THE WALKING DEAD | 4.10 “Inmates”
@lxchadora
Why is the Tara tag so horrible? Like? I just want cute gifs and things, not someone's readerxtara, weird fanfics or someone's life story. I've blocked almost everything in it just to make it clean.

TARA AND ROSITA IN THE WALKING DEAD | 5.10 “Them”
@lxchadora
Rosita's lips curved up in a smile as she registered that woman's shift in body language at her compliment. She found it strangely charming.
They could always use capable people. For as valuable as Eugene was, sometimes it got tiring protecting him. Without a doubt, she would trade her life for his, but the fact that he couldn't get past his anxiety of facing a single, weak shambler got on her nerves sometimes. Having someone exceptional like her in the group who could handle several sort of compensated for that. And Glenn seemed like a capable guy as well.
"We've been out here for a long time", Rosita replied, realizing it was a stupidly vague answer and pausing for a few seconds as she thought of how long it's been exactly. "It's just been the three of us for the past few months, but.."
For a moment, she was unsure of how to phrase it, and the realization that she was never going to see Stephanie, Pam, Warren or the others ever again hit her.
Some days she'd come across something that Steph would have liked, like those rainbow-colored tarts, and she'd smile and think of handing her the package only to realize a second later that it had been a foolish thought, the image of her pulling the trigger to shoot her friend flashing before her eyes..
Everybody she has ever cared about had eventually succumbed to this harsh world, except for Abraham and Eugene.
"We used to travel with a larger group", Rosita added, deciding that she didn't need to fill in the details. What had happened was pretty obvious, wasn't it? Anyone who was alive had gone through the same struggle.
"What about you two? You seem like you've been out there together for a while."
@gaytwizzlers
Tara picked up the stick beside her and started to poke the embers with it. The fire had to stay low enough that it kept them off of people's radar, but light enough that it warmed their group. It was really an impossible situation.
"Did you ever think the world would be like this?" the tomboy snorted lazily. She dotted the tip of the stick on the ground to put the small flames out, and then placed it back down beside her once more.
"It feels like we need marshmallows and chocolate." she chuckled.
Always one to be optimistic and hopeful. That was Tara for you. At Rosita's words, she turned her head to face the other in the dimly lit light. Tara nodded.
"Me too." she replied quietly. "When the shit hit the fan, some asshole came to our door and swept my sister off of her feet. Lilly was notorious for getting into relationships with shitty people, but this guy took the cake."
She frowned. "Everything that happened was because of him. Me and my girlfriend--we were on the wrong side of the war. His war. And Glenn, he found me at the prison. I was ready to die. My gun didn't have any bullets missing, so he took a chance on me. And now, he's looking for his wife Maggie. And that asshole...Brian, or whatever his name was, took their home. Killed his wife's father right in front of her and her little sister."
Tara blinked.
"I owe him my life, and I don't care what it takes. We're going to find her." @lxchadora
Starter for Tara
It had been a marvel that Rosita and her group had come across another survivor out there. The three of them had been on their own for months after losing Stephanie. Despite their cautiousness which came in equal measure to their willpower, the group had gotten smaller and smaller over time. People dying of bite wounds, disease, and one person disappearing. Stephanie had been bitten and cornered by the dead, resulting in Rosita making the tough call and shooting her so she wouldn’t have to suffer through the pain of being devoured alive.
No day went by without them checking every corner, thinking of every possible outcome for each action.. as decisions were like domino stones, one step into the wrong direction could cause colossal fuck-ups.
That’s why there were so few people left.
They’ve been constantly traveling intending to to find a cure in D.C, but they have seen nothing but undead, sometimes hordes of them which forced them to head in another direction. The very reason why they haven’t gotten to D.C yet.
It seemed like an endless trip to Rosita some days.
Seeing that Tara was still awake, Rosita walked over to the woman sitting by the bonfire Eugene had made who was in a deep slumber. Abraham had told Tara that she could go to sleep and they’d take turns watching over each other. Did she not trust them?
Not that Rosita blamed her. There were some messed up groups out there.
“Hey”, Rosita greeted as she gazed into the woman’s face, arms crossed. “You know, we didn’t mean to..”
Taking a breath, she considered her next words carefully, “..watch you die. But we have to be careful with strangers, careful with who we use our bullets for, and when.” Rosita explained, very well aware that it might be a cold thing to say. But it was the truth. They were low on resources, and this mission mattered more than anything. Plus, they didn't have silencers. Gunshots could always attract danger.
“Besides, we knew you could handle yourself.. I mean. Look at you.”
Well, that was fair. Tara sat in front of the low fire, both trying to keep warm and also being the lookout. She didn't require much sleep these days. It was hard to sleep anyway. Especially after thinking about her awful ex-girlfriend Samantha, or losing Alisha to that awful man her sister had chosen to shack up with. The Governor and his bullshit. Meghan. Lilly. They were all dead now.
"Yeah." the brunette chuckled. She combed some of her jaw-length bangs out of her face that had fallen from her ponytail and glanced over at Glenn who was sound asleep lying on his hiking pack.
"I get it." she offered a small smile, trying to distract herself from staring at Rosita's breasts through her low cut shirt. Abraham had spoken earlier about how those 'things were damn near hypnotic'. He had also joked about wanting to see 'Rosita's cans' and then promptly handed her two cans of beans. Well, she probably deserved that one.
Okay, subject change. "So, how long have you guys been out here?" Tara was slightly cocky from how the other had mentioned she could defend herself fine. Puffing her chest out triumphantly with that Lebanese swagger. Good lord, Chambler.
The only question was, was this guy for real about being a scientist? Last the young woman checked, the CDC was gone and the whole world was fucked. Could there really be a cure out there?
@lxchadora
Mm. The Tara tag scares the shit out of me.
