Yuri looked at the boy strangely. The question didnât make any sense in his mind. âI donât know what ritual youâre talking about, but I sure didnât do it,â he answered simply.
Or did he? His mind was growing a bit fuzzy, his memories clearing then fading again. He blamed it on the heat.
"Dammit, this is almost as bad as the desertâŠ" Yuri mumbled to himself with a grit of his teeth before focusing on the boy in front of him again.
How long had he been here? A good question. With the temperature and repeating scenery of ghost town it was hard to stay focussed on trivial things like time. ââŠI donât know really. Twenty, thirty minutes maybe. Could be an hour. Iâve never been good with time.â
He didn't perform it? The idea of amnesia did cross his mind, but he remembered dying awfully well. He didn't exactly want to remember it, but perhaps describing it could spike the stranger's memory? "The one with the paper doll, it was called. . ." He trailed off, trying to remember the name of the ritual. "Sachiko Ever After!" Speaking the name was enough to send a chill down his spine. Yeah, that was the name. If he could forget the ritual and his time in Heavenly Host, he'd take it immediately.
Hot? He could have just said it was hot. Yoshiki frowned, crossing his arms in irritation. "Yeah, well, we're not in a desert, so it shouldn't be so damned hot here." Although grateful to have left the school, he wanted to go home. He didn't want to stick around in some town that's going to cook him alive. The blond wiped the sweat off his brow, and silently praying the buildings had air conditioning. Seriously.
The amount of time the stranger had been here was too long. Twenty minutes to an hour? No, thank you. This guy must serious tolerate the heat to still be standing on his two feet.

"Isnât it always?"
"Exactly."
Eh? He denied her offer? Was she being too straight forward? Oh God, she hoped she hadnât. But then again, they barely even knew each other, so it would make sense that he would politely decline her offer. Nodding thoughtfully, she tucked some blonde hair behind her ear and twiddled her fingers as she awaited his next comment.
"Whatâs going on here? What is this place and why is it so damned hot?â
Head tilt. She hadnât expected to be interrogated right at her doorstep, but shrugged. Better give him answers, yeah? âWell, youâre in the heat haze, so thatâs why itâs so hot! Heat haze is self-explanatory, isnât it?â The humor wasnât needed, but oh well. Thatâs how she usually was when talking about such serious topics.
Heat haze? He didn't understand what she meant, but hey, he'd just come out of a haunted elementary school with four sadistic children spirits trying to murder everyone. And after experiencing this, he wasn't going to leave the chance to forever be out of that place. So at this, he released the breath he never realized he'd been holding, and cracked a small smile to himself. A small, relieved smile, before shifting into a joyful grin.
Even with this new "Heat Haze", Yoshiki was out of Heavenly Host. And so, he wanted to celebrate. Of course the girl before him was not the girl he wanted to be with when he escaped, and this caused his smile to falter. Yes, that's right. He needed to find Ayumi, he needed to know if she made it out in time. The blond youth returned to his usual "tough guy" act and continued on as if that moment of joy had never happened.
"Heat Haze? What is that supposed to mean?" His face scrunched into an irritated look as he spoke those words. "Is there a way out of this oven? I'm going to die of heatstroke otherwise!"
It's warm today.

He gets a roommate, and it turns out to be a twelve year old boy. He really isn't that great with kids! Bah. . .
Oh, how interesting! His hair was of a light colour, just like Konohaâs! It was kinda funny to her, considering sheâs seen two people already with an unnatural looking hair colour. But hey, she really shouldnât be judging; sheâs a Japanese person born with blonde hair. Thatâs gotta be weird.
Anyways, she continued smiling at the other, and nodded her head at his short and rather awkward greeting. He seemed much like her reclusive brother; quiet and kept to himself. But hopefully, that wouldnât get in the way of them becoming good friends!
"Hello there!" came the reply. "Is there something you needed, or did you come to say hello? Oh, wait, do you wanna come in?" A puzzled expression crossed her face as she tilted her head. It would be polite to invite him in, right? She was always told that she needed to be more prim and proper, since she was a lady. As if!
This only caused Yoshiki to break in a nervous sweat, unsure of what to say now. He must look quite pathetic at the moment, and he could not accept that. He'd almost forgotten what he was here for, but the youth managed to grip it tight before it escaped. Yes, that's right: he needed to question this girl, now that it's clear he wasn't alone in. . . Wherever this was.
Now, Yoshiki wasn't exactly interested in becoming a detective once out of school, but it didn't hurt to know where he was. It'd be quite painful if he didn't know, actually. And so, here he was, looking for answers from a blonde-haired girl. Great.
Come on, Yoshiki. You're being pathetic. The blond straightened himself, arms uncrossing to wipe the sweat off his brow. He didn't return the stranger's smile, instead sending her a disinterested frown. "Ah, yeah, hello. I'm fine here." He refused to meet her gaze, still focusing on the empty space beside him. Now wasn't the time for awkwardness, though, for he needed answers from her as soon as possible.
The red from his flushing cheeks faded at this thought, and his face shifted from slight embarrassment to sternness. "What's going on here? What is this place, and why is it so damned hot?"
Same here tbh.

gayshiki came knocking on your door !
Just after she had set her belongings down, there was already a knock at her door? Honestly, she couldnât even lay down for a minute or two without being bothered! But then again, the blonde had just moved into her apartment, so she assumed that her neighbors were being friendly.
Standing up from her rather comfortable bed with a sigh, Momo stretched her arms as she begrudgingly walked over to the door. With another sigh, she grinned brightly and opened the door to her new neighbor.
"Hello there! I just moved in!" She decided not to include her name, nervous that the other might recognize her as the famous idol, Momo Kisaragi!
At most times, Yoshiki would rather keep to himself. He wasn't one for social interactions, and that negative aura which emanated from him usually was enough to drive others away. Yeah, it could be lonely sometimes, but he usually didn't mind it. After all, he had Ayumi and the others; even Satoshi was there for him.
Now the blond youth was alone, and so he'd have to face everything by himself.
He found himself waiting outside another's door. Ah, greeting someone wouldn't be so difficult, would it? Of course Ayumi was the one who spoke to him first, and Yoshiki wasn't skilled in socializing with strangers. Hey, but as long as the universe didn't explode from his awkward actions, it'll be fine--! Right?
And the door opened, revealing a blonde girl in a pink and white jacket. She was a little pretty, though Yoshiki quickly shrugged away the thought. Her greeting was cheerful and loud, a tone the other boy could never do when meeting strangers.
Yoshiki crossed his arms with a heavy sigh. He relied to heavily on his friend Ayumi on these situations, causing the boy to have trouble finding his words.
"Hey," was all he could muster, a bit of red flushing his cheeks. Not wanting to stare directly at the stranger, he shifted his gaze to the empty space beside him.
((I donât think anyone understands how much I want to use this icon but canât because thatâs not a thing Hibari would actually doâŠ.. //laughs))
oh baby
stuck in-between
Yuri didnât know how long he had been walking around when he heard an unfamiliar voice call out to him. He was already turning around when the stranger laid a shoulder.
When he realized it was just a kid, Yuri turned to him fully with a shake of his head. âNo idea. I was actually hoping to find someone who does, but⊠No luck with that yet.â
Well, the stranger who now faced him was rather, to put it simply, strange. Either that, or Yoshiki simply doesn't like the color purple. Hm.
The youth furrowed his eyebrows, pondering the predicament he now so clearly wasn't alone in. Perhaps it had something to do with. . .? "Are you one of the people who did that ritual? Or. . ." If he has, then Yoshiki might then be convinced that this is the afterlife. He didn't like that idea, though. Being dead was, what's the word? Unsettling. He had to remind himself that those who died in Heavenly Host were trapped there in agony for eternity, though it didn't help him in his so obvious discomfort.
He couldn't die yet, but he could remember being ripped apart by children. It was all too confusing! Where he was standing now, however, wasn't home. It was hot--too hot--and the red sky was certainly not of this world. Chances were, Yoshiki Kishinuma was indeed in the afterlife, but he refused to believe it. He couldn't be dead.
Damn, he's thinking too much. Using his sleeve to wipe the sweat off his forehead, he spoke again, "How long have you been here?" How long has Yoshiki been in this strange new city? For like, twenty minutes.
May I Smoke?
stuck in-between
He remembered pain. He remembered the feeling of having a sword stuck in his stomach and an indifferent expression on the bladeâs wielder.
But the memory that hurt most were the piercing cries of his friends.
He shook his head to get rid of that thought and focused on a more recent memory. A hissing voice, telling him to open eyes.
So he did.
The young man opened his eyes and immediatly noticed the burning sensation running through them but didnât pay it any mind. Yuri saw a red sky and far too tall buildings. He wasnât used to the scenery, but that wasnât new. After getting up from ridiculously uncomfortable pavement, he stretched his aching muscles before deciding to take a look around.
"âŠYeah, Iâm definitely cursed," he mumbled under his breath.
Yoshiki couldn't understand what made him come here. He couldn't have come with his friends who survived the horrific school of Heavenly Host, could he? And even if he did, the pain of being ripped apart by the spirits wouldn't have faded, He's supposed to be a bloody mess, not completely unharmed. Not free from the school's clutches; he should be a spirit who would forever walk those halls. And yet, he's not. He's alive, he's alive, he's--
Yes, that's right. He's alive. Yoshiki Kishinuma was alive, and that's what matters. He didn't have any plans on wondering as to why he was alive and breathing. What matters now was where he was and. . . Where to find Ayumi.
He needed to find Ayumi, if she was here--! Â No, she had to be here!
He walked down the lonely street at a decent pace. Nobody else seemed to be here, and that alone made the blond youth uncomfortable. This place, wherever it was, was as dangerous as Heavenly Host Elementary, and this was a fact he knew well. It wasn't over, and could never be.
Was that another man? Yoshiki's eyes caught sight of a human-like figure. Did he by any chance know what was happening around him? Best thing to do was to ask for some help.
"Hey!" Once caught up to him, the youth rested a hand on the stranger's shoulder. "Do you know where this is?"
