Can I talk about this scene?

While it comes at the end, It was actually the first one I wrote. It was originally an epic Julia Sugarbaker-type monologue where Paige goes in deep on all the ways white queer culture excludes and hurts trans women. Everyone told me it was way too long and had to be cut down. We struggled a long time with how to do that. One night Laura & I were talking with Sydney and someone (I can’t remember who now), said, “What if went the opposite way and had her barely speak at all?” Laura and I started re-writing on the spot, imagining Angelica carrying the scene with just her looks, allowing the Lisa character to talk herself into a hole until Paige delivers just the core message of the monologue.

And that core message is what I love about the final version.

Paige is not engaging in a debate about the reality of trans women, or the arguments of some lesbians who feel they don’t belong. She recognizes that Lisa, and people like her, have decided that trans women aren’t women, but she doesn’t care.

ALL she cares is about is the safety of trans women. That’s the focus of her work, that’s her motivation, that’s the only reason she goes to the cafe to confront Lisa.

Paige has had a lifetime of being told what her body means, where she belongs, and has overcome all of it. She’s beyond people like Lisa. She’s fighting for the safety of other girls like her, and make no mistake, she will win.

I just really fucking love Paige.

I still intend to continue writing RR, no worries there.  :)  It just takes me a while for all the usual reasons (work, training, other writing (mostly TWR these days, which is an original work using some of the original concepts in RR (including characters) plus a bunch of new elements.  It doesn’t replace RR, but the tone is very similar so it takes up a similar space in my brain, if you know what I mean!).  

I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed the story so far!

I just finished your latest chapter and I seriously had book hangover. And I think I cried because I wanted to see how it continues. I literally want to warp into your version of Hyrule amd give everyone a big hug. Well, maybe not Nabooru or Neesha because Gerudo but everyone else because they seriously need hugs. LINK AND ZELDA NEED TO TIE THE FRICKING KNOT ALREADY! *flail*

I have the next chapter plotted out, I just need to write it!  :)  I’m excited for it, there’s a lot currently planned to happen in it that I want to reveal, but it’ll be a while yet - my schedule’s a bit full right now!

Just so everyone knows, CNN this morning DELETED their post-debate poll that showed Bernie Sanders winning the debates (81% in support of Sanders to Clinton’s 14%). Afterwards, it posted a series of articles stating that Clinton clearly won the debate and that framed Sanders as “just appealing to Sanders fans”. CNN is in no way a legitimate news outlet, it is as much propaganda as Fox News. Be aware of this fact and stay woke.

At what point does one reach a maximum number of mistakes and bad choices before her life becomes beyond repair? I'm nearing that point. I etched a semicolon on my leg as a promise never to try and take my life ever again. But it's a promise I don't think I can keep. It isn't dysphoria that's killing me. It's the fact that I ruined my life. No one to blame but me. I'm glad he told me he wasn't interested in me romantically; I'm such a wreck of a human being that really shouldn't be spreading her toxicity on anyone. I'm a disease. Everywhere I go, disaster follows. I see terrible things that come true that I have no way of preventing. Someone just kill me already. I don't deserve the gift of life.
