I hate when an artist gets exposed for being a bad person and people start the narrative âwhy would you even want to listen to their shitty musicâ when are we going to be freed from the idea that only good people create good art and bad people create bad art. It just makes it harder for these types of people to be exposed because now you got people thinking âhow is this possible, his music is so good!â
more controversial (for tumblr at least) addition to this - the argument that âpeople should have known based on the subject matter of the songsâ is also extremely unhelpful. Songs can be fictional and cathartic depictions of bad emotions or thoughts and I donât think they should be used as evidence that someone is bad. If that subject matter makes you uncomfortable especially given hindsight thatâs one thing, but I donât think that should be confused with âevidenceâ or a sign âpeople should have knownâ. I think this line of thinking just ensures artists are going to make much more boring music
Freak.
finding real genuine, easy-going, good hearted people is difficult. good energy is a rare gift. if it ever comes your way, or if you hold it. guard it with everything you know how to. thereâs a whole world trying to destroy what is unique to you.
