"I think I'm gonna hurl... "

“I knew that it was a bad idea for you to eat all of those Cookie Cats.” Garnet looked at the half gem and carefully picked him up. She held onto him and looked around. She knew that the poor boy had been under a lot of stress and he probably was eating to make himself feel better. “Let’s go to the store and get you some medicine for that tummy ache. I promise that I won’t leave your side Steven.”

“ I know I shouldn’t have.. They were just really good, and I hadn’t had anything else all day so I was hungry.” Steven groaned when Garnet picked him up, lightly clutching his queasy stomach and leaning into her chest. The recent stress and pressure had made it a bit difficult for him to eat at times, and so when his appetite had returned somewhat that morning he’d gone a bit overboard. The first Cookie Cat had been so delicious that he couldn’t resist having a second, and a third.. It wasn’t until the fourth one that he had rather abruptly lost his desire to eat again, and only a short while after that his stomach had begun turning. He’d thought little of it until the nausea had really set in, but now every movement made him want to gag. It was getting out of hand. The idea of medicine, or virtually anything he’d have to ingest, evoked a whine and a face of disgust from the small gem, and he pitifully glanced up at his guardian. “Do we have to..? Medicine always tastes so nasty, and I’m worried that if I try to swallow anything else it won’t stay down.. I’m already not sure that everything is going to stay down as it is..”

The fusion thought about the problem. She nodded her head slowly. Knowing that if Steven even attempted to ingest medicine that he would have difficulty keeping it down. Garnet slowly started to rub his back as she carefully started to walk with him.  “We’re not going to get any medicine. It’s just going to cause you problems. Instead we’re going to see if some fresh air does any good for you.”  The taller gem walked over to the door and looked down at him.  “Are you okay with doing that?”  It was rather warm. So she knew that Steven would have less of a chance getting sicker by being outside.

The fusion couldn’t help but gasp just slightly as she was wrapped in one of her leader’s hugs. Garnet allowed the other to rest her head against her shoulder as she closed her eyes.  “I don’t mind the sudden affection. But may I ask what this is about?”  Her voice was a bit soft as she spoke to the pinkette.

Rose let out a short laugh at Garnet’s surprise – it was always such a thrill when she caught the other gem off-guard. She hugged Garnet a little closer to her, letting out a soft sigh at the question.

“I’m not sure. I saw some humans doing the same thing and it seemed.. nice. I wanted to try, and it really is.. pleasant.”

She turned to face the other gem and looked her in the eyes. Rose spoke the truth. Garnet knew that Sapphire and Ruby loved hugging a lot when they weren’t fused as her.  “I know it is quite pleasant. Ruby and Sapphire did that a lot while they were separated.”  Garnet continued to hold on to her leader for a moment more. After a moment she pulled away and looked at the gems on her hands.  “Rose?”

           Gliding up behind the one she had her affections set upon,            Rose smiled broadly, wrapping her arms around them in            a hug from behind, pulling them close and dropping her            head upon their shoulder. 

      “I hope you don’t mind surprise hugs..!”

Being an artist and having no one to network/rub elbows with you is an absolutely horrible feeling. Artists want their artwork seen and appreciated, even if their art isn’t the best. It’s the primary reason many artists keep drawing and trying to improve in the first place.

If you see an artist getting no comments/likes/reblogs/etc., give them a little appreciation. Some of us work our butts off for just one good compliment. And “nice” or “good job” only goes so far. A couple full sentences can completely brighten an artist’s day. Seriously, I have had people practically jump up and down in their seats because I wrote them a constructive critique. Feedback means the world to people…

Jenny watched as the gem monster was thrown against the pizza shop. Terror ran through her as piece of the roof crumbled to the side. She started to run to it, her family was still in there, maybe if she got there fast enough—–

The roof caved in and fell to the floor. The teen fell to her knees as the realization kicked in. The sounds of the monster being destroyed and bubbled is what caused her to look over her shoulder, her eyes meeting with the sunglasses of the tallest gem.

“Can you…save them?”

The gem physically grimaced as she noticed the beast crushed the roof of the pizza place. Garnet quickly looked over once the girl fell to her knees. She moved over to the building and summoned her gauntlets.

"I will get them out. And I assure you. They are going to be fine."

Garnet started to throw the rubble to the side. Keeping her eye out for the Pizzas.

"Fuse with me!"

Send in “Fuse with me!” for my muse’s reaction to yours asking to fuse.

        Garnet’s request drew a smile out of the taller gem, and she         nodded her head once. Fusing with Garnet was their best         hope at getting out of the situation they had found themselves         in, and their fusion, Rubellite, was always a delight to form. 

                         “Right. Let’s do this, Garnet!” 

        Closing her eyes, Rose got into position, and her gem began         to glow signifying that she was ready to begin the fusion dance.

The smaller gem focused on relaxing herself. Garnet’s gems started to glow as she moved slowly. She started to dance and looked towards Rose without a second thought.

Garnet knew that it would be a better way of getting out of the situation.

“Rose, I promise I will help get you out of this.”

Rose spun, her dress billowing out around her legs, opening up slightly like the petals of a flower, and she smiled, her gem glowing brighter still. Her hands found Garnet’s and she used the gentle grsp to pull herself inwards, closer towards her with a wider smile.

“I know, Garnet – We’ll do this together, as Rubellite.” 

She spun and twisted with Garnet, spinning out briefly before spinning herself inwards, wrapping her arms around the smaller gem, her body turning to light, ready to fuse.

The fusion's body started to turn to light as well as she danced with the pink haired gem. She was hoping that they would be able to get out of their situation safely.

Garnet started to meld with Rose. Fusing with her was fairly easy. Because she always had a calm aura about her.

Garnet blinked and looked at Pearl. She cleared her throat before speaking. The taller female had to put the words together in her head. "I am nervous too."
