Got back from watching Macbeth.
The macbeths were sooo in love- they used Lady Macbeth setting up the daggers to be the hallucination Macbeth has. He- always, always- he follows her like a sirens call. He returns in the beginning he twirls Lady Macbeth in the air, they kiss a thoudsand times in that scene and tumble onto the ground, Macbeths breathing in her skin like a lifeline. Multiple times thrpugh tje play- once, twice, maybe thrice- he kneels before her. And they hold each other with such dear love, cupping each others faces. They had a recurring motif of taking each others hands before going off stage. She does not take his hand after the Banquest. A turned over stool is in the place she would've stood beside him.
Lady Macduff wails at her childrens murder. Macduff is brought to a curled ball by the news of their murder, as the messenger turns away and Malcolm stands in silence.
Macbeth had no such grief, of course.
The witches were ghostly puppets, Hecate giganimous and her sleeve presenting the shadows of his downfall.
Bamboo is what made their weapons and Durnam woods march.
If you did jot watch close you could miss Banquo's specter move on and off stage, making him as much an apparrition to the audience as to Macbeth.
Anyways Im in love with this production if you're in DC anytime soon GO SEE IT !!!
