A gasp of relief escaped Rosita's lips seeing that Ruth was still alive. She had thought she was dead and was about to turn into one of these things as still as her body had been. To know this was actually happening was unbelievably hard to process. To know what choice they had just made, leaving Pamela and Conrad behind. It was against everything Rosita believed in. Part of her wanted to fall to the ground in shame. Slap herself. God, why? Why had she done it? And going back now would be suicidal.
Warren had been the one to ask where Pamela and Conrad were, but the look on Rosita's face was everything he needed for his expression to shift into one of grief and horror. "Oh.." he spoke quietly.
The walk to the hill had been just as nasty. Every time Rosita felt like she had the chance to regulate that tortured nervous system of hers and take a deep breath or two, another undead would show up. They were everywhere. And it was only after killing a few of them that Rosita had noticed that Chaser was gone, too! But she didn't even bother to ask where he had gone. She knew the answer. Her face remained hardened, twisted into a bitter expression the whole time as they walked up to that hill. Maybe they would still be able to contact that military camp. They were probably still on the radio searching for a way to talk to Kyleigh, right? No way they would give up that quickly.
"What the hell do we do? We need a doctor," Rosita chided, feeling somehow stupid to point out something so painfully obvious but damn, the uncertainty of what was about to happen was tearing her up from the inside.
"Maybe they can send someone. They must have doctors.. right? They've survived for so long!" Irina pointed out.
Feeling guilt over death wasn't something Kyleigh often felt. She was so used to it because of what she was that it was just second nature to her now. But this wasn't just some random death because of her lycan nature. These were the deaths of two people she had gotten to know and respect over the last few days. And by now she could only guess that they had been torn to pieces by those dead things, not the respectful death they deserved. As much as those thoughts kept plaguing her mind she had to keep pushing forward. The others had made it out alive, she had made it out alive. Now it was up to them to continue on in honor of those they had lost.
When Warren finally asked about Pamela and Conrad she was fully ready to tell him what they had done, the sacrifice they made for herself and Rosita. But he took one look at the brunette's face and knew without the words having to be said. In a way it helped to ease some of the guilt, but that feeling was probably going to linger for a long time.

Not only were there more dead now (coming from all angles too), the silence among the survivors weighted heavily on their shoulders. Kyleigh couldn't blame any of them for not wanting to talk. It was still just as empty as she and Warren had left it earlier that day and it would give them all a chance to finally sit down. Rest probably wasn't what any of them wanted, too much time to actually think of the shit they had been through. But it was what they all needed. Ruth was placed carefully on level ground, her pulse checked once more as well as the shirt wrapped around her arm. It looked like the blood flow had eased up, but she was so pale and clammy to the touch.
Walking towards the highest point of the hill Kyleigh took the radio out and turned it back on, flipping through the channels in hopes she would come in contact with that other group. Nothing but static met her, but she wasn't giving up just yet.
"If not they might have supplies or know where we can get more help." She added as she walked back over towards Rosita and Irina.
"Hello? Kyleigh is that you?" The same voice from earlier came over the radio suddenly.
"Yeah it's me. We had an attack at our camp and I had to go back to help. We made it out but one of us is badly injured, she's lost half of her arm. She really needs help."
"You have the coordinates from earlier, yes?"
"Yeah I wrote them down."
"Get here as soon as you can. We'll send a scout to meet you half way. His name is Jack. Tall white man with dark brown hair and green eyes, wearing an army uniform. He can lead back here safely. Over."
"Thank you. Over."
Switching the radio back off so she didn't waste what little battery they might have left in it, Kyleigh looked at the other women. "You both heard that, but I want to know what you think first. Should we risk it and go? Or wait here and see what happens?"
It felt as if something heavy was in the air, threatening to suffocate everyone. That walk to that hill had been silent, everyone still trying to process that the group had suddenly gotten smaller. Even though no one had said anything about what happened to the three missing people, it was clear as the day that everyone could sense it. Deaths were never graceful in this world. Rosita hadn't even seen Chaser unlike Pamela and Conrad who had been cornered by the undead, but given that he wasn't back now? Chances of survival were slim. With each day that went by, she was losing more and more hope.
She's never seen a hill that looked so gray and depressing. Sighting, she felt the urge to turn around and leave this godforsaken place upon hearing the sound of static. Everything seemed so pointless suddenly. Even the search for her family did. After hearing how everyone has lost theirs, why did she keep insisting on searching hers? It had cost Rosita and Conrad's lives. How selfish she had been. Shouldn't they have stayed back in their safely guarded building? Warren could have improved the place with his knowledge.
The feeling of relief didn't last long hearing the Sergeant's voice, it never lasted long. Rosita took the information given to them in stride. A single man?
"Their numbers must be dwindling," Rosita remarked. A whole military camp should have more than one scout to help a group of people!
"We've risked so much. We need to take this chance." Rosita insisted with that signature Espinosa stubbornness in her voice. "I've spent too much time waiting and hiding. It never got me anywhere. Remember how I told you when this shit broke out, the first thing I did was looking for my brother and my nephew? When I found out their apartment was empty.."
The woman turned her head away in shame, biting the inside of her cheek before she swallowed and went on, trying to keep her tone confident. "I gave up. I was a coward. I hid. I drove home, I barricaded my apartment, locked myself up. Pretended this shit I've seen outside wasn't happening. I.. fucking cried straight for a day or two. Then I slapped myself because I thought the tears would make me dehydrate. I wanted to leave, but I didn't. I kept myself locked up, running out of food. You wanna know why I made it? Because I was lucky. Not because I was brave. My military training instructor Dan found me."
She wanted to huff, knowing she had shared too much. It felt ridiculous, really. Kyleigh hasn't even asked! Glancing towards the others, she was relieved to see most had been out of earshot, but Warren.. well, know he knew a fair share about her, too.
"I was counting on the military finding me and taking me to the same camp I prayed they took Luz and Thiago to. Well, I was found, but Dan was the last of his unit standing because the others didn't make it. I could have spent all that time searching for my family. I could've helped Dan's people who were dying less than a mile from where I was hiding. But I didn't, because I was a pussy. Let's go."
The scenario had unfolded in front of Rosita's eyes at such a rapid pace that it seemed surreal. While she could barely process what had happened, the reality of the situation had sunk in within an instant: Everything she just witnessed was very much real, and still ongoing. The flicker of relief she felt at seeing that Kyleigh was alive and unharmed was replaced by a surge of adrenaline and anguish when she took in the chaos surrounding them. Conrad had been quick enough to take out one of the dead ones approaching Pamela, the body left to rot in the floor with its skull smashed into a mess of blood and brain tissue.
The moment Rosita faced the tough woman, she was driving her knife through the base of the skull of her next opponent, while Conrad was being kept busy dealing with one of them himself.
Her attempts to rush towards them when two more undead approached the duo of survivors was met in discord. "They ran in that direction!" Pamela pointed to an alley. With all this mess, Rosita had not even registered that she hadn't realized in which direction the rest of the group had gone! A part of her felt betrayed and abandoned, but she understood their reasoning. They needed to keep Ruth out of that crowd of undead.
"Go after them, Warren isn't gonna be able to keep the dead ones off Ruth, Gordon and Irina!" Pamela shouted. And she was right. Warren being the only defense was one hell of a flaw in their strategy. If he went down or something happened, the rest of the team would be screwed too. Or they would be forced to abandon Ruth.
But she also hated the idea of letting Conrad and Pamela go up against the approaching mass of undead when they were outnumbered.
"Go! Both of you! It's too many."
The moment Rosita had opened her mouth to argue, a new pack of undead had emerged into sight. Shit! No way Pamela and Conrad could take on that many.
The chances of Rosita and Kyleigh being able to fend them off would be slim.
"Run, where I showed you! Now!" The Cuban brunette demanded. "You still have family. We don't!"
Glancing at Kyleigh, she gave her a nod just before sprinting into the alley. It didn't take much running to spot Ruth and the others. Carrying a sick person in bed definitely slowed you down. "One of us needs to help with the bed!" Rosita insisted. Irina clearly wasn't able to keep this up anymore.
Not even three seconds on her feet and she was face to face with even more of the dead. Kyleigh's brain was beginning to pound with how loud their growls seemed, her lungs burning after inhaling their stench so close up. But still she pushed herself to fight on, stabbing one in the base of the skull before doing the same with the one next to it. They seemed to be coming in waves now, everyone fighting as hard as they could to control the mess. It was a losing battle, but at least the team carrying Ruth had made it out safely.
The small victory was only a moment long before Pamela was instructing herself and Rosita to leave her behind, all of them knowing that she wouldn't make it out alive. And for the first time since this all started the half lycan felt herself hesitating. The woman was strong, so was Conrad, but without help they weren't going to last much longer. And as much as Kyleigh wanted to argue with the older woman she knew deep down Pamela had a point. It would be better for them to go help the others. Even with his new found confidence in taking out the dead Warren couldn't do it by himself and God only knew how many of them were out in that alley.

Conrad and Pamela had already decided their own fates, and nothing was going to change their minds about it. Letting out a sigh Kyleigh ran after her friend, hoping that they were making the right decision.

Kyleigh knew it wasn't going to be long before someone wanted to know what happened to Conrad and Pamela, but she hoped they would be smart enough to figure it out on their own.
"Where the hell are we supposed to go now?" One of the men in front of her asked.
"Head up to the hill where I was earlier. It's clear there and we can all rest for a little while. I have directions to the camp I got in contact with, we can go over them there. Someone check Ruth and make sure she's still with us."
The same man that asked the question reached out with his free hand and pressed his fingers to Ruth's neck. Before he could say anything she let out a soft groan and let them all know that she was still alive.
"Good. Try to keep her steady so we don't hurt her even more. If anyone else needs to switch out you make sure you say something. I want all of us arriving to that hill in one piece, no one needs to be a hero just yet."

"Maggie." The new woman in the group spoke, as if the words weighed heavy on her tongue. "We need to talk. Quickly." Rosita demanded with something that felt like both shame and desperate urgency.
"Eugene lied about the impeller, and he won't be able to keep the guard distracted for too long before he gets back." The Latina sighed. "He lied about a lot more, too. Bastard isn't a scientist, just really good at bullshitting people so they'll do what he can't. Keep him alive because he's too cowardly to even fire a weapon." The disdain was palpable in her voice as she went on, swallowing heavily. "I'm sorry. I should've known."
She looked at the ground, biting her lip before she straightened her shoulders, as if forcing the words out. "Not.. all of us made it back." She hated that she had to be the one to deliver the news. And in a situation like this where there was no space for Maggie's grieving. But as a mechanic, Rosita was the only one that could be here without raising too much suspicion, and she time was running out. Not that Rosita had ever considered herself any good with words.
"Beth is... she was alive," she assured quickly, almost breathlessly. Damnit, she had made it sound like she was dead! What a burro she was.
Well, "assured". It wasn't much of a way to reassure someone, since without any help, people died quickly out there. It also implied she wasn't there..
"Some people took her. We looked for her.. but we couldn't find her."

1. What’s your biggest insecurity?
Probably performance insecurity in my career. I'm very perfectionistic, and some of the experiences I've had in school didn't have a good influence on me.

Yes, but sometimes I feel like I'm stuck where I am. I know I'm not, but at the moment I don't know what to do with my life career wise, which sucks.

Well, I know not everyone can do math well, but I would say that's something I find more difficult than most.

Maybe organizing my stuff? It's not boring to me, though. Otherwise, I wouldn't enjoy it. But I know some people dislike those tasks.

I wanna travel as much as I can, and I have a list of places I'd like to visit. I also wanna get a Master's degree and a different job.

Most definitely not aromantic. I prefer women because it's easier to build an emotional connection to them and there are more women I find attractive physically as well, but it depends.

While she might not have professional medical training, Kyleigh knew a lot about basic first aid and saving a life thanks to her Uncle Tony. He had served in the Army at one point in his life, so he knew how to field dress wounds and since Kyleigh often wandered off into the woods as a child (not to mention how clumsy she was), he showed her a lot in order for her to be able to help herself in case no one else was around. That was how she knew they needed to cauterize Ruth's new stump in order to seal off the blood vessels and give her a fighting chance at life. But they couldn't do that in the chaos that was happening in that moment, not to mention the fact that they didn't have the right supplies. So moving her to a safer location until they could get to that camp was their best option.
Though she tried to hide it a growl escaped her as Pamela's voice once more rang out in the air. Did that woman never shut the hell up?! Yes they were all in a panic due to what was going on but she did not need to add it to. However, she did have a point. Kyleigh would be better at keeping them safe while they got out of the now infested building. She was fast and had multiple small weapons on her. And after what had happened with nearly losing Gordon, she could understand why he would want to be the one to help carry Ruth. So after she made sure that the makeshift tourniquet was tight she gave the man a nod and allowed him to take over her spot.

There was a brunette blur which Kyleigh realized was Rosita was fighting off a few of the dead not too far to the left of her, and she could hear the others that weren't carrying Ruth out doing the same. They were a bit faster and not as rotted, which led her to believe they had just recently turned. Although that information was useful Kyleigh couldn't think about it at the moment. Just as her gaze went from the dropped bodies in front of her to see that Pamela was about to ambushed, she felt a sharp tug at her side and before she could reach for a knife she was down on the ground.
This was the very first time she had been in this position with a dead one and it was going to haunt Kyleigh for the rest of her days. Sure she had been face to face with them, but with it's full weight on top of her she was struggling (to put it lightly). The milky film over its once colorful irises made her want to gag, not to mention the stench that was coming from its snapping jaws. Her arms were busy keeping the damn thing from taking a chunk out of her, so there was no way she could possibly get to any of her weapons. There was the urge to scream for help, but with so many of them already around the last thing she wanted was to attract even more. So in her mind this was it. This was how she was going to go out. Trying to help save a bunch of people who had literally been strangers just a few days ago.

Now that the first threat was over, or at least it seemed like it was, Kyleigh stepped back to take a few breaths. Her heart was still racing from the last few minutes, adrenaline pumping hard through every vein in her body. While she and the others had only gotten to know each other slightly over the last few days she felt like they had connected, and to know that they could possibly lose another one because they either hadn't gotten her arm cut off soon enough or she would die from the blood loss hit, her in a way she didn't expect. The half lycan had no real ties to any of them, they were just strangers she met while on her way trying to get back home. But those lingering human feelings had attached themselves to each one of them, even Pamela who had just interrupted a very crucial step in hopefully reuniting some of them with their families.
She was pretty sure Rosita was not going to be happy at all that any of this had happened, but Kyleigh had been smart enough to write down everything she could and that little notebook was being guarded with her life. There was no way they had gone through all of this bullshit just for them to end up back at square one. There was also the worry that something could happen to the other brunette while on her way back to the building. She had been trying to lure a big ass horde away, what if it had gone wrong? What if the silence coming from the radio wasn't a good sign? Shaking her head Kyleigh refused to allow herself to think such things. Rosita was just fine out there, she would radio them back at any moment, ready to dose out some well deserved verbal assaults.
Finally she heard the woman's voice and despite the situation, she had to chuckle when Rosita did give Pamela a piece of her mind. While she was making sure that Gordon was alright and they were moving the dead bodies out of the way she heard Warren explain their situation to Rosita and it came of no surprise that it was time for the remaining living people to get out of that building. It had served its purpose for how long it could have. Moving on the road with a larger group could be trouble, but it was a risk they were going to have to take. This camp could prove to be the best thing to happen to them and perhaps they could get Ruth some real help.
As soon as the others finally came back, bloody but unharmed, Kyleigh felt like she could let out the breath she had been holding. Ruth was going in and out of consciousness, but so far she didn't have a fever and the wound on her arm was no longer gushing fresh blood. She knew that woman wasn't out of the woods yet, but now that there were more people here to help she might have a fighting chance of making it to that camp. Allowing the others to keep watch over the door Kyleigh helped to lay Ruth down, using an old sheet folded over a few times to rest her head on.
"She's been in and out for a little bit. We should really see if we can burn the wound. That will seal up all the vessels and stop the bleeding."
It would also hurt like hell, but it would give Ruth the best chance. That would have to wait until they got to a safer location, if they could find one. Remembering that she had grabbed a few things from the pharmacy they went to the other day Kyleigh pulled some rubber tubing out of her bag and a spare shirt she had.
"It's not much, but it will hold until we can get somewhere safer." Wrapping the shirt as tightly as she could around the stump of Ruth's arm she told Irina to hold it in place while she tied the tubing in a double knot around it. Ruth let out a sharp groan, letting her know she still had feeling there.
"We gotta get a move on!" Pamela called from her position holding back the door with the others.
Kyleigh's eyes went from Ruth to Rosita. "She's right. That won't hold much longer. Let's get the fuck out of here."
Eyes widened at the mention of cauterization. Not Rosita's, her face had a pondering expression, but the others seemed more averse to the possibility.
She got where Kyleigh was coming from -- the bleeding was incredibly severe. Since Ruth had already gone through the pain of having her arm cut off in an attempt to save her life from the bite, dying in vain due to blood loss would be brutal. And she would still turn. Anyone whose brain wasn't destroyed did.
Not that there was time to discuss the matter. Not until they got out. And Pamela did good reminding them. Although, a part of her wanted to slap her across the face for her attitude.
"Kyleigh, you're one of our most capable fighters. You should defend us." She pointed out. No offense towards the woman, but petite as she was, she wasn't exactly the top choice to carry a bed, and her talents would be wasted if she didn't ward off the undead. Before Rosita could even mention Gordon, the man had already moved forward to help Irina with the bed, telling Rosita to help the others keeping the dead at bay.
Thank God Kyleigh had saved the man. He thought ahead, and he was strong. Carrying a person wasn't exactly easy if you had to go fast.
"We'll cover them." She didn't even need to tell the team to position themselves so they could fight off the dead from any side. Although this was still suicidal. They weren't working according to the plan, and it's not like they'd scouted the area, so any direction could be a dead end. Literally.
As they ran out of the side entrance, Rosita moved to place a kick to the nearest undead's stomach, as aggressive as it had never been before. Her heart was racing so fast she could swear the sounds of the undead growling had become duller, as if submerged underwater yet uncomfortably sharp. With sweat dropping from her forehead, she moved her knife to plunge it to the base of its skull. Something hit the floor with a click as the creature's nails dug into her denim jacket, an immense force pulling her towards it and making her lose her balance as she tried to fight it. Damn, why was that thing so fast? Recently turned, then. That was the moment where she realized she had lost the knife, the handle having gotten slippery from all that sweat on her hands. Then blood splashed on her shirt.
Conrad. His face twisted in an expression of fury as his hammer met the dead one's skull. Rolling to the side to get out of the way, Rosita quickly rose to her feet, only to catch sight of the new problem.
Pamela. Three coming towards her. Not awfully close. Not yet. But things looked rough.

The brunette was quick to run towards Kyleigh, not even bothering to get that knife when she had the machete. Wiping her hands on her jacket to get the sweat off, she took a powerful swing to cut off the arm that was holding to Kyleigh. She was left with a revolting ache filling her stomach as she began to wonder if the decision had been right, all within less than a second. Should she have gone for the head? But what if she hadn't managed to cut it off?

Rosita loves glow in the dark stars for her wall. She picked some up for Coco's bedroom, but she also has some for her own.
Her spice tolerance is amazing. And she gets no side effects from spicy stuff. There's not much sweet stuff any more, so she replaces it through spice and will gladly eat the cans with the spicy stuff, so the others won't have to.
While she doesn't understand all the lyrics of Brazilian sertaneja music, she grasps most of it and listens to it.

As far as the fandom goes? Too many. My biggest unpopular opinion (which everyone who knows me a bit knows lol) is that Negan should have died a long time ago, and dragging his arc out had been a mistake. He was also creepy around kids.

I just started the second Outlander book and I loved it so far!

Pork, beef (I'm a vegetarian and I find that kind of meat particularly awful), coke, most sodas, most cheese, milk (lactose-intolerant).

If I were told I'd die tomorrow I'd sure be scared. In general I don't worry about death though, but I do wish life were longer.

I wish I could talk to my grandma one last time. She died and I wasn't even on the same continent.

101. What’s been going through your mind lately?
I've been thinking about some TWD AUs and I'm working on posts.
Sergeant Kennedy. The name was instantly burned into Kyleigh's memory, the smile on her face huge. She hadn't expected to get anything back, just happy to put their message out there. But to hear a real voice on the other end respond and tell her information that was valuable; there were just no words to express how that felt. Grabbing the small pad of paper from her bag along with her pen she wrote down every word, already trying to plot out a route that they could take in a safe way. Well as safely as possible, anything could happen with all the dead out there. "We have general knowledge of the area, but anything you could tell us would be useful. If we're going to risk putting our asses out there to get to you we want to make sure we get there in one piece."
Kyleigh was able to hear that second shot Rosita let off, figuring that another group of the dead had turned the wrong way. Damn she really couldn't believe this was working as well as it was! By night fall they could be getting things ready to make the trip to this camp and potentially be working on contacing other ones in the hopes of reconnecting with their loved ones!
And of course just as she was allowing herself some good thoughts for once reality had to come crashing in. Pamela's voice broke off her conversation with the Sergeant, her features immediately twisting into a frown. Damnit not even a fucking hello! The desperation in Pamela's voice let the half lycan know that now was not the time to argue with the woman, Kyleigh getting to her feet and shoving whatever she had out back into her bag. "Alright we're on our way now!"
Forgetting the Sergeant and other camp for the moment, Kyleigh was quick to get Warren up and headed back towards the building. She did radio the others while they were on their way, telling them all to get back as soon as they could. Her and Warren were the closest as far as she knew and he had an axe with him. She wasn't so sure what they were going to do with Ruth, but if it needed that weapon it wasn't going to be pretty.
As the two entered the back entrance of the building Kyleigh could already hear the growls from the dead and she sighed. How in the hell had they gotten in there and up to where the others were? That question could be answered later. Right now they had to get rid of them and do whatever they needed to help save Ruth.
"Warren, go help them with Ruth! I'm gonna go for Gordon!" She called over her shoulder as they reached the safe floor. The stench of the rotten ones and all the yelling assaulted her senses immediately, but she shoved it all out of her mind and sprang into action.
From the corner of her eye she saw Warren run over to Pamela and a couple of the others who were all around Ruth. One of them had taken their belt off and tied it around her upper arm, blood pouring from a bite wound a few inches below her elbow. It hit Kyleigh then what they were going to do and she was so happy she chose to help Gordon instead. The man was doing his best to get the dead that were right in front of him, but more were piling up behind them. Grabbing both of her knives from her belt the half lycan began to take those ones down, yanking them back far enough so she could get them to her level and finishing them off. By the time both she and Gordon had killed all of them they were both breathing heavy and covered in blood splatter.
"Thank you Kyleigh, I was afraid-"
Before he could finish Ruth let out a muffled scream, causing them both to glance her way. Pamela had taken Warren's axe and used it to take off Ruth's arm right below the belt, Warren immediately placing an old shirt around the wound. If she didn't die from the blood loss she might survive if an infection didn't sit in. She cried a few more times before passing out from the pain, her body going limp against the wall.
"We gotta get to that camp now." Kyleigh muttered to herself, turning around when she heard feet running up the stairs.
It had been Pamela herself who had explained to Rosita what was going on. Connecting to her as soon as Kyleigh confirmed she was on her way. Damn, that change of plans was one tough pill to swallow. Especially since Pamela had no clue whether Kyleigh had already figured out where the camp was located or not. Since she hasn't bothered to ask Kyleigh.
Damnit, why couldn't that woman have asked Kyleigh beforehand? Maybe let her finish talking to whoever was on the radio before she went, in case she hadn't? Of course, Ruth's and Gordon's lives mattered. But her family was probably located in that camp, and a military camp would have more weapons and defensible positions than they had available at that building. It was bigger than the lives of two people, as harsh and ugly as that reality was. Cutting off someone's arm was incredibly dangerous, as it would likely kill you, either from the blood loss or by infection, and who knew whether it would work? Rosita doubted it would.
She hated that the other woman had ignored the chain of command they had discussed. The fact that she should have discussed this decision with Rosita beforehand.
Espinosa hoped Kyleigh had gotten all the information before she went. And she hoped they hadn't sacrificed Ruth's arm for nothing. The pain she must have been through.. Dios!
The exchange between the two women wasn't pretty, Rosita not holding back the venom, although she kept it brief since there was no time to argue. Neither of them spoke to Kyleigh's walkie-talkie knowing she would be too busy to respond, and the static noise could just lure in the undead. All they could do now was hoping Kyleigh would make it out alive and inform them of the current status.
When the horde had reached their designated point - far away enough that it shouldn't be too much of an issue even if they turned back - Rosita was beginning to worry about Kyleigh. That's when Warren called her, explaining the situation.
She exhaled deeply, hearing Ruth was still alive, and so was everyone else. For now. "Tell them we'll get your asses out." Rosita spoke through the walkie-talkie, sounding more angry than she should. She wasn't pissed at Warren or Kyleigh. Her anger was directed at Pamela.. and the unfairness of life always taking unexpected turns.
When the rest of the team came back, having snuck through an alternative entrance, most of them were covered in blood, armed to the teeth - machetes, knives, firearms. Expressions shaken as they saw Ruth's limp body. Only Rosita and Irina had been carrying a first aid cot with a blanket and a med-kit, having been defended by the others while vulnerable.
"Get her on that bed, put on a proper pressure bandage and get her out of here before the dead get in!" Rosita ordered, seeing that she only had makeshift bandages. Lowering the bed to the floor, she opened the med-kit to get the bandages, while the others either helped to carry Ruth or stood defense at the door in the back slowly succumbing to the pressure of the dead.
