I’m ready to show Agravain to the world XD!

I have a real love-hate relationship with this doll. His expression is exactly what I want from a Boy Agravain, but his eeeeeyes are so laaaarge. The eye thing didn’t strike me when I bought him - I adored this sculpt - but in the meantime I’ve realised that pretty much all my dolls have a more realistic eye size and D.i.M. Jullis is the odd one out.

Agravain’s tunic is a bit short because he’s growing quite fast... Morgause will need to make him a new one soon!

*I* still need to make him a small dagger and scabbard to hang off his belt.

So - that’s three out of four Orkney boys done! Only Gawain still left to dress. Of course he is the most difficult. I don’t have a clear notion of the look of his clothes yet...

He’s a Dollzone Dreaming Hal (the same face sculpt as my little Gawain, just with his eyes almost closed) and I just love him to bits.

Next up: Agravain.

Gareth, future Kitchen Knight

My little Gareth is done! He's an Iplehouse KID Lonnie. I painted his face and made his clothes, which I admit turned out slightly more Viking-style than originally intended, but I really like the look.

I'll probably blush his hands and fingernails at some point and maybe make shoes for him, mostly as protection for when I take him out, because I'm kind of partial to bare feet in my Orkney princes :p.

Gingalain, Gawain’s eldest :). I promise he’ll look like a knight one day! For now, he looks like a sailor and I have just knitted a cabled hat for him...

For @bjdchallenge - my witch lady Morgana. I took her outside for the first time ever, to have her Halloween picture taken in the park...

Anna Morcades came to Edinburgh with me! It was my first time travelling with a doll. I’m always self-conscious about carrying a doll around, but - I did enjoy it, and Anna got some camera time. Pocket-size dollies are excellent ;-)...

Finally, finally, finally! After two years of nakedness - but, seriously, that Dollshe 28M Classic body is NOT meant to be clothed (it is absolutely gorgeous, but apart from that, also hell to dress properly) - Arthur has clothes.

It took ages to overcome my procrastinative nature and my dread that this would all go Terribly Wrong, but on this doll I did almost everything myself. The only items I bought are his eyes (Eyeco 5mm) and Excalibur.

The only thing that I feel is missing is some jewellery. It would be brilliant if I could find him a ring, and I’ll definitely make him a necklace. Maybe a small pouch as an accessory would be nice too.

If you are wondering why he is wearing sandals (NOT a thing I found in my Late Roman reference material), it is simply because a) I received geta feet with my set, and therefore felt morally obliged to use them, and b) his feet are so wonderfully gorgeous. It’s already a shame that I covered up so much else of him; the least I can do is show off his hands and feet.

So! That’s my young King Arthur. I am ridiculously pleased with him right now XD.

Valentine’s day is drawing near, so I had to take a few photos of my favourite couple... 

Gawain (I) is a La Légende de Temps Roderich on a Dollzone 65 cm body; Ragnell is a Supia Rosy on a 5star Doll body.

Modern AU Florie, I guess :).

When Granado announced, ages ago now, that they were down to the last few Sidonias, I bought an extra head, with face-up. (I don't deal very well with limited dolls. I mean, what if I ruin the head somehow and I can never get a replacement ever again?!)

But professionally face-upped Flo looks so modern and different from medieval and Sigune-face-upped Flo that she requires different hair and different clothes. I think she looks like a vintage film star. Hence the cigarette.

It’s @mirrorada‘s BJD Nose Day! I have something with noses - I love a good nose, not just on BJDs - so of course I *had* to participate :).

Here he is, my Arthur! He is still waiting for clothes, but I couldn’t resist showing him off already, because I like him so very much. One of my reasons for getting this sculpt for Arthur is that lovely, pensive expression.

Amhar and Anna Morcades :). Anna Morcades is Gawain’s daughter with Lady Kundry, the Haughty Lady of Logres - that’s Orgueuilleuse in Chrétien de Troyes’s Perceval.
