Just Deaf West Spring Awakening Things

Wendla’s heartbreaking “Mama Who Bore Me” and “Why didn’t you tell me everything????” because not only is her mother keeping the facts of life from her, but there’s also a Deaf/hearing barrier

Also this is like 10 years after sign language was banned all over the world in school so the teacher and Melchior don’t sign in class, and the teachers fail Moritz just like they failed Deaf kids who couldn’t speak. Mortiz’s father is also Deaf which makes his anguish even more poignant.
