Cheer-up tickles are genuinely some of my favorite things ever

Example

You've just finished crying, and your friend is comforting you. But you've still got that lingering sadness, that heaviness that comes after crying due to a tough situation.

They pull you into a side-hug, which starts out as just another means of comfort. You feel their fingers moving gently on your side, and you bite back a smile. But they, of course, notice.

"Oh, does that tickle?"

Their fingers are now deliberately attacking. It's so much easier to laugh after you'd had a good cry, so the giggles come tumbling out before you can stop them.

They might play dumb. "What's the matter? I'm trying to comfort you here, and you're laughing at me!"

They might point out the new smile that occupied your face. "There's the smile! I was wondering where it went."

They might even comment on your giggles. "See, now that sounds much better than you crying, wouldn't you agree?"

But by the end of it, no matter what, you're smiling and laughing, all memories of crying and the cause temporarily gone from your mind

hi lee mood’s back because i tried to ler in a switch mood and life jsut likes to fiddle my holes so

started imagining (mid game btw) okay so

getting pissed off while playing a game, visibly for an irl ler and audibly for a virtual ler (going quiet, getting snappy, etc)

(for irl): and your ler notices, giving a small smile and scooting closer to you. “d’aw, it’s okay.. not everyone’s as good as me~!” you glare at them, shoving them back and leaving the game you’re in before tossing your device (or turning off your device). they chuckle and skitter their fingers lightly up your side, making you jerk from being caught off guard. “cmon.. where’s that smile?” they wrap their arm gently around your torso and pull you closer, scribbling their fingers over your tummy and watching you hold back a laugh. they snicker smugly, leaning closer before blow a raspberry into the back of your neck. you shriek, squealing and giggling your ass off. your ler smiles stupidly wide and says “aw, there’s that laugh.”

(for virtual): your ler notices how quiet you got, speaking up and saying “[your name]? you alright?”. you passive aggressively answer with an “mhm.”, making your way around the game you’re in. your ler follows you around the map as they speak. “yooouu sure?” they call in a tone that makes your stomach turn in a way that wasn’t anger, or a negative feeling at all. “don’t- ..shut up. stop following me!” you let out a small whine, a smile slowly forming on your face. your ler smirked to themself, continuing to follow you. “awh, whyyyy….~” they said, holding back a laugh at your silly whine. “behecause! ihim trying- i’m-“ you stammer. “oh? is someone getting giggly? what happened to being mad?” “shUhuhut uhup! i’m trying- i’m tryhying to fohocus!” you whine again, giggling your ass off and running into walls on your game. “can’t walk straight, huh? does it tickle to press the buttons?” they asked playfully. “dOhohont- don’t- doN’t say THAT.” “what? tickle? tiiickletickletickle~?” they spoke in a teasy tone. “shUHUt- i- ehe- ihim- im gonna FUHUCKING LEHEAVE.” “noooo, cmon! then i can’t tickle your tummy!” and you immediately leave, just to be met with another hour of them teasing the fuck out of you.

I’m laying on my tummy on the couch, maybe scrolling on my phone or watching TV. The ler notices me from the hallway, noting my incredibly vulnerable position. I start laughing at something funny. The ler sneaks up behind me, quickly squeezing and tasing my sides while taunting me “What’s so funny giggles?”. I shriek and kick my legs into the cushions, then try to scrunch up my body to protect myself. The ler grabs my ankles, sitting on the back of my legs. Then takes my wrists and pins those down too. Using their free hand to scribble over my back and sides under my shirt. Or blowing raspberries on my neck. Maybe they’ll keep going until I tell them “what’s so funny”, but it’d be impossible. I’ll be giggling and laughing helplessly until they decide when I get my well deserved mercy.
