in terms of a wishlist for the documentary, right at the top of the "want it very badly and think we might actually get it" column is the moment backstage that first night in cardiff: they're standing there about to go on, and the din of the crowd over fuckin' in the bushes is almost a physical force pushing at their bodies. noel is staring ahead looking sick, and probably up to that point in the film he has talked with his usual bravado but in a flash we understand just how much this means to him and how, after years of withholding and anticipation, he is terrified that actually, he is not going to be good enough. liam leans over to say something in his ear -- we'll never know what -- but noel just nods sort of absently. the cue to enter arrives, and they step forward with liam's arm impulsively thrown around noel's shoulders. and i don't know how many camera angles they realistically will have but then again, it's literally their first gig in over 15 years, so let's hope pray and believe that we'll see that classic 0-to-60-in-a-second idea crosses liam's face right before he reaches down and grabs noel's wrist to hoist it aloft like a prizefight champion and that we'll see this moment in full living color and high definition so we can study every last centimeter of noel's overwhelmed face
anyway, I think we might get that
