A/N: I was thinking about Jaebum’s cats and then about how he would be like as a cat and that’s kind of how this very random yet intriguing idea came to life. I could write paragraphs about them as cats but let’s reserve that for another time lol. Hope you like it!
When you saw him at the pet shelter, he looked so cute while he was sleeping, you just could not not take him. A quiet but chill cat, very likeable around other neighborhood cats too. Goes with the flow most of the time, good at being by himself but won’t shy away (or attack) when strangers/visitors approach or pet him. Knows how to respect your space: instead of sitting on your laptop, he decides to sit next to it. Likes his baths, doesn’t understand why the rest of the cats don’t like them. Sometimes he seems to have disappeared, but he’s just secretly hiding in the cupboards behind the cornflakes. Photogenic cat, pretty chill around cameras too so honestly the perfect cat candidate to open an insta account for. Only con is that he leaves a lot of hairballs around for you to stumble upon. Once you found a hairball tucked away in the corner of your closet. Never again.
In short: the chill, unproblematic go with the flow cat with secret hideout spots.
You chose to bring this cat home because he looked very pretty and mighty. He was calm and quiet as well when you first met, but as more time passed by and Jaebum got more adjusted to your home, he started letting his true self out. This included him stretching out on your laptop and your charger because those are warm and he likes it warm, sleeping on your face at night so, accidentally, you were lowkey barely breathing, and walking around on two paws like he was human. Sometimes, when you were reading and Jaebum peeked over your shoulder, you truly believed he could comprehend and read the human language. He also meows to you like he’s holding entire conversations with you and always expects you to reply back. Secretly loves Youngjae the cat more than he likes you, his owner.
In short: a calm, quiet cat that, despite its looks, is really quirky and loveable.
Highkey reminds you of a puppy. Actually, probably grew up around dogs. By the time you adopted Jackson he genuinely thought he was a dog instead of a cat. Gets very excited when you bring out the leash so you guys can go on your morning and evening walks each day. Needs a lot of love and attention or he will get sulky and lowkey petty. Scratches nonstop at the bedroom door if you dare lock him out of it when you go to sleep. Occasionally gets in fights with Jaebum over which one of you is the owner’s favorite (neither of you are). Nibbles on your pens to wish/give you good luck. Literal definition of what a jumpscare would look like, aka does that weird funny jumping motion when scared or flustered. He can’t bark but he can meow like his nine lives + your life depend on it. He meows like that every time a visitor gets too close to you.
In short: a very attention-seeking and easily exciteable dog-cat that’s very loyal.
The calm and quiet cat that you brought back who was actually calm and quiet. Likes to hang out on your windowsill, just soaking up the sun and lowkey glaring at strangers. Usually doesn’t bother with visitors, wishes they would leave him alone sometimes. The only human he doesn’t mind being patted by is you, but he won’t ever admit or acknowledge that directly. Gets really excited and energetic at the sight of balls of yarn, purposefully throws/nudges them all over the place so there’s yarn everywhere. Loves his milk, would never share his food with the other cats. The most sensible one of the bunch along with Mark, just stares at the rest of them judgmentally, figuratively shaking his small head in disappointment. Also loves baths, but mainly cause that’s the only time where he feels like he’s getting spoiled (kind of like a spa day). If he could talk, he would tell on the other cats when they’ve made a mess just to get extra pats and fish from you.
In short: a composed, calm cat that’s lowkey sneaky but very responsible.
An undeniable sweetie, even in cat form. Looks so cute it could melt even the thoughest of hearts. Likes to play with the other cats. The cat that actually prefers the toys you buy for him rather than random cardboard boxes. Gets along with legit every cat and human to have ever crossed paths with him. If you pet him and he likes you, he will return the favor by purring comfortably on your lap and making that his permanent hangout spot. Has this weird habit of meowing along to the piano like he can sing (do cats even do that???). He can’t. But that ain’t stopping his one-man catmusical. Almost always in a good mood and automatically puts others in a good mood too. Can sense it if you’re feeling down, would sit in your lap when he notices you need comforting. (Once accidentally nibbled on a piece of cucumber and passed out in his own puke cause the taste of it appalled him so much it literally sent him into a shock-state. Woke up an hour later and pretended like nothing happened.)
In short: a literal sunshine, the cat of your dreams, minus the tonedeafness.
Now, this cat. Pfew. This is the cat that you see weird, funny videos of on social media. No, I take it back. This is the King of those cat memes. You know that one viral cat meme with the cat sitting at the table and a woman furiously pointing at it? That is Bambam in cat form. Highkey chaotic, but he looked really adorable and playful when you first saw him and so you kind of have a weakspot for him. Strangers absolutely love him and he knows it. You think you know how much of a troublemaker he is, but truth is you barely know half of what the hell he does in actuality. The cat that knocks things over if they’re near the edge of the table, just to let you know that things can fall over if you put them too close to the edge. But if there’s only one thing in the middle of the table, 10/10 would knock it over the edge as well because why would you put something on the table that your cat can just push off? The cat that prefers cardboard boxes over the toys, but you still end up buying expensive stuff for your cat cause he has expensive taste and somehow persuaded you into thinking he needed those luxurious purchases in his life. (On the plus side, he only keeps you awake for two hours during the night by knocking over who knows what on purpose.)
In short: a funny, mischievous cat that always gives you trouble but you love him either way.
Looks adorable, is adorable. You thought he would make a perfect addition to the family because your quieter cats could use a bit more company, but turns out this cat likes knocking over stuff too. Though Yugyeom likes to do it purely out of curiosity. Actually, he does a lot of weird things out of pure curiosity. Sometimes copies what the other cats do so you suddenly have two cats scratching at your bedroom door or two cats sitting on your laptop, but stops the minute you scold him. In truth, he kind of has a weak spot for you, so he’d do anything to not make you frown and withhold yourself from petting him. Is fascinated by current technology. Always looks surprised when he sees himself in a reflection or in a photo. Has this thing where he bops along to music he likes, unless it’s metal, then he shakes his head frantically and runs away to one of Mark’s secret-not-so-secret hideout spots until you turn the music off.
In short: a cute cat that learns by exploring and practically worships you.
