sorry i gotta continue on the liamgirl lovefest trian for a second and just talk about how surreal it is that he was able to get his voice back to the quality it is now after decades of vocal abuse and damage. like even just being able to put aside his ego enough to take vocal lessons and get some foundation of technique under him (which he clearly has been doing) is just so significant and is something that i never would have imagined a year ago. not to mention the degree of vocal deterioration that happened in the late 2000s like....a large part was definitely because of his lifestyle which obviously he's scaled back on as well but once you get into bad vocal habits of pushing and yelling your way through a set it is VERY difficult to fix and to hear how much of an improvement he's had in less than a year's time is so so SO impressive. there are so many tragic stories of famous singers losing their voices (part of the reason why i frequently compare him to maria callas lmao) but it is incredibly rare to see a singer go through losing their voice and then later get it back to the degree that he has. king of manifestation he is truly spiritually connected and protected lol

for liam, aside from all the sublime emotions, i suspect there was also a substantial amount of ‘oh my fucking god, it worked’ floating around in there bc there is nooooooo way that all the developments with patsy that week weren’t a desperate bid to get noel’s jealous attention. not only did liam finally one-up him in the mind games arena, he caused an all out structural collapse. brother dick delirium finally took noel out and had him acting uncharacteristically unwise. never in a million years could liam have anticipated an outcome that raw and shocking and epic in scale (literally and emotionally). there is no doubt in my mind that loch lomond was one of the defining moments for liam’s belief that he is the universe’s most special and belov’ed child

Liam has constantly gone back to what is essentially the soul mate argument, both in speech and in his music, absolutely certain that their bond is eternal and that they will go on and on forever from this life into the next and that returning to a united state will always be inevitable. and the thing about that type of thinking is, i don't know if you can arrive at it on your own. even beyond the words Noel wrote in his music i think Noel must have directly expressed the idea of them sharing a soul and being 'two of a kind' many times throughout their life together. and to look back at the past 15 years of Liam twitter psychosis is to remember the old Bluth adage: 'never promise crazy a baby.' or in this case, Noel, dear man who has truly done this to himself, never promise the obsessive younger brother who imprinted on you in every way conceivable like a love-crazed & horny duckling that the soul you both inhabit together is going to live forever

when i read about noel and liam's relationship, something strikes me: nobody seems to fully understand it (maybe not even themselves).

their pre-oasis relationship and lives in general are probably the most nebulous part of it. it's very hard to tell how they went from normal brothers to allofthat. and they've said some things that make me think there's some very dark undisclosed trauma there.

their other brother's book is interesting because it's very revealing of the family dynamics, but when it comes to noel and liam's relationship there's this blind spot. in fact he barely talks about it in the book.

and the truth of their relationship seems to be constantly shifting based on its status. they're getting along? oh they always hanged out together. not getting along? oh they never hanged out together anyway.

their fights/acrimony are both very real and both very exaggerated, so it's hard to tell what's going on sometimes, especially in the estrangement period.

what is evident is that their relationship is deeply odd, mercurial, and informed by trauma, and that they're the loves of each other's lives, in whatever sense.

yes! it’s called an anterior open bite. liam’s case is mild but you can tell based on the shape of his upper jaw and the way that his front teeth are slanted outwards. (pictured is a more severe case just to show an example)
