> Jadine: Be rational about this.
When she starts walking towards you, you forget how to breath.
Every inch of her is fantastic, from her hair to her horns to her face. Every new thing you saw as your eyes dragged over her form made your pusher skip, and you’re pretty sure that if this keeps up you’re going to fucking die.
Her eyes. Her skin. It was real, so real, and so close — you could feel the vibrations beneath your feet as she walked towards you. You could hear the beat of her pusher, so faint, as all the other noises faded into the background. And when she’s close enough, when she’s right there, her hand hovering only inches from your face, you could smell her; the unique, heady scent coming off her skin that was all her, one hundred percent Jadine. Rez and Gam had scents all their own too, though you think only you and Rez are particularly skilled at picking people out by their individual scents.
You swallow, hard, and reach your own hand up, letting it hover above hers for a second. It’s shaking. You’re shaking. You’re trembling like a fucking leaf and you want to cry and scream at the same time, she here, she’s here and she’s like you and… and…
You slowly, carefully, press your hand against hers, which in turn presses it against your face. She feels so warm.
"My sister says if you kill me she’ll kill you," you mumble. You’re not really sure why you said that. It was literally the first thing that popped into your head. "So, uh. Don’t. That. Please."
You’re so smooth Dae, so smooth.
You feel a little bit of wetness on your cheek. Yeah, you’re crying. You hope she doesn’t tease you about it. When you open your mouth again, your voice is shaky and near embarrassingly high. “…You’re real. You’re really real, you exist, and… and you’re like me, and… you’re…”
Yeah, you’re just. Babbling now.
"…hi."
He's so small. So small, and he looks a little younger than you are - a sweep or two, maybe. You process distantly that the shape of his face is familiar, the style of his hair, something nagging that you can't quite put your finger on. But it passes because suddenly his hand is over yours and your palm is flush to his cheek and you jolt because he's warm.
Not warm like Eridan, whose heat is cozy and comforting and several degrees above your own, but warm like you are. Like the weak moonlight of a spring night on the island, warming patches of the earth until they were comfortable enough to lay in. It's so surreal - not even the slightest variation in temperature.
"Yeah," you manage, voice distant and more dazed than ever. "Yeah, my mate said that if you hurt me she's going to kill you, too, so. Let's not kill or hurt one another," you continue absently, blinking a few times to clear your vision. Absently, your thumb wipes away the wet trace of tears, gaze flicking to the beads of pale green liquid on your skin.
For a fearful moment you wonder if it will sink in and make your world even more vague and dream like, teeth sinking into your bottom lip, before finally tugging your eyes away and back to him, studying his face again. He was real.
You hadn't made him up or been led on some wild goose chase in attempts to draw you out and cull you.
"Hi," you whisper in response, smiling faintly. It's all you can manage for a moment. "..I. It's so good to meet you, you have - well, actually, you do have an idea. And. And you're here, and I never thought? I'd ever see another one ever, ever! B-but..."
