I know I quit this website a few months back but this is the only place I can type out some of what I’m feeling. I want to start with saying I’m not mad that it happened, at 95 it was honestly a matter of time, but it still blows. I’ll forever regret missing the few chances I could have met you, every time I was either “too busy” or had to run on someone else else’s schedule. The only time I really couldn’t was when I was out of town, but even with that I’m sill upset. I’m just a drop of water in the ocean of people who’re upset, but every single other person feels the same way if not more. I wish I could’ve met you even for a few seconds. I wish I could have thanked you for everything you have given the world. I wish I tried harder and taken the few chances I had to spend just a few moments to let you know how much you mean to me, to an entire culture of readers, collectors, and more. I know I said I’m not upset it happened, I’m just upset he couldn’t hear one more voice in the millions who wanted him to know how much he meant to the world. I’m also very upset that there isn’t anyone I know IRL who can really have as strong feelings as me with this situation that’s a 2 hour drive away. But there isn’t much I can do. It’s beyond me, and I can’t live wondering “what if I could’ve”. Everything happens and there’s not much else to do but to except it. If today taught me anything, it’s to remember to appreciate what’s in the world every so often, and if you ever get the chance to meet you heroes, take that damn chance and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
