âNo he, just said I need to to start respecting men because theyâre âsuperiorâ to me.â
âWhereâs the guy? Iâm sorry you had to experience that. Are you alright though?â
âHe was seeing and by seeing, I mean fucking me while also fucking my roommate and lying to us both about it. She was fairly heartbroken about the whole affair so I decided that he must pay.â
âOh then he deserves it. But you never know though. He might be kinky and would like the hot sauce lube.â
â all right. iâm really happy for you then. â she smiles. â ice cream sounds amazing right now. since thereâs no make out contest now, anyway. â
âWould you seriously make out with alot of people here?â

âItâs a term of endearment in the alien world, human.â Delilah teased him before letting out another giggle when he pinched her nose. âAnd what exactly was that for, huh?â She gently nudged him before letting their noses touch, letting the intimacy envelop them like the covers they were both under last night. âI really want that, but pinky promise weâll do better to make sure we last this time? No more excuses that we donât have enough time for the other, okay?â Delilah asked, sticking her pinky finger out so they could link them.
âIt is?â His eyes all wide as he go along their human and alien endearment for each other. âThatâs what humans do when we find something cute.âAnd he pulled her closer to him, his lips brushing against hers as their noses touched. His nervousness, was replaced by butterflies in his stomach which was definitely a good sign. This meant nothing changed since the last time they were together. He held out his pinky finger and intertwined it against hers. âI pinky promise. This time, it will be better.â and then kissed her hand. âI didnât know aliens do pinky swear.â He said before chuckling.
Anyone but Delilah.
âWhy? Well too bad. Weâre together now and you canât do anything about it.â

The gap before she answered was proabably the longest gap Gavin had experienced. Although it was probably just a minute or even seconds. Gavin mirrored her soft smile. âWeâll make it work.â He repeated with a now widening smile. Gavin can feel her heart jump with happiness as she gave him an eskimo kiss. He had missed that too. âWeâll work this time. Humans and aliens have a history of working things out you know?â He grinned before chuckling and pulling her onto his lap. This time, Gavin was sure he had learned his lesson. He knew not to let go and not to give up especially with what heâs feeling for her.
Delilah gladly complied with staying on his lap, feeling so contented that she couldnât figure out any other way to spend the first day of 2016. She cupped his cheeks with her hands and leaned in to kiss him gently, like the entire situation would break from its perfection if she kissed him too hard or handed him too tightly. Needless to say, she was still a little shocked as to what was happening since she really didnât have any idea that any of this would be happening when she got to that party yesterday. âMy little human.â She giggled as she recalled the first time they talked to each other, all those months ago. âMy human.â She repeated with a large grin. âThis means weâre back together, right?â
He smiled at the kiss, still keeping it soft. He had missed those lips that all he wants was to feel them against his. All he ever wanted for 2016 was to be closer to her as a friend, thinking that this was impossible but loom at them now? This was definitely better. "Little?" He chuckled and pinch her nose gently. "I missed the sound of your giggles." He said and kissed her gently. It felt like a deja vu from their first date only they know each other better now. "Yes. I would want that. But what do you want, Dee?" He asked her, nervousness creeping in him again.
Gavin placed his drink down on the table before sighing. âI think I made you uncomfortable the other night⊠Either that or you think Iâm an ass.â He ran a hand through his hair. âYou probably still canât remember.â Gavin still remembered everything that night even though he had a drink or two. âYou told me I look like your uncle with the snake eyes and then I asked you if heâs good looking as I am and stuff.â
Max listened to the guy, not really following what he was saying. The events of the other night simply escaped her. The most she remembered was maybe watching some rom-coms with Alex. Granted, that was the last thing she did that night. Everything prior was just some hazy blur of hanging out with people she couldnât put faces to. The next of what Gavin said did spark something to her. âOh, fuck,â she said, possibly startling him and definitely the woman in the next table. âNo, Gavin. Itâs totally cool. You donât have to apologize for that.â
Gavin was definitely surprised and expected an outburst but he sighed out of relief. "I just felt bad because I made you uncomfortable. I just want you to know that I'm not really like that."
âBut that is considered as stealing stillâŠâ
He looked down at his stash before glancing at the broken machine. âDude, come on, free stuff? I wonât tell if you wonât, treat yoâself.â
But..." He looked at his stash then at the machine. "Ugh. Fine. Hand me some chips please."
He sighed before looking at her. His eyes full of sincerity. âWeâll make it work, Dee.â His eyes pleading too and he squeezed her hand. His feelings never changed for her. âI want you, Dee.â He said honestly and he intertwined their fingers together. âBut Iâll respect whatever it is that you would want.â As much as he would want her back, he knew he had to accept what she would want.
Delilah knew it shouldnât be such a hard choice but she couldnât help but be paranoid that theyâd break up again for the same reason, no matter how stupid it actually was. She looked into his eyes and saw that perhaps, they could make it work this time. Against all odds, they could try again and maybe even last this time but she had to ask herself if the risk outweighed the consequences. In the end, would she find herself grasping for something to hold onto or would they be holding onto each other? Delilah bit down on her lower lip and started to smile softly. âThen weâll make it work.â She murmured, leaning in to give him an Eskimo kiss. âWeâll make it work, Gavy.â Delilah repeated, the smile widening now.
The gap before she answered was proabably the longest gap Gavin had experienced. Although it was probably just a minute or even seconds. Gavin mirrored her soft smile. "We'll make it work." He repeated with a now widening smile. Gavin can feel her heart jump with happiness as she gave him an eskimo kiss. He had missed that too. "We'll work this time. He knew not to let go and not to give up especially with what he's feeling for her.
â but youâre sure about it, right? about the two of you? â she asks out of concern for him. â iâm glad youâre in a good mood though, but no drinking for you! â
Gavin nodded and grinned. âIâve never been this sure in my life, North. Well do you want an ice cream then?â
Max let Gavin lead the way to a table, feeling a shift in the mood, but she wasnât really bothered, at least not yet. She took a seat. âMhmm,â she agreed, taking a sip of her drink. âSo whatâs this about, mister?â
Gavin placed his drink down on the table before sighing. âI think I made you uncomfortable the other night...
