" Ah Mr.Phillips!" is it strange to think she might actually be delighted to see the man?
" It's been ages since I saw you! Are you in need of a room? "
❛ Oh, I do love favours. ❜ A flicker of lashes, ‘fore claim to delicacy is forfeited for strength, hooking under the the ‘dozing’ man’s arms and hoisting him up enough for an easy drag. She’s not sure if he’s dead or unconscious. Frankly, she doesn’t care. He’s out of the way, and that’s all that matters. She permits another once over of the other woman, leaving her with a wink as she starts pulling the body toward’s the door.
❛ You smell worse than a rottin’ bighorner, handsome. ❜ Sand’s unsettled under the body and her steps, clouding around until she discards him ‘round the side until later. ‘ Do us all a favour and clean up once you get up. If you’re still in there. ‘ Hands clapped clean, purposeful sway in her step when she reenters. ❛ Back to more important things. You, namely, dove. ❜
She's amazed by the strength of the woman as she lifts the man out of the motel. When she's dragged men ( dead or alive ) she's always found a bit of an issue due to the lack of upper strength but the woman before her did it with such ease. Though that does strike a worry in her hoping the man isn't dead ( that would create quite the mess, people aren't usually attracted to places where a dead man sits in his truck ), she's got a business to run after all. When the woman enters she moves a bit closer.
She does give a bit of a blush at her words and actions, she never knew that she'd find her heart a flutter at being called dove but she does. She gives another giggle in an attempt to hide it.
" Like favours do you? Well I don't have much to offer but I could allow you to stay in one of our rooms for free as long as you wish, room service and all for free --- I know it's not much but at least it gives you a warm bed! "
“ You mean these? ” For a moment she even forgets that she’s ( still ) wearing them —- but her memory quickly jogs. “ They’re sort of … vintage. ” As in: I might have popped into the Victoria and Albert Museum and nicked them out of The History of Heels exhibit. “ You want to try them on? ”
" Oh vintage? I love vintage! But try them on? Oh I'm not sure they are your shoes and I like them so much I might nick them from you by mistake! " she gives another laugh and stares even more at the shoes and she wonders to herself if she'd actually steal them they were exquisite after all.
"Darn I do wish you had rememered the store that'd be fantastic.
@porticosdaughter
" Oh! Your shoes are an absolute delight dear! You have to tell me where you got them! "
❛ Ain’t they all, though? ❜ It’d been far from graceful, knuckles scraped of flesh to reveal an angry red, weaving ‘tween the grooves of her skin as hand is rotated, inspected. Far from graceful, but how could she leave such a pretty little thing to her own?
❛ Dime a dozen, these jokes. You want me to drag him on outside, dove? ❜
Strong , beautiful, and kind which any person should be really. Lessons that man should have learned before he came in and not only verbally attacked her but then tried to make a grab for her. Elisse keeps the smile pushing curled locks of golden threads behind her ear as she removes her self from the counter to be next to the woman.
" Dime a dozen indeed, but at least jokes have the guarantee of being funny. If you could drag him out I'd be ever in your favour miss. "
@partiicled
" I'm sorry your face looks --- oddly familiar have I seen you somewhere prior? "
‘ I don’t understand why you needed me to come with you just for a vase. ’
She’d been under the impression that it was more important than that. She stands there, hands in pockets, frowning, and obviously waiting for a decent explanation as to her presence having been required.
"Well I couldn't show up to such an auction alone it's not proper to attend these things without a plus one. And well most of my other friends were busy so I came across you. Besides I get to see you all fancied up and have your protection in case things go south! " which knowing the kind of individuals at this event that's not too extreme to think that would happen.
‘ Wow. That is amazing. ’
Wow, he doesn’t care. Joan of Arc only ever interests him in art, not when it’s crusty old armour that’s probably a knock-off anyway. Still, he’s good at pretending he cares, at least for the most part. He doesn’t let the boredom he’s already beginning to feel show on his face, in his eyes.
‘ I bet that cost you some serious cash. Unless you are telling me that you stole it. ’
" Isn't it? " she's usually good at catching other people's bull. But when it comes to things like this she's not only a mess but is practically unable to tell when she's boring another. But who could blame her, recentlly she's been hanging around folks who would die for these sort of things. Recentlly she's become one.
" Yes indeed some 'serious cash' " quick pause as she leans in a bit closer, " but humour me on this will you? How would you feel if I did steal it? "
wassermander:
‘ Stop trying to smooth talk me, ’ she says. ‘ It’s annoying. And it’s not working. ’
However, it is a valiant effort. She’s just picked the wrong woman to try her skills out on, is all. When Elise has a job to do, she gets it done, and she doesn’t let pretty words from pretty women distract her in the slightest. Still, Elise gives her name and all of the other appropriate information, because she isn’t doing anything wrong.
It doesn’t take long for her to search through the bag, and there’s a frown upon her features by the time she’s finished. You don’t see a lot of people carrying around what look to be historical artefacts in their handbags.
‘ What are these? Why do you have them? ’
" Oh those! I had completly forgotten those were in there! Thank you ever so much! I had bought them from a store back in Egypt little cheap things you know? Something for the motel. "
" Your name is Elise? My name is Elisse! Oh my goodness what a coincidence! " she is actualy taken back from that. She's wandered many parts of the Earth but has rarely met another soul with a name like hers. It was almost uncanny.
" But don't worry officer those things just small things, wanted to liven up the lobby is all. " small things she atually got from an actual tomb of course. An uncharted tomb she had no place in being but no need for the officer to know!
surovost:
‘ You can tell me anything you want. ’
Don’t get him wrong– Vasiliy isn’t interested in the armour or any of its little secrets. He’s bored and has to occupy himself until later tonight, and nowhere he’s interested in is anywhere near open right now. He’d been about to tell her to leave him alone until he turned to look at her, saw her face. She looks like exactly the kind of distraction he wants to get involved with.
‘ I am all ears. ’
" Joan of Arc. This is Joan of Arc's armor! "
She can't help but contain her giggle and downright amazement as she takes another glance toward the armor. Placing a hand against the helmet of it, just as shiny as when she first had it cleaned. She gives a sigh of pleasure.
" I found it at an auction and I managed to snatch it! " which is completly wrong, she did snatch it from someone just --- well not at an auction. More so at a ruined house at gunpoint. But specifics!
Elise doesn’t say anything, but she nods her head. Party, auction ( she can tell the difference, by the way ) – it doesn’t make much of a difference to her. She doesn’t like it. ‘ Which lot are you waiting for? ’
Well at least the other seems partially on board. That's as much as Elisse can ask for. She rubs the space between the fingers of her gloved hands.
" It's this lovely little 4th Century B.C Greek artefact. You know the Greeks adored their pottery. "
@platiinvm
She's got a smile like sugar and she lets out a sigh of relief. The woman had saved her from a sleazy drunk in her own motel and for that she was ever so grateful.
" Thank you for that sweetheart! Why that man was just an absolute bother! "
@gcldenbonedliked this.
‘ I’m not… very good with parties. I don’t like them. The music, the crowds– ’
" Oh! Well don't worry dear this is more of a --- event than a party, an auction. Less music and more talking really. I do still appreciate you coming along with me. "
