There was one weird thought to have. She blinked, pondering, how that even entered her mind. If she had knowledge of the storywriter, she might have said something about filthy Homestucks, but alas she did not. So slowly, she looked down and stared at her own hands, ever so slowly digging them out of the pockets of her pants. That was far less comfortable than before, but the arms were retrieved, successfully. Wiggling her fingers in the air, palms at the height of her chest, she looked like a deeply confused idiot. The mission was a success. As she mumbled under her breath, sometime, somewhere in the world a portal opened up dropping pair of clay hands on the grass, spooking a group of rabbits.

Festival, right. She was ought to leave soon if she did not want to miss all the attractions. Still holding the book close to her chest, she moved back to her room, placing the book in her locked chest. As she looked outside the window, the narrow streets were already filling out with crowds of travellers, merchants, excited kids and occasional pickpockets. She made sure to loosen her pouch and leave only amount she thought she needed. If she actually discovered some rare, more expensive ‘treasure’ among the rows of merchant stands, she can always come back for more coin. It took additional ten minutes to braid her hair and hide few more weapons on her person, just in case. Better prepared than sorry. She close the window, covered the bed and locked the door of the room, running downstairs and leaving the inn, on light feet, pacing towards square where everything was happening. Even from afar she could already hear the loud announcement of town speaker (screamer) and excited hums of the townsfolk and the guests. After about ten minutes of manoeuvring in between groups of people, the knight was greeted with colourful display. The round square was filled with merchant stands, placed in two rows outside of the centre. Right in the centre was a scene, divided in four parts, each presenting different arts and crafts. There were wizards showing off their magic, bards, theatres and other fascinating arts. In between those and the stands, there were sculptors, engineers and painters, calling over to either show off their art or to propose a portrait and handmade piece. Behind the square there was large patch of grass, surrounded with wooden fence, where she could see some teenagers ‘knocking heads’ or fighting with wooden swords. She assumed this was where the duelling contest will happen later. Honestly, her head was spinning and there was too much to see and explore. What should she do? (You guys can make a decision on her action, for which I will later throw d20 dice and decide how well she succeeded, please send the actions into ask box.) 1) Sign up for the duelling tournament! 2) Go watch the performances! 3) Go look for some new armour, god damn it. 4) Other (free option for you guys to run wild with)
@knowingoverseer
