....why the fuck was I a DCEU fan?
....HOLY FUCK. That was good. And genuinely beautiful towards the end....that's all I'm gonna say for maybe right now.
I just saw it again today. Yeah, I still loved it.
unpopular opinion? i think for mw4 they should just move all of the og mw2 maps along with maps they made for mwiii to the mw4 mp.
If that does happen, I would just be playing a South Korean based version of "Skidrow" and "Highrise" probably.....
Granted, I'm all for seeing new maps mostly. Especially recently with some COD's, the map design can be weird sometimes. There are still good ones. But sometimes there's always going to be a map remake. I keep thinking about while I genuinely liked the maps. The maps in Black Ops 6 followed the same kind of design like, "Small but chaotic" or something they've talked about. Stuff that was in the similar vein as Nuketown and others.
so the call of duty movie is actually happening and from what I read it seems promising 🫰
So, this is from April. I can confirm that recently that it takes place within the rebooted Modern Warfare timeline. With recent confirmations that Price, Gaz, Ghost, Soap, Laswell and Shepherd would be invovled.
To be honest, I was strangely hoping it would be in it's own timeline. But hey, if they wanna make a story that's set between MW 2019 and the later entries, alright. It's gonna be weird trying to keep to the canon of the games.
....HOLY FUCK. That was good. And genuinely beautiful towards the end....that's all I'm gonna say for maybe right now.
The Odyssey
I saw The Odyssey with my dad and step grandpa today.
In the words of Ryan Coogler himself as a friend of mine used a meme to describe this film. "Holy fucking shit, this movie." And I mean that IN A GOOD WAY. That was REALLY good. Granted, Nolan usually delivers. Yet him tackling this type of film was pretty great. Probably one of my favorites from him.
Also, considering the fact Nolan has talked about it. Even before he made this film. He said he wants to make a horror film. And considering certain scenes in this film. When I was watching this, I was legit thinking, "Fuck yeah, I wanna see a Christopher Nolan horror film".
Something I wanna say about Black Ops 6 and its story
I just sent this to someone. I thought about this last week, but never wrote it. Spoilers in case. More so the fact I do like the story of Black Ops 6, but I felt they did something wrong and that was well...let me explain.
I legit think if Marshall was the main character in Black Ops 6 instead of Case. Then I feel the story would've been much stronger. And that's because of the fact when we see Marshall with Jane, there's a legit friendship. His interactions with other characters helps out his development and all that. Hell, if they still wanted to keep the, "Super soldier" aspect. They could've done some crazy angle that Marshall learned he was part of that but they erased his memory of it (And he's ABLE TO SPEAK ABOUT IT), and the reveal of Jane being the main villain would've been more stronger because we've been playing as Marshall throughout the entire game. And him having to kill Jane at the end would make the story tragic in a sense that he'd have to kill his best friend. But not in an helicopter crash. He sympathizes with Jane but knows she can't do what she's going to do.
Like….they had a character that could've been perfect for that. But they instead focus on a character with no personality, who's just a self insert for the player. And they never focus on Case again.
Granted, some parts of the game would have to be rewritten if Case was taken out. They could've used some of the Rogue Black Ops operators like Payne, Westpoint or even Nazir. And….I genuinely like Black Ops 6's story for the most part. But that one aspect BOTHERS ME. They had gold right there but…didn't go with that.
(Also, I'd rather have them go with the idea that Alder DID kill Jane's parents. But the reason he did was her parents were likely involved with some bad shit. But Jane didn't know that. And just have Alder die because he's never coming back after that)
Edit update, I'd like to reveal Marshall was my favorite of the new characters in Black Ops 6. And he's one of my favorites to play as in the game. This was something that really got me thinking because I'd rather have this story then the one we got.
Also, they should've given Marshall more sick mil sim skins using some of the ones he had in the story. And his "Sitting Bull" outfit didn't need an orange aura around it. It could've had a toggle to turn it off too.
okay that's cool
Something else neat for ya @the-desolated-quill
I love Andrew Hulshult’s score so much! It’s my favourite aspect of the film! It’s so dark and guttural! 😄
I did not know that final scene in Iron Lung could become even more rawer till now. Because fucking damn, Andrew is amazing.
I want to show you guys something. See I’m not really a fan of Markiplier. Got nothing against the guy. He seems nice enough, but the few Let’s Play videos of his I’ve seen are a bit OTT for my taste.
I knew of Iron Lung. Never played the game, but had heard about the movie. Figured I’d give it a go. Thought it would be decent. Nothing special. A run of the mill sci-fi horror with a shoestring budget. That’s what I expected to get.
And then this is how the film started…
…and I tell you now, I sat bolt upright in my seat. I was hooked. It’s got such a great atmosphere and worldbuilding, the visual of the submarine being lowered into the blood is spectacular, the narrator sounds epic and the music, my GOD the music! I want to make love to that music! I want to marry that music and have its babies!
While the film as a whole isn’t perfect, it’s still a really effective and evocative piece of eldritch horror. It just goes to show you don’t need a major studio, big name stars or a massive budget to make something impactful. All you need is a really good idea.
Yes the first half drags a bit and the runtime is quite bloated, but it doesn’t detract from what is a very strong story and a very confident directorial debut.
Iron Lung is honestly such a masterpiece. But that's just me loving it very much. I am very grateful I saw it twice in theaters. Especially even though I'm crazy for saying this. I think Mark's acting puts him as among one of the greats right next to Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell and other great performances in horror films this year. I sound crazy, but maybe it's because I'm not a huge cosmic horror dude. But it's also nice seeing a YouTuber I loved as a kid showing off his acting chops.
So, I'm glad you seem to have finally watched it. I really want the film on Blu Ray so I can add it to my collection.
Also, YES, the score by Andrew is so fucking good. So many great tracks such as this one. It's tragically beautiful.
And then there's "Jaws of Life" that's so fucking raw. I want a physical release of this soundtrack dude. I even have a poster of the film in my room too.
Hope you didn't mind my "Glazing" even though I'm not here as much anymore.
As someone who kind of grew up with these movies. I'm glad I saw this. :)
Kind of the perfect final Jackass film. Honestly hilarious. And like someone said after the credits ended, "End of an era" because it really is.
I was worried the fourth would be last. Because while I liked that one. It didn't feel like a perfect finale. But this one felt like it as they did some new stuff while also looking back at old stunts.
Also, when I say I kind of grew up with these films. I first saw the third film in 3D with my cousin back in the day. And as the years went by, I saw the other films.
Happy 35th birthday to a character that still means a lot to me to this day. And on 4/27/26, I finally drew this.
I haven't drew in ages. And only shared this with closet friends. Anyway, this is own own take on Sonic himself. Here's also the non-colored version. I also attempted to redraw him a day before the anniversary. But I hated what I was drawing.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle Of The Realms
This was copied from my DeviantArt journal before I posted it.
I just watched the movie many minutes ago. Like, fully. Credits and all. I’m not gonna spoil anything huge. It’s been a week since it came out. I bought it on DirecTV and after that deleted it.
I’m gonna be honest and from whenever I mentioned it. I was very excited for this film. Even going as far as saying I’m probably gonna love it already, before it even came out. Because I absolutely loved Scorpion’s Revenge. And I felt like what WB Animation has decided to do with this is genius. There was even the idea that I had hoped it would be better than the 2021 live action reboot that came out this year. Despite I did enjoy that film too.
But I will admit….I was bothered when I saw let me look at it in case. Okay, the Amazon rating changed from a two and a half stars. To now three and a half stars. Which I do appreciate that. But that rating, and I do wanna give my own opinion. This is my first reaction to the movie. I’ll just get this out of the way. Even though I tried my best to not see anything spoilerish. Despite a pic concerning one character’s fate(Stryker) and what happens with one character(Liu Kang). Again, no huge spoilers. I only watched two clips that I felt weren’t really big. But I decided to ignore the rest.
I liked it. It is seriously a very kick ass film. But also the violence at certain points may make you feel uneasy in a sense. But the film is overall entertaining, and I’m glad I watched it in the living room. It’s also funny at times. Mainly thanks to Johnny Cage, who’s always a classic.
And I think Liu Kang fans may really appreciate this movie because of what they do with his character. Also other little standouts like Scorpion and Sub Zero who I will always love. There’s a lot of awesome moments.
But here’s my problem…and this may sound weird. I thought to myself, maybe I shouldn’t treat this like a theatrical film. But I need to be honest with you all. I know this is a direct to DVD/video/Blu Ray movie.
But this film/movie needed to be longer…it literally needed to be. There is a lot of stuff in this movie. And it goes by very quick. I have thought that I think Mortal Kombat fans will enjoy this movie more. But I feel like for fans who know the lore and these characters, that might be worse.
Despite my issues with the 2021 movie. At least that had some time with some of it’s characters. Even though it still had issues with packing a lot into one movie. And I get it, this is not a theatrical film, but this NEEDED to be longer. And I’m thinking it was supposed to be. That’s my guess, and I’ll tell you at the end. And I just added the part that I tried my best to avoid spoilers.
I wanna explain it like this. You know when you watch a movie. Maybe it’s based upon a video game or whatever else. There’s a lot of stuff in it, or you think they could do more with it maybe. And it feels like it’s too short. That’s this movie…this movie needed to be longer…
Again, I liked it. But I feel something happened. And there were certain writing choices that I feel like…will piss off MK fans.
Also, now the thing that made me truly think, this was meant to be longer. Mileena is NOT in this movie….her name is in the credits. She was voice acted by Grey Griffin. But she’s NOT in the movie. But her name appears…and she was in the list of characters that was showed on Twitter, revealing which characters were in this movie. Unless I missed her real quickly….I’m not sure. I was hoping for an end credits scene possibly. But nothing…absolutely nothing.
Think I’ve said enough.
So, I just researched Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms after a long time.
To be honest, I genuinely still liked it. But those 30 minutes cut out REALLY hurt the movie.
I also feel like if they had saved Shinnok, the One Being and maybe the Cyber Lin Kuei for a sequel. And make a third movie that combines elements of MK3 and 4 with Shinnok as the main villain. I think that would've been much better.
Especially characters like Kitana, Kung Lao, Kuai Liang and others could've developed a little more. And certain moments would hit even harder if stuff wasn't rushed.
Anyway, a while back I researched Scorpion's Revenge. I still loved that film. Even if it could've been better in some areas. I gotta watch Snow Blind soon.
Well, I just saw Masters of the Universe. I'm bummed this film isn't making bank because I really enjoyed it. While I do think it could've been more sincere in some parts. But I still really liked it.
Especially as someone who saw the 2002 Masters of the Universe show as a kid. I think it was nice a lady at the theater talked about seeing the 80's show when she was younger. But she said it was in black and white...strange.
I actually went to bed early by mistake, and just finished RE9 at 3 in the morning or so....honestly perfect.
Anyway, I'm glad to finally finish the game. Because it's maybe the best of the modern Resident Evil games. A perfect blend of action and horror with a lot of good stuff in it, story wise too.
And my God I am so glad they give you the choice to go back and change your decision on the "Destroy/Release Elpis" part because I actually thought I did the right thing at first.
Also, it's funny Grace's "Apocalypse" costume was still showing even in the after credits scene. XD I thought that would change but guess not. I'm again glad I finally finished the game.
.....wow.....that was incredibly dope. Just....wow. Granted, it's only my first reaction but I'm shocked.
I think what I also found shocking is that for some reason there were kids (One had a literal Caine plushie) and everyone was respectful. And people clapped when the credits started...that was incredible.

I wanna say this about one line in the ending of Iron Lung. Spoilers ahead.
"FINE! YOU WANT THE BUTCHER! COME ON!" is honestly one of the rawest lines I've heard in a film in a long while. And what makes it more raw is the context where it's in a scene where a man (Played by Markiplier) is in a situation where he's going to die anyway. But he straight up takes on an eldritch like creature WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
And the fact from what it looked like, both sides won and lost that fight as they both died. Yet the one with the biggest balls (And legit victory considering the Black Box made it out) will always be Simon. Simon taking on the Blood Eel is one of my favorite moments of cinema this year next to Kelson's one man show in 28 Years Later The Bone Temple. And keep in mind there's this moment in the final act.
Simon said this. "YOU WANNA EAT ME?! COME AND TRY!" he yells as he rams the SM13 into the Blood Eel. Infecting it with radiation.
MY MAN TURNED INTO A FUCKING TREE! THAT MAKES THIS SCENE EVEN MORE RAW!
Here's the VFX breakdown. There was so much shit going on that it was hard to see it in theaters BUT HOLY SHIT DUDE. https://x.com/wolfietronic356/status/2061033787853570178?s=20
