Cherry Blossoms interactive installation by NYC industrial design firm Antenna. Music and the cherry blossom visualization is driven by the number of people walking up or down the stairs.

Fascinating design intervention by artist Eve Mosher who visualizes the effects of climate change in American cities in her project HIGHWATERLINE. The white chalk line indicates where in a city the water line is expected to rise to as a result of climate change.

Okay, not sure you could call this a “design” intervention, but it does employ the principles Katherine described in her lecture, mainly that the message is made at the point of user contact and interaction.
