Gem : Before starting Beady Eye we have listed all the things that didn't work anymore with Oasis. Without trying to hide the truth from us. And what was wrong were the way too long tours, always going to the same hotels and same stadium/venues. Slowly bur surely these things make you lose your flame a musician. Your actions become automatic. You can't build a career in the rock industry if you're only releasing an album every 3 years and if you're always going to the same venues. Even if we're not 20 anymore, rock'n'roll still is something exciting, something dangerous, something that you do with your friends. I think that this Beady Eye album has taught us the basics again : simple rock songs, urgency and modesty.

Andy : The starting point was not to make the same mistakes we'd done at the end of Oasis. Money and success aren't the central interest with Beady Eye. I think we'd rather play in smaller venues from now on. Though Liam insisted that we have a say on everything, the album artwork, the music videos, the touring plans. He wanted to re-instore a democracy long gone.

Liam : I don't want that the people playing with me feel frustrated in any ways. Oasis was mainly about me and Noel. Beady Eye is a collective. A hippy thing if you want. If tomorrow, one of the band member comes to me and says 'Liam? I'd like to wear some fucking black sunglasses in our new video', I'd tell him, 'Alright mate, no problem, do what you want. You've as many rights as me'. It's not a democracy, it's an organised anarchy, you know what I mean ? I believe in organised anarchy. The chaos.

Oasis bad boy Liam Gallagher has had an emotional reunion with brother Noel - thanks to his new baby. The two had been barely speaking to each other after a bust-up earlier this year. Liam's baby son Lennon was born a month ago - but neither Uncle Noel nor wife Meg had even been to see him. Until last week that is. Liam, 26, has been left 'angry and hurt' by his big brother's astonishing snub.

The wild singer first clashed with Noel, 31, while they worked on songs for the new Oasis album in a New York recording studio just days after Lennon was born. Guitarist Noel had insisted that Liam tear himself away from Patsy, 31, and their newborn baby to go to the States. Liam flew back from America last weekend and rushed to be with his wife and first child.

A source close to Liam told Sunday People: "Liam couldn't believe the way Noel had behaved over the birth of Lennon. It was one of the biggest if not the biggest day in his entire life. Noel's absence for nearly three weeks after the birth had soured his relationship with Liam to an all-time low. But it's all sorted out now. They've made up and they are now getting on better than ever.”

Noel sat watching football. We—Phil, Liam, Terry, Steve, and others—chatted, drank beer in my small room. But things were brewing. Noel kept glancing at Liam. Finally, he had to let it out.

Noel: I'm sorry, but it's wrong to leather a fan. [Referring to Liam headbutting a 19-year-old boy in Brisbane, Australia and getting charged with assault.]

Liam: He wasn't a fan. Fuck he was. I was in the right and if I have to go down for it then I'll do it because I was right.

Noel: Oh, you were right, whacking someone? That's right, is it?

Liam: Yes, because he asked for it. And all I want is a fair trial and I don't think I'm going to get it.

Noel: So you're going to carry on whacking people?

Liam: Songwriting.

Liam: No, dickhead. We're talking about your songwriting and the fact that you'll be hammering away at it in the future.

Noel: I'll tell you what I'm going to do. What I'm going to do is make enough money so that I—we—never have to work again. Do you know what I'm going to do then? I'm going to get fat. I'm going to sit at home and watch TV and get enormous.

Liam: Yeah, but you'll still be writing songs.

Noel: Will I? How do you know?
