Yeah I didn’t even realize Val showed up naked at Voxs office to use sex as an apology for the fight they had either earlier or the day before when Val hit him with the glass. When he got there and he heard Vox say he won’t need a squad and fake laughing with Alastor he realized Vox wasn’t even mad at him and I think that hurt more.

I have been wondering what Val could have possibly be doing at Vox's office to peek in on that deranged intetaction- but Val is totally and completely naked save for some sexy fishnet stockings and thigh-high boots!! And his coat/wings is done up in a way that's easy to untie- it's just his second set of sleeves keeping the outfit any semblance of modest. He TOTALLY was there to have Make-Up sex with Vox!

And instead walked right in on this:

Vox completely fine, unbothered, seemingly ready to drop him, and instead completely obssessing over Alastor. Carrying on like the fight never happened, and looking like it never bothered him in the first place.

Like op, you are COMPLETELY RIGHT. It's obvious Val really, truly likes Vox and has feelings for him, and possibly wants more. He seems like he's personally fine with Vox having side hoes, but he wants to be the MAIN partner. The one Vox comes home to, the one where he picks up dinner for and they eat together. Heck, he might even be into watch Vox get his rocks off with another-- just so long as Vox wanders back over to him and prioritizes him in the end. So long as he cares. I think that's what Val wants, more than anything, is Vox's affections. And this scene makes it seem like he never cared about Val at all, and were only fuck budies in business. Nothing more, and never could be more. (Because he only ever had room for Alastor in his heart))

AND YET! AND YET!

He still saves Vox and brings him back home at the end of season 2. After all of season 2. It says a lot about them I think.

Vox was going in a full manic spiral, being psychologically and emotionally abused by Alastor the whole time the Vees had Alastor, and Val and Velvette watched all of that and outright decided that Vox wouldn't do what he did if Al was around, and are just waiting for him to come back to them.

When he's about to blow himself up taking half the pentagram with him that's when they intervene and bring him back with them.

They've known each other long enough to know Vox is not being his normal self and were waiting for him to get his senses back.

Vox treated them so well for so long that they stayed loyal to him after everything. Sure they're mad as hell with him but still, they kept him and brought him back.

Val and Velvette don't care what Al does, they just want their friend back.

Sure Val publicly denies knowing Vox but he still loves him in private (I'm seeing the Valentine merch being canon given Val is still affectionate with Vox despite Vox being just a head)

I love their relationship so much.

It can finally hopefully get better in the future, if they talk about it that is, which they probably will have to.

I don't usually post fic recs here because we're all visiting the same site and y'all probably know more fics than me, but I read this Japanese fic on Pixiv that I really enjoyed and I'd like to share it with you!

It's about the Vees post-S2, except that Vox died at the end, and Vel and Val opened a maid café to make ends meet. It's heartwarming and funny, even though most of the humor will probably be lost in translation if you use an automatic translator. 😅

(I ran it through Google Translate just to be sure; I'd say it's got a 95% accuracy rate, but yeah, it doesn't work that well with the jokes. But it's still a fun read!)
